Gymgirl, I don't see why the paper towel method wouldn't work. I first came across the idea as a way to test germination for old seeds. When I checked their progress several days later & found those little little leaves and tail forming, it made sense to me to pot them up. Sometimes they stick to the paper so that goes into the pot too. I put them into the soil mixture with the seed end at the depth recommended for the type of seed and they grow as usual. I really, really like that more immediate gratification of knowing they're germinating.

I was amazed how neat the paper towel germinating thing worked and loved it BUT what I did had larger seeds (beans and squash). It did not work, for me, with the tiny seeds.

the cheeper the TP the better lil seeds are not ones to fight to get out . and this site shows you a good way to do lil tiny seeds
