2010 Garden Photos - Part 2
I noticed new growth on the butterfly bush already! Honeysuckle too.
We are due for snow on Monday.
Ge1836, nice shots of color.
DH called this morning as he stood outside on his cell phone and counted over 50 of the Ard Schenk crocus out under our east window. Plus more out on the west side along with more reticulated iris. I think those crocus that he was seeing on the west side are Crocus tommasinianus and the Iris histrioides 'Lady Beatrix Stanley' which is a total love.
I am still in NYC for another day. Avoiding the parade now. I had a wonderful time at the NY Botanical Garden. Orchids were fabulous. I then spent a few hours in the Library doing some research about those little gems, Iris reticulata. I didn't see one crocus out while strolling about. Only one tree, Hamamelis Arnold's Promise was out (Victor posted a picture of it on March 12th) ,except for one other pale pink tree that I couldn't get over to ID that was peeking out from behind a service building. Not sure what it was. I will have to get H. Arnold's Promise though I do have that nice other yellow one, H. Wisley Supreme in bloom now too.
Hard to be missing my spring blooms, but I am visiting our son while in NYC. Not a bad thing. Enjoy the sun all. Patti
Now isnt this better than January?
Tons better than January.
Nice. I saw lots of sedum. My spirea 'Ogon' is already leafing out.
flowerjen, Great blue and yellow garden with Iris reticulata Katherine Hodgkin and I. reticulata Harmony Iris and Crocus Herald. I want everyone to plant some of those little gems next fall. Patti
A few lavender crocus started to bllom. DH sw the foliage of Katharine Hodgkin near a rock. I think that I placed the rock there as a marker last spring.
love the shots Victor... but sniff sniff.. love that hellebore
my BB's got hacked down today
Great, JoAnn! I like the purple and yellow crocus. I like any kind of crocus, truth be told.
Victor, I cut back my butterfly bush a few weeks ago. I cut it back every year.
Sounds like you're having a great time in NY, Patti. I would love to go to the orchid show. Today I won 2 tickets to the Boston Flower Show on a local radio station. I got the luck of the Irish on my side today, and I wasn't even wearing green!!!!!!!
Nice stuff going on at your places, Jen and Victor.
Is anyone here having difficulty with DG? I don't know if it's my internet connection or what. I'm having trouble getting pics to load.
Karen

Karen
Well, I am sputtering and fuming and fighting with the camera and the computer again and eventually I get a picture--no point in trying classes or anything I forget what I do and how I get from one place to another on the blasted software about as fast as I do it-------I suppose I am really having fun like a seven year old instead of a seventy something anyway. Snow drops have been opening and closing for some time now and I'm finding clumps out in the woods
you did good!!!
Really liked the snowdrops pictures. Our 4 little guys are still in bloom, I am happy to say.
Nice collages Karen
Very nice Karen & Weedy!
