Incredibly, my spice viburnum is already fragrant even though the buds are still tiny!
2010 Garden Photos - Part 2
I like those close ups, Karen, to see them that close I have to get down on the ground and then between back knees and elbows I have a fight getting up, not to mention a certain lack of dignity in an old geezer flat on the ground peering at flowers---but I worried all winter that I might not be able to get down on the ground and weed and yesterday had no more difficulty than last year, so I weeded some daylily seedlings due to bloom this year for the first time, planted cheap ones from the super market packages and sputtered over the deer and rabbits decimating the kniphophia and for-get-me nots, If the boxes of daylilies are as labeled (I doubt it ) they are Pink Charm and Morning Glory both from the forties, it's like playing the lottery, you never know. Waiting for early seedlings like this one----------

Congrats! Did it poke right through a leaf??
Yes, it did, Victor. Determined little thing. It's in a big stand of Lily of the Valley, and I never clean the leaves out in there...everything just comes right up thru the dead leaves.
Me too Norester!! You inspired me to go out and look and I have white & yellow blooming!! Yipppee!!!!!!!!
Cool!
Weird how the leaf was not pushed out of the way. Must have been trapped.
wait a min... Celeste has flowers before me?????... :::::stamping feet:::::
Hee hee he

Congrats, Celeste!!
Hope Brian doesn't mind my saying, nice tetes!!
Hee hee. Oh no - he's smoking again??!!!
Yes, he has been for about 11 months.. he quit for 13 months, then started again.
I did not. ^_^
Bummer. How can he stay off so long and go back?
when you enjoy it.. it's easy to do.. I know
Yws, My first try I was 20 months in and then went back and smoked. This is my 2nd try, im at 2 years next Thursday.
Don't give in!
My first bloomer today! I can't understand why I'm on Maine's schedule for bloom time, actually behind...I've no daffs blooming yet, just a few buds...nice going, Pixie. Victor, I'm very jealous of those hellebores---mine have no buds :( Jo, Karen, & Noreaster, very nice crocus! Patti, loved the iris, & Weedy, I sympathize with you..going to ground is hard!
Good for you, Pixie!
Harmony is beautiful!! So is KH!!!!!

I agree, so looking forward to mine.
Yes - great blue. Gonna have to get that one.
White 'snow crocus' in bloom as well as a batch of purple ones in a different spot.
Just found bloom shoots deep in the helebore I have.
almost all of my crocus patches have blooms now - you'll have to trust me too busy to take pics.
I am finding crocus where I never expected to see them.
Don't ya love it when that happens!!
Me too. They do volunteer nicely.
One of the houses on the road behind me has daffs blooming on the side facing west.
