Aaaw, jon, so sorry. this one here is a tenacious chewer.
Her big sister passed 4 years ago. She was a great hound. She would do anything. If it was not for her I would probably be in a wheel chair.
Shes not so tiny at 44 lbs!
The LAWN MOWER LONGE 2010 - WHERE EVERONE MOWS SOME GRRASS!
I see. Mine looked similar but it was a min pin. On his heaviest day he was tipping the scale at 10 pounds. That was probably the day he stole a slice of cheese pizza and was running around the house with that big ole slice dangling out of his mouth. Guess he wanted that "slice to go". LOL
OK I won't plant the onions! Can I cook them with the piggy? Yummy, roasted onions! Hey, I can add some carrots to that and some potatoes. Anyone got anything else we can roast with them piggies??
Peppers sound good. We'll add that to our roast. Anyone got any fennel bulbs. Those would add some excellant flavor.
OH! OH! I just had a thought. How about peach cobbler for dessert or bread pudding with apple/brandy sauce?? How about both??
Roasted fennel is good. Roasted radicchio is great also. It's quite bitter when raw, but tastes completely different when roasted.
Both desserts would be great. I'll make a raspberry ribbon pie to add to the dessert table.
I think we've got a great meal in the works. Now just need to get that piggy in the pit!! Come here piggy, we got a surprise for you. You've been invited to a party! Here piggy! Here piggy!
I'm on a diet...don't say dessert
I'm not much of a dessert eater, but occasionally like to splurge if it's something real real good. Keeping an eye on the sky today for severe storms. That same system that moved through the lower midwest (AR) yesterday.
My puters glitchen....im afraid im going down.
Oh I hope not Blossom. Please don't go. I'm gonna miss you.
Hit it wid a sledge hammer BB
We had a tornado scare last night but it just missed us.
I scream, you scream,we all scream for ice cream. Strand me on a deserted island with one food and I'd pick ICE CREAM!.
I love Cherry Cordial Ice Cream. The only place I can get it is at Krogers. A bowl of that and a small glass of Ameratto and I'm a Happy Camper.
M m good. I was wondering how close the tornadoes were to you Patty. Saw there was an outbreak in AR. It's that transitional time of the year.
Oo Marti,Oo Marti,I love that flavor too but we can't get it here any more and there's no Koger Stores here any more either....gone with all the 7-11 Stores I guess. Right now I'm in love w/ Blue Bunny Peanut Butter Panic.
amore,
yup it can get pretty scarey this time of year being right off "Tornado Alley". I believe I heard them save one person was killed in this last store.
Well, I guess if I decided to make a run to AR to look for rocks to paint, I might be talked into packing a container or two in some dry ice. Just let me know when tornado season is over. DO not want to run into one of those.
Every place on earth has some form of foul weather. Hurricane season starts in 2 1/2 months. Saw my first tornado about 10 years ago. Just stood outside and was mesmerized watching the clouds and debris spinning around in it. Didn't realize it was only about 1/2 mile away until coming inside and watching the news.
Calif has its earthquakes. I lived thru several encluding the 1971 quake that did alot of damage. It took down many buildings including Olive View Hospital. From my job we could see the top floors of that hospital. It was strange after the quake to look out and not see that hospital. The over passes of the freeways 5 and the 14 collapsed. A pickup truck with two guys in it were crushed. The sad thing is I knew both of them. They carpooled and would stop at our donuts shop to pick up the third guy. That morning he was late and the carpool rules says they would only wait a certain length of time at each stop. The 2 guys waited an extra couple of minutes but then had to leave or be late themselves for work. They never made it to work. The 3rd guy showed up at the donut shop to late to get a ride and was having coffee with the others in our shop when the quake hit. He saved several of us and comforted those of us that were scared out of our wits. If he had shown up on time, they may have been past that point when the bridges came down. If they had waited just a few more minutes they would of been on this side of the bridges. But it didn't happen. The 3rd guy, by being late, was there for those of us that needed his help, but he suffered severe depression over the whole late thing and killed himself a month later. After their funerals, I went up on the mountain and spent a day just sitting there, thinking about my three customers/friends and how things turn out. I hope they have found peace.
