Can't wait to see everyone's wonderful bird pictures. The last thread had some beauties and if you would like to see them, go to: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1076143/
DAILY PICS, VOL. 289
Hey, Lily_love, do you have a better pic of that mystery sparrow? I can't see enough detail.
Lily, Yours is a White-throated Sparrow.
Elphaba, Thanks for starting the new thread! I also love seeing the Pine Warblers!
Hack, We're seeing lots more Robins too. They were looking for berries and our holly's have been covered with snow so my DH knocked the snow off and they were there within minutes cleaning the bushes of berries.
Nice start Elphaba...I love those Pine Warblers and I've never seen one.
You have been busy Hack, nice shots and nice variety! Your Grackle looks like a Common...ours are missing!
Lily...Your sparrow looks like a White-throated.
Nanny...From the previous thread you got five of them but there wasn't any Lincoln's. I am mean to post that shot since the missing Sparrow
is not in good focus.
Here's a Harris's Sparrow from today...I missed him for the bird count.
I love all the pictures....keep them coming.
Very nice shots adel!! I love the Spotted Towhee.
I think that if we put peanuts out for the birds, squirrels would get them all.
Nice ones nanny!
Oh I love those Ring-necked Ducks! Great shot red!
Nice shots JH!
Wow an Osprey was seen in south Jersey! http://www.birdcapemay.org/blog/
Elphaba, nice start to a new thread. I like your Red-bellied WP photo.
Nice series of photos, Hack.
Adel, excellent photos. I like the Steller's Jay and Spotted Towhee.
nanny, fine series of photos, also.
red, Ring-necked Ducks are one of my favorites ........
jhowdy, nice photos of the Kestrels. They are difficult to photograph. I often see them sitting on the electric wires but as you approach slowly and try to photograph them, they take off. I've decided to let my wife drive by slowly (not too slow) as I stick my camera/lens out of the window.
Here is the female Northern Cardinal sitting in a Hemlock.
I see by the bird map that we are the northern edge of r-b woodpecker. but I know they are in our woods.
WOW!! You guys are moving on! I'm trying to catchup after three days of work and zip right through one whole thread. There were so many beautiful shot on that thread too! Nice start here as well! Love the Kestrel photos. Maybe I'll get some shots tomorrow!
I've had nothing to post for a long time, but have continued to watch with interest and enjoyment. Linth, Rose and Dave continue to set the bar for the rest of us. Some superb shots of you beautiful birds. How good that some of you are finally getting hints that Spring is not too far away.
From Last thread, duc, that shot of the Red-tailed Hawk (post # 7564668) is fantastic. I had to resist the urge to run out the door and go and buy a 7D.
jhowdy, what a beautiful bird the American Kestrel is. Gorgeous hovering photos. Welcome, also to a very friendly forum.
I just had to go to the ospreys nest this afternoon and as I was approaching the area, a New Holland Honeyeater landed above my head. I only had my small lens and didn't have the camera set up so the colour looks a bit iffy, but at least I'm finally able to contribute.
What a gorgeous shot Margaret...a tough one to follow!! You are most kind too...thank you.
Love the variety on this thread...some really great shots!
Pelle and Nanny..on the previous thread the other bird is an American Tree Sparrow. It is at the bottom of the pic to the left of center, just below and to the right of the White-crowned Sparrow. (Don't hate me for my directions...LOL)!!
This is a Cardinal from last year...his beak is looking much better and he has no trouble eating!
Edited to say I took this pic yesterday...duh!!
