Cool. I watched that game on tv.
Sports Talk!! Part 3 - March Madness!
I waved.
How about Pelf? 8-1!!
Yay! Only saw 5 innings, then I collapsed. They are on earlier tonight, but I have a church meeting to attend.....maybe I can leave early.
Pray for them!! They need it.
LOL!
That poor guy with the blown call ruining his perfect game. They should just give it to him. What's going on with all these perfect games??
Another wasted effort by Santana.
Broke my heart....guess I didn't pray hard enough! Jim Joyce acknowledged he blew the call after he saw the replay....I say give the no hitter to Galaraga.
i think i would be just getting released on bail if i had pitched that game.
Just watched the play for the first time - not even close! And the CF made a great catch.
I read on Yahoo this morning that Bud Selig is going to talk to his advisers about reviewing the call. I'm not a huge fan of Selig's ability to make rational decisions on a consistent basis, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that he does the sensible thing in this situation and overturns the call.
I like what Galarraga's shortstop, Ramon Santiago, said after the game though: "I know I played in a perfect game. In my mind, on June 2, Armando Galarraga threw a no-hitter. I'm going to get a ball signed by him."
At the very least, this game needs an * in the record books.
blue have been making way too many mistakes lately - maybe its all the instant replay although i do not remember it being this bad before - although in confidence i do remember denny doyle in the 75 world series missing second base by 3' and still getting the call for a double play:)
home plate ump's are the worse - the A's had many beefs last night with some of the calls that went the red sox way.
And the dopey commish will not overturn it.
The fans should send him a million emails.
Although I wasn't complaining about the outcome, I didn't disagree with those A's players. ^_^
I agree. Never liked him much. Feel bad for the ump.
I would consider sending Selig an e-mail if I thought he could read.
Ouch!!
LOL
Oh this is sooooo inappropiate attire for tennis.( I know Victor will like it)

I've seen that. Is a bit much. Not a big fan of hers. Now if it was Kournikova or Sharipova...
Venus is a tough player, but hope she sees that photo & is totally embarrassed.
Another 1-hitter by a Mets pitcher! Gem by Niese. 26th 1-hitter.
Yes, so glad I saw that game....and San Diego is a tough team....sweet. Hope they don't flub against the hapless Orioles.
Sorry to say this, Celt fans, but I think LA will win.
So do I...and the Amazin's keep on rolling!
Without Perkins, things look bleak & they were complaining about Bynam. However LA somethimes gets above themselves.
It seems like both teams have been pretty inconsistent throughout the series which has made it hard for me to establish a gut feeling of my own. I'm pulling for the Celtics but having spent so many years as a Red Sox fan has conditioned me to expect my teams to lose in heartbreaking fashion.
I would be picking LA even if Perkins was fine.
I think Kobe will have a monster game.
how come?
Because he is a great player who rises to the occasion. He is close to MJ caliber.
He can't do anything without teamates. Witness the difference between game 5 & 6. Jorden once scored 63 pts in a playoff game, but the Celtics won the series.
Nice comeback for LA. Wow - 11 championships for Phil.
LA sucks almost as much as the yankees - and jackson?? look who he attached himself too - never built a team just followed a star player.
where was the "great" mj like game from kobe? does not rate with bird, magic, and mj. that missed up and down on pau was brutal.
manny is back tonight in fenway - i predict more boo's than damon ever dreamt of hearing
That's ridiculous. Many coaches have had all-star caliber teams and did not win. LA did not win for five years. Why not say the same for Auerbach? He had great players.
Kobe did not have a great game and they still came from behind to win. Celts could not put them away with a 3-2 lead. Kobe is not yet in the class of those guys but is pretty close.
Sox never would have won without Manny - undeniable fact.
red built his own teams - name a coach with a kobe/mj level player that has not one a championship and lebron has not been in the league long enough.
i was a huge manny fan and he cost them the championship when he forced his way out. they put up with a lot in his time here and the boos will rain down on him and he will care less.
Utah Jazz had two of the greatest players ever. Never won.
Philly had mega-stars, including Dr. J., and only won once.
I'm sure there are more. Just thought of them quickly.
malone and stockton were all-stars not players that controlled a game/season or in the class of bird, magic, or mj. together they could not beat mj and bulls.
dr. j won one so they are not inlcuded.
b-ball is different than any other sport in that there are only 5 players on the court and the star's will play almost the whole game and can control it much more than in any other sport. jackson just followed the top star's. red could have sat on the bench and won a few more - he did not do that he let russell lead the team for the next championship.
Even the loss of a non all star like Perkins cost them the game. Addition to LA like Gosol (sp) made them a great team. The Celtics were handling Bryant so took him out & the play like a team won the game for the Lakers. I don't claim that Kobe isn't a team player but many times teams will sort of stand around & watch the stars play. That happened quite a bit with Jordan until they got Pippen to complement him. By the way some of the Lakers championships where in MN when George Mikan domentated everyone in the early days of the league.
