I just kept it one day
Elizabeth
Awww...kittens! They are so cute. Here we thought she was kidnapped, and she was just out on a date....or two..lol I know, she really was gone a long time, but I just had to say that
I can hardly wait to get that seed box and see what goodies are in it!
Dee
Dee
it will be worth the wait for the seedbox, there are sooo many kinds of seed, the last person kept it from Jan.27th till it got too me Monday, I sent it back out on Tuesday, just too keep it moving, the next person too get it has a bunch of Brug seeds to go into it, sooo you should get some really good seeds from it, you'll have too let me know what you get
I am sooo excited for you, as soon as you send it back out, let them know you want back on the list
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, I do plan on telling them to sign me back up, for it. I'll let you know what goodies I choose.I will send it out quickly too..maybe we can get it caught up..lol What would we do with out our plants and seeds...especially in the winter time.
Dee
Dee
I have no idea. I have too have my plants, I have had them different kinds for 32 years now, I wish I had known about Brugs 20 years ago, I love the Spring & Summer for the fragrance of the Brugs, now you're just starting with them, it's a life long obsession, sooo brace yourself
Elizabeth
When my no ID bloomed last fall, I never really noticed the fragrance, but when Frosty Pink bloomed in the dining room...oh my gosh...it I certainly noticed!...Heavenly!! I can hardly wait to have a yard full of different ones blooming.
Dee
Dee
your yard will be full, you will be spending all your time in your yard this Summer, it wil be great, one of the best fragrant
Brugs is the Versi colored orange, it was my first Brug, it's still the best, I love my doubles, but that one is always the most fragrant
Elizabeth
I have a small versi orange..oooh, I hope it blooms this summer. My husband says that I have brugs everywhere....lol..Thanks goodness he likes my plants. I keep telling him...now you know why I need a plant room! I am really glad that they are fragrant at night, because when it is real hot, I am only outside, early in the morning and in the evening...The heat just kills me :o(
Dee
Dee
that is the best time, for the Brugs to have fragrants when the sun goes down till 6 am, this Summer I will become either a night person, or early to bed, then get up at 4 am, so I can smell my Brugs, I will have them in every nook & cranny of my yard, also my DD has me going to the Farmers Market this Spring
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, once Spring comes, I will be hitting the yard at daylight. I love the early morning when all is quiet, except the birds. I can see me now, walking the yard at bed time, too, with my nostrils wide open. That Frosty Pink made the whole house smell soo good...I always spray fabreeze when I know I have company coming because I always worry that people will smell smoke(cause I smoke),. Now, I can save money on fabreeze and just put a brug here and there in the house...lol
I think taking the brugs to the farmers market is a great idea...we will have to talk prices time time, because I maybe in a spot soon that I will be able to sell off my extra plants, but I wouldn't have a clue what to ask, for them.
Dee
Dee
that's easy, you just calculate, 3 times, that's your time plus what you have in the plants, I smoke also, I quit last year for 3 months, but no one smokes in the house, because we have a 2yr old & his sister that's 8yrs in the house, we go to the basement or outside, so it doesn't smell of smoke, I am sooo glad your Frosty Pink Bloomed for you, I love when I give someone clippngs, that they thrive
Elizabeth
Talking about thriving plants. the Apricot moonflowers that you sent are growing like gang busters.
I didn't know that you smoked Elizabeth,
Dee
Dee
that Apricot moonflower grows fast, so when you see a 6ft plant out of that clipping don't be surprized, I didn't know you smoked either, but that doesn't matter, we love our plants, the last 2 days I have been working on them, I hate aphids
they seem to come out of no where, I drive down to KY every other week the smokes are cheaper there than here
Elizabeth
yeah, I used to buy cigs from Ky, too, but that was years ago.
Have you tried the systemic that Doris reccomended, yet...I think the one that I used worked...haven't seen any critters for a few days
Dee
Dee
I am going to buy that for next season, I just have to find it, I don't have them as soon as the Brugs go outside, it's just when they're in the basement, I have Forbid, I just have too mix it too spray it, it's good for spider mites & a few other things, it only take 1/8 teaspoon per gallon of water
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, when you sell at the farmers market, what size will you sell?...all sizes?
Dee
Dee
I will have all sizes, the huge ones I sell anywhere from $30.00 to $60.00 if they are Huge it's $60.00 also if they are different, last Summer I sold a Huge Jade for $50.00, the guy that bought it was sooo glad to get it at that price
Elizabeth
If we get this house elizabeth, it will be a great place to sell off extra plants, as it is on the highway.
Dee
Good Morning Girls. No snow, just cold. Are you getting ready to move, Dee? Wow! Sure would be nice, I think but a lot of work.
Hey, Elizabeth, You all ready for Sprng, I know. Guess I'll plant some coleus seed this morning, some amarylis That JT. Sent me.
Not going to WS, everytime I do the dog-gone pup has it Strung over the yard. Can't seem to break him.
Charleen
Good morning
Dee
I do hope you get that house, I hope it has a nice size yard, if it's by the highway, just plant a couple Brugs, where people can see them, you'll be amazed to have people stop traffic to ask you what is that, that's the way they do here
Charlene
not quiet ready for Spring, but I am getting there, I have been giving the Brugs MG Bloom booster, they are starting to leaf out really nice
Elizabeth
Hello, Ladies. Charleen , we are looking for a place in the country. The place we are looking at is on the highway, but it is in a little bitty town(nothing there, but a church, I think), and it has a nice big yard. Will tell you more about it, if we get it. We are going to make an offer on Monday.
Elizabeth, I was thinking a bed of brugs along the drive way might be nice..LOL or maybe across the front yard.
Dee
That's what I'm going to do girls. have show stoppers. Can I go ahead and start watering them good, now?? It won't hurt them. . I have been spraying with the recipe this morning. Lordy, does it stink?? You will like a samall town, Dee, Peace and quiet. I love it out here.
Charleen
Dee
that sounds great, that will really draw attention, that's what I do put some really pretty ones out front, you'll love it
Charlene
I have been watering mine, with fertilizer, for the last 3 weeks, sooo I would go ahead, it's time for them too wake up, you have Spring a lot sooner than Dee & I do, I have about 20 packs of Brug seed to soak, peel & plant, by the middle of March I'll have it done
Elizabeth
Mr. George, told me he didn't peel his seed, he just sticks them "in the dirt" is what he said. Maybe you can try some peeled and some not peeled and see what happens.
Charleen
Charlene
fresh seeds, you can do that with, older seeds have a cork layer on them, it would take longer for the seed to break free
these are from 2009, anyway it still takes about 2 weeks to germination after I soak & peel them, it's a good way to know they are good seeds
Elizabeth
Well, I got one more flat of petunia seeds sown today, and that's about it...It's been a lazy day, here..
Dee
Dee
that's good that you have them planted, it has been a lazy day here also, but I did get some seeds peeled, I think I will do 2 packets a day till I have them all in the mini GH
Elizabeth
Good afternoon all. snif, snif, snif, I don't have any seeds to plant, pealed or not.
Doris
I feel bad for you, I only had a few when I got the seedbox from another forum, it is always traveling, after it makes it's rounds to everyone that had signed up for it, it starts down the list again, you take out the seeds that you want, then put other seeds in then send it too the next person, oh how are your seedlings doing?
Elizabeth
