Holly, Try Holding down the Alt key and using the number key pad type 0167 §

♥ ( Alt and a 3) Have fun with the Alt key !

Stormy, I took a short stroll along the sidewalk, near the corner fence there are snowdrops blooming ☺
The snow is slowly melting so could not get to other parts of the yard, some places have at least a foot and that is not where the snowblower put it that is just natural fall and the wind. The corner bed near the porch is clear but snow is blocking the way to get to it. It sure needs raked out. I was thinking of tossing out some poppie seeds there just to see if they will grow.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Heya, LadyG! I'm just popping in for a quick hello & a hug. I'm grabbing a late lunch (PB & raisins on whole wheat), but I think my break is about over... I hear Joyanna stirring. She had a good long nap today, and I hope you did, too!

I'm glad you got outside. We're going to hang out on the back patio this afternoon, I think... snow is receding, and crocci are blooming!

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

LOL! I tried to make an animal once and it all broke apart after I posted it. Sow away!

HollyAnn, that made me smile!

Mount Bethel, PA(Zone 6a)

Lady....now you have me obsessed with the alt key. I really don't need any more obsessions, but they are fun (in one's own little world).

I just got my Melampodium and Laurentia seeds in pots, lady, thank you. Hoping you felt up to doing yours, too, so we can have a contest- who's first
^_^

Baltimore, MD(Zone 7a)

Sally--
I was wailing away time today by the phones looking through the HD 1-2-3 Book on Gardening (it is awesome! I still learn --every time I look through it!) and in the Plant Encyclopedia section they also called Melampodium--"Butter Daisy"....Never heard of it before.....
It also said NEVER to fertilize it--as it will reduce the amount of blooms. THERE!

Okay, everybody, Gather around for a big group hug for Chris! How often do you take your chemo sessions? Any specific days? Good luck and maybe the Dr. can give you something else for the nausea. Don't be afraid to ask.

Near Lake Erie, NW, PA(Zone 5a)

Pippi, No nausea with this chemo. : ) Next session is March 24th, then more scans blood work and scans to see how I'm doing. If everything is going as planned it will be every 3 weeks.

Sally I did get some seeds planted today and more seeds arrived in the mail. Glad you picked out some Laurentia, plant them thick they are one of thoses plants that a pot of them all by themselves look great. I had this pot hanging on the gate last year.

Here's Marmaduke, minus the 8 leaves that just went to the Frederick Swap. I like it's pretty pink flowers.

The one in front of it is the one that Gita gave me. It's doing very well. I've found that they do so much better when I mist them every day.

Chris, glad you have no nausea with your chemo. How often do they do a pet scan on you?

Stormyla..at the plant swaps, do people pot up their cuttings? Or are those cuttings promised for somebody ahead of time? I had planned on coming but had a Memorial service to attend of a relative in Baltimore. I know there's always more and I hope they are closer to me. Like in Montgomery, Anne Arundel or Howard counties or even P.G. county. Hint!Hint! Hint! Have read about the really nice one somebody has in Burtonsville. That's close to me.

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Chris, your chips and dip are adorable!

I'm in on the group hug!

Near Lake Erie, NW, PA(Zone 5a)

I get scanned quit often, I think I have met every Cat-scan and Nuclear scan tech the area has to offer, I would say as often as every 3 months if there is any question of a change. The bone scan is pretty cool, it looks like those mini skeletons you buy for Halloween, I could decorate all the windows in my house with them.

Billy, here is some crab to add to the dip ^^

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

ROTLL!!! I love that!

That's a lot of scans, but if it catches things early all the better!

I hope you wake up refreshed today! It's still dark here, but the birds are waking up. Here's a ((((hug)))) to go with your morning!

Thought you might like some flowers today. It is rainy and dreary here today but it is pretty warm with luck the rest of the snow will be gone by the end of the day. Take care (((Ladyg)))

Chris, since I watch Sponge Bob with the Grandkids it looked just like Mr. Crabbs to me LOL! Ohhh, the rose is pretty! Is today your day off too? I'm lost on the week again. It doesn't feel like Friday. I got confused when I thought Wednesday was Tuesday. We need another day in the week! A pause, before Wednesday resumes :o)

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

HollyAnnS, that is beautiful!

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Thanks Billyporter, That is a Roseform Begonia. I got a few last year to try I just loved them hopefully the tubers I saved will grow for me this year. Talk about losing your self in the week, I'm retired and sometimes I just have no idea what day it is. LOL

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Laughing, we're retired too. That's why were lost!

The begonia is such a bright soft color. I hope it grows for you again too!

Holly, don't know what to tell you? You are holding down the Alt key while typing on the number key pad on the right, and number lock is on.

That is a pretty begonia, I like the soft color.
We had some rain last night, overcast this morning. I'm off on Fridays. I plan on going to the post office and grocery shopping. Now that I'm feeling better I can get some cooking done.
Time to make my Irish Soda Bread, Holly, it's the one I brought to your plant swap, I make a loaf for the office to celebrate St. Patty's day, and we are doing Boss' wife's birthday dinner too.
One of the girls did a soup making marathon and brought me in 3 types of homemade soup in individual containers for my freezer so next time when I'm down I can just pop one of those into the microwave for a good meal.

