5 to 6" of snow & we lost power for over an hour last night. Missed some of the Olympics as a result. Did see all the American skaters.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 63
Spent a glorious day entirely outside doing a big burn along with lots of pruning and general clean up. Which meant endless trips to the burn pile with tons of wood. We did the first pile today using only pine from 2 big trees that had died. I wanted only pine ash, am taking garbage cans full of the left over pine ash to Boston to use in pottery glazes. Recycling is good. It got up to about 38 F. with the sun out most of the day. DH will do another burn tomorrow, but I am heading to Boston, so I can't help. But I toted, with the help of my Brooklyn pal, all the brush that needs burning to right near the spot where we burn, so it will be an easy day for him. Patti
Now
wind is out of the W at 17 MPH
Visibility 10 miles
overcast
Temperature 33.1 F
Brooklyn people are good at arson.
Been recovering from our drive on Mon. 3hr trip took 6 to get home! Central OH got 10" and they aren't use to that much. With Lake Erie frozen, it shuts down the lake effect machine. Yeah!
my sister lives in Avon Lake.. I don't know how you guys do it
She gets more lake effect than I do. We cheer when it's done.
the first year she moved there... got 10" her first snow.. the garage door froze closed and she couldn't get the car out.. didn't have a snow blower.. poor girl shoveled for hours and after that learned real quick what the deal was.. before that she lived in Wooster and it wasn't nearly as bad
33 now going to 36
Never lived close to a lake to experience the lake effect, (luckily), lol!
32°, windchill 23°, wind W12mph, cloudy
wasn't too good owning her own business and can't get to the store to open it.. doggie day care needs her

28 and i'm off to ski now:)
Geez Jumper2, you can't catch a break this year! We've hardly had any snow here...it's been a mild winter for us. Everything has landed South of here, never made it up this far.
We've been very lucky this year.
32 here now, says we may hit 42.....there goes the rest of our snow I hope.
Mostly cloudy right now. Sun should come and go and push temps to the low 40s from 32 degrees that it is at present. Very light NW wind.
J-2 lives west of Cleveland so doesn't get as much snow (she's at work now). For the real lake effect (different lake) try Buffalo. Some of our ocean effect snow this winter in NE MA hasn't made us too happy.
39, sunny and very windy.
I grew up in NE and went to school in Ithaca, NY, so snow dosen't bother me much. Just the stupid drivers do. Some years we get more than others.
Over 40° Sunny
Snow is slowly melting here with 44 degrees low was only 31, we did have a few flurries last night. Calling for mix of snow and rain Monday night.
Over 40 here as well---didn't get outside, though, as we had a friend over for lunch, & most of the afternoon. The snow is shrinking, but not fast enough for me---loved Patti's photo---just a tiny bit of snow.
I didn't check the temp today, but it must have been a bit warmer cuz the snow still on the driveway started melting. So slushy that I couldn't even make it up the hill in 4 wheel drive. Left the car at the bottom and had to walk up. Didn't have the inclination to get out there and replow. By 0dark4:30 tomorrow morning when I leave for work, I'm sure it will be all ice and I'll do the old slip and slide attempting to walk back down the hill. So much fun...
It was in the 40s today. A lot of melt so our last 6" snow is melting down towards the previous icy crust. It is just the better feeling when you hear the melt.
34°, windchill 11°, wind WNW 23mph, partly sunny
Possible storm Monday.
A lone bird was singing at 6:10am; a welcome sign of things to come.
Mostly cloudy, 30 degrees and light NW wind. A little snow flurry right now, but it should not amount to anything. High in the mid 40s, yeah! Weekend looks good and the snow is melting.
36 now going to 38.. we should get some melt this weekend as well
30 here and rising
Was up to 40 here yesterday, 30 now with high's of 39 today, possible snow shower.
39 here and sunny, so more melt today. Still can't see any ground.
Will be 40 here today---I have the window open---- I share this room with my stinky dogs --and I can hear birdsong---sounds like the goldfinches who are getting just a little more yellow. The willows should be getting more yellow soon, the maples, purple--I smell spring!
woo hoo!!!
the wind is nuts today
Snow showers this morning but DH cleared off the front porch & the driveway with his garage broom to help with melting ice as the temp. rises. Bright & sunny.
38 and cloudy. Hoping for the best on Monday.
just in from xc-skiing - boy was there a lot of melting - may get one more day out of it although i will have to alter where i go as i was doing some walking on one trail in a lot of sun.
I'll start a new thread shortly.
Very windy here again.
36° & windy
The sun has beat off the clouds for the present and the wind has become quite gusty, still from the NW. Temp has climbed to 37 degrees. Can see some bare ground out front again, back yard still all white but melting.
Very windy here, 44 but with the wind it's 37