Wow, that is a tragic story. I can't even begin to comprehend what it must feel like with the earth moving below your feet and everything shaking. Then to make things worse you get the aftershocks to remind you of the initial experience.
Even five years later there are still visuals from the last Hurricane that hit here. All the houses have been fixed up and there are many new trees to replace the fallen ones. Ironically the first visual that still reflects the damage is that darn undevelooped lot where them hogs now live! Many of the trees are toppled over or still laying on top of each other like scattered toothpicks.
God as us w ere e wants us, t ats te bottlomline. We are all c osen to be w ere we are and are w ere we are because t at is t e WAY it is.
The thing with that earthequake is that it came from the northeast of us traveling southwest. Than it stopped. We jumped up and tried to run out of the building when it came back from the southwest to the northeast. The floor felt like a bowl of jello being shook back and forth.
The funny thing was I had always had the reputation of calm, steady nerves. Everybody always said in a pinch, stay near Marti she will get you thru. But that earthquake did me in. I was a screaming set of nerves. The guy that pulled me off the floor after the wave came back said that I tried to pull away from him saying that God was after me and if I left he'd kill everyone else to get me. He had to drag me out of the building. It took me weeks to get over that day. I had lived in Calif all my life. I had felt quakes before, but never like that one.
In the 90's we had another big quake that hit the Piru area and shook me out of my bed in Santa Paula. By than I had figured that what earthquakes are is just Mother Nature rearranging the furniture in her house. As long as she moves one or two piece we've OK, its when she decided to move the whole house at one time that you've got problems.
Computer is still glitc en.
I can see that. It's like were playing "fill in the letter".
I'd like to buy a vowel,Vanna.
Boy,I would have been scared outta my wits too Marti.
After you've been thru one big quake, you kind of get over the panic with the next one. It still scares you, but not so that you can't remember what to do when it hits.
Im scared outa my wittz too.
But yano life goes on... so where the heck is everyone.
Old BLOSSOM yells shes scared and ya'll disapear? Sometimes being scared is a good thing.
I think we're all just lurking about. springs here and trying to get everything done.
Its raining here. I have been on a dead run for 2 weeks. Got to pick some daffodils this morning.
I've been out rescuing daffs and irises. Have no idea of color of iris, but what the heck. Will give me color in my garden. The daffs are all blooming and my front porch is full of bright yellow. I love it. This time next year I'll have all colors of daffs and crocus in the yard.
Finally back online after 4 days. Computer crashed and new hard drive had to be installed. Being offline sucked.
Not gonna be around much.. still on a dead run....
What's a "dead run"?? Never heard that expression before.
run till ya drop
I have lots of round dead spots on the lawn. I need to rake the thatch and throw grass seeds on top. The bf blames the dog, but I sent him this article...

Argh! I sat out my nigella "Hot Fudge Sundae" I had growing in peat pots and the blasted tree rats dug up nearly everyone of them!!!!!!!!!!!!
With a name like HOT FUDGE SUNDAY, I da ate them too! LOL!
Just came in from poking five 50 foot rows of taters in. Im bushed.
Hope I managed to salvage some. I replanted most but others had already dried out.
Salvaged some what?
..... the sqwaarls or the niglies?
We got rain. That will settle the tater crop in for a grow. Glad we were able to get them in pretty timely this year even though we are 2 weeks off schedule.
Yano what you need for them thar sqwaarls is a bazooka. You could clobber them and then save yerself from digging new holes for other plants you wanna put in. I can see ya now, Patty, the sqwaarl slayer.. tossing a rat in a hole for fertilizer just like the engines did years back when thay planted corn with fish! LOL!
You go garl!
well, the little bas....um buggers...dug them up again and the wind we've been having dried them all out...ARGH! Now they're working on the tiarellas I just planted out in my gnome garden...Double ARGH! I need to "Whaaarrrshh!" them with a flame thrower...the squirrels...not the plants.
Just planted some johnny jump-ups around the water meter and the stinkin meter reader threw mulch all over them and pulled one out of the ground when he went to read the meter. Can I "Whaaarrsshh!" him too?
