Garden Projects Two - 2010
Nice Bill!
thx celeste - it looks kinda simple here - it is actually a four bedroom bird house - there is a hole on each side with separate rooms.
Expecting a large family? ^_^
That explains all the shoes.
Count the shoes......he has a problem, only 9 shoes.
One is probably stuck under a large stone somewhere.
Hee hee he
funny
LOL! Nice house, Bill. I hope you get them all occupied this year.
Karen
Maybe his shoe is under the 20 yards of soil?
Nice house Bill.
Ric
thx joann - the picture does not do that house justice - everyone is too kind:)
maybe i should start a fund raiser as i need $500 to get the new table saw i want:)
And a new shoe.
lol
can not believe the missing shoe was noticed.
if the fund raiser is not an option maybe provide positive thoughts that sears calls me back and/or the folks at fixya.com can figure out the problem and it is one i can fix:)
Doncha hateit when that happens?
Bill
if you were of a mind to sell the apt bird house how much? Then you could take enough orders to cover the cost of a new saw.......LOL
But if your anything like me, when ya have to do something it becomes less fun..... at least it was when I was making soap/lotions/balms.
Janet
very nice Bill
the shoe is there just out of the picture frame:)
janet i usually give them away - although not the round ones i've made - like louise said about - they take so long to do it would be hard to justify the price.
Well I will be in line to take one that you're giving away, Bill. LOL!!!!^_^
Karen
Bill my old cast iron 10" table saw was getting to be a handful, what I had to do was tear it down and replace the bearings. That really made a difference. If you do that the ms# on the bearing casings can be used as a part number, especially if you have a local business that specializes in bearings and seals as we do in the Harrisburg area. Ric
I'll trade a shoe for one.
LOL!!!!
first let me clarify - i USED to give away blue bird houses to friends as a house warming gift - simple one room blue bird houses - NOT the multi-room bird 4 star hotels i build now:)
ric that is what i think is gone - i have the manual here with the part numbers - have no idea locally if they are sold or not - hoping sears has them or i will go and search for them - found some directions on how to do it online - first need to confirm that is the problem - the nut holding the blade coming loose is the weird thing, not sure why that started to happen although believe it is related - and trust me i tightened it real good.
I had the same problem and suspect it was due to vibration in the shaft, I did however replace the nut with one that had the nylon locker in it. That saw was a monster to move around, when the motor went bad as well as the bearings again, I replaced it with a smaller one and build a mobile stand. That saw was used hard for 30 years, I even had a bracket so we could mount it on my old Wheel Horse garden tractor for use in places with no power. An 8hp table saw is an awesome thing. RRR LOL Ric
ric how do you tell if a bearing is worn? is it noticeable?
the fixya guy thinks it is the drive & bearings
What brand, Bill?
craftsman
Won't Sears service it or give you advice on the phone?
Bill, end play in the shaft (quiet Victor), or side to side movement, or any range of movement up or down on the shaft (stifle yourself Victor). Be sure that the belt is off to check, you may be surprised how loose it may be without any tension. Ric
Thanks for the stifels victors. I couldnt have said it better myself.
ROFLOL ;+} HOLLY
thx ric - next rainy day i will check it out - can't even see a belt - did find a bearing dealer close to here. i will update you later - sunday looks to be the next rain forecast.
victor i have a low end $250 table saw that is 15 years old - i could replace it for less than it would cost to send out and have it fixed. last time a switch burnt out when from saw dust catching fire while in use (not kidding, still ran for several weeks after, tough little saw) and it cost $3.00 for the part. i'm hoping this is the same deal. this saw gives far from accurate and true cuts so if i do need another i will get a better model either way i will be happy.
If I were inclined to do so, I would have commented on Bill's shaft comments yesterday. ^_^
Waaaaatch it