No the lap top doesn't have a # pad just the #keys at the top of the keyboard. That must be the problem. I'll try it on the other computer it has a #pad. I am pretty computer challenged. LOL

My MIL got a Day of the Week "clock" . One hand, seven days. It is very cool. I could use one already. Face it no daily newspaper anymore...!
Rain rain rain here---hope everybody got something done before the rain.

Lucketts, VA(Zone 7a)

Hello Chris, hope your day is going well. Today is my Friday off, and I went to the dentist this morning. Routine cleaning, BUT... after all these years, I am getting braces. This dentist does the Invisiline (sp?) - they are clear, so you can hardly even see them. Today they did the molds for the CAD designer. Felt pretty weird. Concept is a series of plates that you wear for two weeks at a time - progressively moves your teeth. I should have my first set in about a month. I started potting up more seeds when I got home, and was hoping you were feeling well enough to do the same. Take care. Terri

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Chris, the bread sounds good. I don't think I've ever made it before. What a gret thing to do. The soup is going to taste good! I all of a sudden got hungry for chili last night. I had some in the freezer, thawed it out and 10 minutes later I had soup!

Sallyg, we don't get any papers either. We used to have kids deliver it, but no more. They don't have any news that they don't get from everyone else anyway. No one goes out reporting anymore.

Aspenhill, congratulations on the braces! I know that sounds funny, but if a person wants braces, then getting them is great!

Chris, blue skies and puffy clouds with a bonus, a sundog :o)

Billy, I posted the Soda bread in this thread you'll have to scroll down a bit but there are other recipes that might catch your eye. http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/989750/

We still get the newspaper delivered DH likes to read it. I like it for washing windows, sopping up dogie accidents, pealing vegetables over it to toss in the compost bin, using as a weed barrier before spreading mulch. I'd rather have Fox news on and get the news as it happens.

Digestive system was a bit off this AM so I changed plans and stuck near the house this morning. I went on dogie poop patrol now that the snow had melted off the patio. Raked up the bird seed that acculiminted under the feeder this winter. Fished out one deceased fish from my watergarden. Raked out one flowerbed and carted the rakings to the compost pile. Took my lunch break and changed cloths and did the grocery shopping.

Terri congrats on the braces, I had the tin grin in my 50's. It was pretty cool. I work for a general dentist and got a good deal from the ortho guy we refer to. The kids that came into the office really bonded with me then, I would also get the colored bands, and we would show then off to each other. And mom's would ask me what I fixed for dinner so they could get ideas on what to feed their kids. We also had two women patients that had really crooked teeth and decided to get barces after they talked to me. They were really glad they did it. Glad they could do the Invisaline for you.

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

Thanks Chris, I'll look those over!

DH was big on reading the paper with coffee, but he wanted it here by 5:00 am. Most of the paper boys delivered that early. Now you get it in the mail, in the afternoon. I used to use it to set cookies on after they were baked, as my Mom did. You had a busy day. Not fun sticking close to the bathroom tho. Hope that goes away!

My Mom used to work for a dentist before she was married. Before novacaine was painless. She was stronger than me.

That is so cool to have braces and bond with the kids.

It's a perfect rainy windy dreary stay in day for me today. Hope your day is what you want it to be!

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

Well I am headed off to the Garden Wise program. All day event run by the Master Gardeners there is breakfast & lunch, door prizes, vendors, and lectures. I go pretty much every year with a couple of friends. I've not been feeling quite up to snuff lately and it will be my first day out. Not sick anymore but I think I could just curl up in bed and stay there. But I know once I get going I'll be just fine.

Near Lake Erie, NW, PA(Zone 5a)

Holly, Have a great day. Report back, it sounds like fun.

Billy, was she an assisitant or office? Bet she has some great stories. We all laugh about writing a book someday, lots of good stories, but some only an insider would appricate.
Starting to drizzle, may be a good day for seedsowing in the basement.

know that you are in my prayers.

Near Lake Erie, NW, PA(Zone 5a)

Thank you Cris, eloquenicy is not necessary, most folks just feel lost for words under these circumstances. Just stop in to chat. I just believe in keeping things as normal as I can, every once in a while hitting a bump or a pot hole in the road.

Oh! Billy I forgot to tell you I love the colors in you picture, had to look up Sundog and then that opened up a lot of other beautiful pictures, thank you.

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

HollyAnnS, I'm glad yu're feeing better. The early spring colds and sinus areannoying. You'll have a great day!

Chris, she was assistant and held some people down for tooth pullings and such. Tough job back then.

I actually have a sky folder. Then I have many sub folders in it. Sundogs are fun to catch.

Billy, I can testify that Lady's soda bread recipe makes the absolute best Irish bread. My grandmother was Irish born and it's just about the only good thing she ever baked. My aunt's were always trying different recipes to see if they could improve upon her recipe. Lady's is the only better one that I've ever tasted! I raved about it so much, that she gave me quite a bit to take home!

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Chris, I've saved my first spring bloom photo for you!

Ooooo, yellow! so sunny, love that color in spring, I guess that is why daffs are a favorite of mine. I see there are some purple panseys getting ready to pop too.
Blushing about the soda bread, it makes a huge loaf be there is never any left that gets tossed out.
