I see I have a purple crocus blooming now, but it's closed up right now.
2010 Garden Photos - Part 2
Nothing here yet but little green tips of daffs and tulips. I am not seeing any crocus, very odd. Nice to see some of your early blooms, it gives me hope.
I am in Calif, but my DH said we had a crocus out today in Nantucket. It would be Crocus Ard Schenk. Patti
very nice
My gardens are almost totally clear of snow now. Its not a pretty sight but a few weeks will tell which plants made it.
That reminds me Allison.I need to check the Apricot Sprite to see if thee is life anywhere
mine are still covered.. but I grew more this year.. just in case mine didn't
As soon as its light enough I will check and report.
What is the name of the Sedum cultivar?
I think its Royal Purple.
A DG'er gave it to me
Thanks I wrote that down in case I see it somewhere.
Would those of you guys with Witch Hazels mind photographing the whole tree? I'd like the see what that looks like. I think I may have spotted one as i was out driving today.
Saw some crocus foliage this morning!
Most are wider than that, though. Usually wider than tall.
How lovely. Yep, I'm sure I saw one in town now. Are they pretty when not in bloom, and how big would you say a mature one gets?
Some get very large - 15 or more feet after many years. They are not fast growers.
I've joined the crocus blooming crowd!
But it will be colder and rainy so might not see them open again for a few days...
Yay!!!! Congrats.
I was walking the other morning and told the husband of a gardener I was looking forward to seeing his garden. He looked at me a little strangely. Some people don't get it.
Yes - sadly.
My cousin sent me a pic of her Witchazel. It was beautiful at 10 years old. It looked like a tree because the deer eat the lower branches.
They are in bloom now.
In this zone thats all the flowers there are.

and they make me drool every year!!!
I have crocus up, but no blooms yet. The Daffs & Tulips are up, a few asiatic bulbs have popped up too! Not sure thats good, but they are right next to the foundation. Also have several daylilies waking up already, they're going to take a hit or two from the snow tonight but they always bounce back.
Awwwwwww
I can't believe you have more snow than me Allison.....mine is virtually gone. Except for a few places where the snow was banked high, there is none.
stop reminding me!!!!
yeah, here too, less snow than in NJ. ha! (sorry, but can't help it)
leaf buds are swelling, bulb leaves are starting to come up, robins are starting to appear, and geese are flying north. YIPPEE!!!!
Life is good
Yes, the geese were in the Lake yesterday, along with some black ducks and some mallords!
I love migration time. There are sometimes rare birds in a flock like that.
Black Ducks would be a nice sight to me. I have never seen one.
