We're all rooting for you Chris!
News not so good.
I'll be thinking of you today!! Hang in there, "Kitty"!

(Hm, that looks more like a rat...Somebody makes a very cute kitty symbol with the keyboard.)
When I explained vaccination to my son I told him it was like putting little soldiers in his bloodstream to look for and kill bad guys. I'm visualizing the same for those big bad chemo meds. Search and destroy.
Good luck Ladyg, I'll be thinking of you. Try crystallized ginger for the nausea.
Just to let you all know, things went really well today. I came out feeling up beat and happy. The brain scan came back clean. Dr. said that nausea will probably not be an issue for me, and so far she has been right. It is more of a mind over matter thing with this particular kind of chemo.
Thanks guys for all your well wishes, you are the best.
Sally, I like Kitty Rat . OO

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!
Oh what wonderful news! Keep up the good work!
Lady, That's wonderful news. It's back to the basement for you now!!
That is great news!!
Chris, good going. Here's to a good day! Terri
Chris, I can't tell you how happy your good news makes me. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeee!! If any of this is mind over matter, I know you have it beat.
Oh Ladyg I am so glad all went well. Keep up the positive attitude and enjoy your plant babies. Keeping you in my prayers. Holly
Thanks guys, I love sharing good news. I went to work today, even without my DG fix. LOL (they were playing around and site would not load up) Got my Neulasta injection at lunch time, worked the rest of the afternoon, came home. Started to fix dinner, and then the muscle aches started, a side effect of the Neulasta. Took a Ibuprofen with dinner, then relaxed in the lounger for a few hours. I'll be going to bed soon.
Love ya!
Chris

Chris, I really, really need to apologize :( Stormy sent me this link but I've been so busy working that I haven't been keeping up with DG in the past few weeks! First, I'm so sorry to hear that you'll have to deal with the chemo again :( But I agree with everyone, your positive attitude and sense of humor will help you through this ordeal. You know your DG family will always be here to support you and you've got plenty of friends who have that special knack for bringing a smile to your face! I'm sending hugs and prayers to you this morning. Wish we had that "group hug" here :)
Debbie, I feel the group hug every time I log on. : )
Hoping today goes well, Chris. {{{group}}}
(((((HUGS))))) May you feel good till it's over!
It has been a rough 2 days, the joint and bone pain started to set in Thursday night, Ibuprofen was not helping. Last night I took a pain pill I had left over from when I broke my wrist. I slept for 8:00 pm till 3:30 am. Since the discomfort is mild now, I went back to the ibuprofen, if that doesn't do it I'll take another pain pill and go back to bed.
My taste buds are shot too. D@%$#^
Chris, sorry to hear this :( I don't know if it's legal in PA or not but I remember watching a show on PBS reporting on the benefits of THC (active ingredient of marijuana) for chemo patients. I did a quick search and found this which might be helpful: http://www.cancure.org/help_side_effects.htm I don't know about you but those pain pills make me whacky! If the Ibuprofen doesn't help, try what I did...only half a dose of the pain pill helped with the pain and I was at least able to function. :)

Chris, a small setback. I'm glad you were able to sleep. That's the most important thing right now. Maybe the pain will lessen as the body gets more used to the chemo. Dang it anyway.
(I didn't have any luck with your African Impatiens last year, but I'm trying them again this year.)
Debbie, the link is not working but I do have a link that I look this stuff up on, it just may be the same one. (sponsored by Scott Hamilton).
I'll only resort to the whacky pain pills when I want to sleep, that way I won't get my self into trouble. That's a good idea about 1/2 a pill.
Next treatment I'll go over this with my doctor, she may try something different.
Sally (billyporter) It seems that things are getting better, I have to walk slowly and carefully but it is easier to get around then yesterday. Did the African Impatiens at least germinate for you?

Poopie on Cancer!
Hope you feel better today. {{{hugs}}}
Chris, I didn't have any luck, but I think it's my fault. My pots stay so wet. I'm going to Google them and try again. I always save seed in airtight containers for the next year, just in case. I may need bottom heat too.
Chris, sorry, I think the period after the link was messing it up. Edited it and it should work now :)
I used bottom heat and I water from the bottom too. I hope the seeds that I sent you I had stored well. Maybe try the paper towel method to see if they are viable?
Yes, I think that's what I need to do. I don't have a heat mat, but I can start them later in the spring since they will winter kill here. They are so pretty, and cheerful!
Chris, I just saw your message and read the posts from top to bottom. What wonderful friends are here for you on DG. I felt startled and sad when I read the beginning post, but the farther down I read, the more hopeful I felt. Many of the names here are ones I am familiar with even though I've never met them personally, but it's just amazing and so heartening that they reach out to comfort and protect one of their own. I join my prayers for your recovery to those of the others here and look forward to continued positive news. As many have already said, you really are amazing. God bless. Pam
Chris, Sorry to hear you've been having so much discomfort. Even if you can't taste it, just the warmth and smell of Hot Chocolate should make you feel better. Doesn't it just stink that the one time you don't have to worry about calories, your taste buds get out of wack?? Eat chocolate anyway. It's good for you!! It will make you feel better too.
You know, it just says it doesn't it? It certainly makes me smile to read it :o)
((((Big Hug for you today!!))))
I hope you were feeling up to some of this sunshine today Chris!
I went to work this morning, but left at lunch time. I guess I had had enough and resting at home sounded really good to me.
You need to pamper yourself. Do what you feel like doing. Get comfy with a warm drink and just relaxxxx. Sending blue sky and puffy clouds your way!
Getting out of the house when I felt good this morning was good for me. The work is not physical, but seeing the boss and co-worker is good for my spirits. I also saw a patient who is very concerned about me. I worked in the office where her daughter and grandchild (now grown) went for dental work. it was a good morning!
Chris, you do feel better when you're around people and I'm glad you can get out. I'm also glad you can go home. You're a strong person and I hope time flies. Here's to another good morning, one day at a time!
Another good thing, taxes are done, accountant called, we are getting a refund this year, instead of the other way around. I am going to stay home today and see how I do, I don't work Wednesdays so that will give me 2 days off.
Not getting a restful solid sleep yet but if I'm home I can go to bed if I feel like it.
I've just read thru this thread and I realize, again, how comforting these friends are so that no one needs to go thru anything alone. Like everyone else, I'm feeling for you and giving as much hope and prayer input into your circumstance.
Regards,
Teri
Get the rest you need today. Glad you have the day off. {{HUGS}}
Chris, I too reread your first paragraph. (((((A big big careful hug for you today and a powerful prayer.))))) As each one of us posts, we are sitting beside you giving our best.
Have a good day Lady!
Happy to report I got a good nights sleep last night. I called the Dr. yesterday as I has developed a rash and it started popping up in other places. Since I am on so many things it is hard to point a finger on the offending drug.
She recommended Benadryl and ibuprofen and a pill that I had on hand to help relax for sleep. I took the B & I and by bedtime I felt I was ready for night, night. It worked!
It is nice to "see' friends early in the morning §
