Okay - I do that too - when I do it! I am a lazy gardener. ^_^
What Have You Ordered 2010 #4
Here's my clem order:
1 - Alba Luxurians viticella
1 - Avant-Garde viticella
1 - Belle of Woking
1 - Carmencita viticella
1 - Ivan Olsson
1 - Justa viticella
1 - Kermesina viticella
1 - Minuet viticella
As you can see, I like the viticellas! They have performed very well for me so far.
Victor, are those perrenial for you?I cant seem to get them to take hold here.
I just ordered 10 of these Pencil Hollies. I want to line a path with them in graduated heights, in a small area. Its the closest I can get to a tree lined walkway without sacrificing too much sun in the area. They were only 3.00 each at Holly Hills.

Will be looking for photos, Victor! Jada, those are cool---have never seen them before...
Thanks Robin, I hadnt either till last year..while driving, I saw that someone had gotten rid of their lawn and had put down gravel and pebbles with these hollies in different heights like a rock garden. It was really pretty. I thought it was the best idea for a lawn substitute I had ever seen.
Yes, Joyce.
Those look like a nice idea Jadajoy. Do the deer like them? Always on the the lookout for a nice evergreen that doesn't take a lot of room but can add vertical growth to the garden.
Nice batch of clems Victor. I think the viticellas are nice too. No fuss no muss.
nice order victor
ngam, I really dont know. These Japanese Hollies are new to me too. Plus deer don't stray near here.I have a problem with voles and lately, possums.
The warm weekend got me stoked for spring. Just ordered 3 tropical water lilies. I usually avoid the tropicals because I'm not good at remembering/taking the time to overwinter them indoors. But I couldn't resist - bought one white night bloomer and one blue/lilac day bloomer for the little patio pond next to the screen porch and a cool looking mottled pink variety for the big pond. Don't know if there's enough sun in the big pond, but we'll see. Sorry - no time to go back and look up names.
Too much work to have tropicals! I stick with the hardy ones.
Nice list Victor, im with Songs, tropical is nice now and then. ^_^
I had ordered a few things and forgot I had. LOL I have 3 phlox plants that have arrived, 2 'Strawberry Daiquiri' this is a border phlox and 1 'Sherbet Cocktail' tall garden phlox.

Well isn't that a nice surprise pixie. Love when those goodies start to arrive. Usually they arrive way before I am ready for them, but it is such a nice thing to open a box and find a plant that you have been wanting has now made it's way to you and the garden.
I made a good score on Sunday when the Mid Atlantic Garden show closed. I had seen a sign at one of the exhibits stating the plants would be sold after the show. After inquiring I found they were @ wholesale prices. Cash in hand does amazing things, esp. when dealing with an exhibitor ILO a vendor. I picked up the following:
Mohonia 'bealei' , 5gal, 4-5 stems
Pieris ' japonica' , 3 gal well branched
Rhododendron ''P.J.M'. hybrid' , probably a 10 gal, 3-31/2' tall (should have had a hand truck!)
and Pulmonaria 'Raspberry Splash' , 1 gal, in flower
I walked in with $100, got my plants, bought 3 cast iron dragon flies for Holly's pond, bought steaks to grill en route home, and had money left when I got home. One heck of a day!LOL Ric
Good for you, Ric! That's the kind of day I dream about.
AWESOME haul, Ric.
Nice, Ric! I like mahonia and love pieris.
My friend tried some tropical water lilies, I want to see how she does keeping them. If she can do it I can do it. : ) Dh has a pond envisioned but I keep reminding him it's not a priority! Too much other stuff to do first. So I have some time before I can buy any.
Just ordered
TROLLIUS Ledebourii
GEUM Totally Tangerine
LOBELIA cardinalis Ruby Slipper
BERGENIA Bressingham Ruby
VIOLA Chantreyland
now going to order my geranium phaeum Samobor
Oh gosh!!! that geranium (for 2 plants) is available at Lazy SS with shipping 33.63 and Avant Gardens with shipping 30.90. What's the thoughts on these 2 companies? Does it matter who I get it from?? Both are quart size plants.
I have only orderedf rom both of them once each. I was happy with both companies. Tough call for me. Save the $3 : )
I can't wait to see if the geum I grew from seed last year .. makes it this year.. but nice choices Jen!!
Thanks, I was going to do a whole row of the geranium but it says it self seeds, so hopefully will have more next year.
my seed grown one was still tiny by the end of the season.. hope it makes it.. blazing sunset is the one

Placed a clem order with Evey:
Cl. Pinky
Cl. Teshio
Cl. Hyde Hall
Cl. Niobe
Cl. Vino
Cl. Cezanne
Cl. Chantilly
Cl. Angelique
how many does that make??
Not sure. I will update the list in the spring. I know a few have to be removed as some were AWOL last year. One problem with growing them up shrubs is they can dry out if you're not careful.
just back from costco and picked up some dwarf balloon flower, a mixed bag of purple, pink, and white ones.
cool... how do they store them... just the roots?
yup
I had no idea.. cool
Nice clem order Victor. Those dwarf Balloons are nice but don't forget to mark them because they are usually late coming up, at least here they are late sleepers. I only have blue but that is nice to find a combo of colors, good find. Orders should start arriving soon, are you all getting that pre goodie anticipation buzz too?
yes I am!!!
I got caught up in the Lily Co-op again, gee....how'd that happen? Anyways, I ended up ordering 77 bulbs but not all are mine. I was actually fairly good......this is my list.
3 Crystal Blanca
10 Pico
5 Tiger Woods
3 White Triumph
3 Free Choice
5 Love Story
10 Elgardo
5 Sophie
Then I ordered a few more shade plants....lost a few last year due to construction at my house and the monsoons we had most of last year.
1 Phlox divaricata Mary Helen -
2 Astilbe arendsii Amerika -
2 Astilbe japonica Deutschland
Glad it's finally nice out so I won't spend as much time online ordering. ^_^
So some are mine?
What would you like?? lol
