Today's Weather in Your Garden - 63

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

hope you are ok Patti

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

OUCH! Take it easy tonight.

We're in a band that's to get a mix, but mostly rain, ICK - on top of what we have on the ground. Not liking that. I'd rather have snow instead of rain tonight. Maybe 1-2" We'll see what happens.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Keep that leg elevated and iced Patti! Similar to what happened to me in Oct., and I am still limping around! Hope you fare better!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh boy. Sorry to hear, Patti. Keep icing it. Will hurt tonight and tomorrow.

Thanks, Allison.

South Hamilton, MA

And have the heardstone painted so you see it. Hope your leg heals soon.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Thanks all, I am laying down with it iced, but of course I didn't do it right away and now I have a big bump, plus I skinned a big spot raw. But it is my back that really hurts and my arm which I must have landed on. Dumb.

It is such a pretty day outside, that I hate to miss being outside. I bought my self a nice valentine gift yesterday, a twelve foot fiskars pole lopper with a saw blade. But now I will not be able to use it until Weds. Dang. I will report how I like it. It is very light with a rotating head and no ropes. But we shall see if it was worth 85.00.

It is 37* out now with a few light clouds. Here is a cheery picture from today. Snowdrops(Galanthus) are starting the bulb season off. Patti

I've seen that. Looking forward to your review! Feel better. Maybe you can use to reach the freezer for an ice bag??

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

It just started snowing here, we're supposed to get 4"s. Had the grand-babies today ages 15 & 24 months, Holly just left to return them to daughter after work, and take her dad to a Dr's appointment. I'm supposed to meet her at 6 for gym and dinner, I'm not sure I'm going out with the snow and all. I think I'll run down to the barn for another bucket of coal and take a nap instead, playing on the floor all day wears me out! LOL Ric

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

In case you did not hear/read this over the weekend, the top UK climatologist, who headed up the organization that was the primary 'keeper of the data' that much of the global warming / climate change screamers based their arguments on, admitted that there has been essentially no warming for the past 15 years! This is on top of all the other scandals coming out of that place. Amazing.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I didn't hear that Victor... amazing isn't it???

just started snowing not long ago

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Our local meteorologist, who is something of a celebrity, says that he gets very frustrated when everybody blames everything on global warming when he says it's actually part of a documented cycle.

That having been said, when I was a kid it always got down into the -40's. I've been told that the winters there are much warmer. And ice bergs that used to come right out into the sound, where the ferries and tour ships could see them, are miles into the distance. Something's changing . .

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Whether it's global warming or not there's nothing wrong in not messing up the atmosphere for the sake of increased monetary profit. and there's nothing wrong in finding alternative fuel sources as quickly as possible in view of the present and likely future political/military climate.
In any event the world will be inherited by the youth, not by us, they will suffer the economic, political and environmental consequences whatever they may be...
(just my humble opinion ☺)

26° and snow is in the forecast.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I agree, but those are separate issues, though related.

I've spent a tidy sum converting to solar and a pellet stove, but bogus is bogus, and forcing draconian measures down our throat that might well finish us off economically borders on the criminal in my mind. How much worse would this recession be if we had adopted the measures that were being called for???

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Well it's a good thing I don't have kids cause I'd hate to gamble with their future for the sake of the almighty dollar...

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I don't follow. What's being gambled?? And for whose dollar? Do you believe the measures that were being called for were for the good of humanity?!! It was for the Chinese, the Indians, Europeans and the rest of the world to gain by our loss.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Well the problem is global warming means just that, 'global'. Everyone is affected politically, economically, militarily. To 'gamble' would mean to dismiss what many respected scientists have warned us about. As was true a few thousand years ago when confucious made his point, roughly translated:~ 'If for every one I can find that will agree with me you can find one that can disagree and for every 500, you can find 500 and for every 1000 you can find 1000 where would we be? -but at the same point we that we started in the first place??
(lol!)

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I still think no matter what we do... it's all a part of evolution... we can't stop it.. ask the dinosaurs

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'll be happy with that! (Many respected scientists disagree with this alarmism.)

The exact same arguments that are being used were used only decades ago by respected scientists - warning of cooling!

We should certainly get away from dependence on petroleum that makes us slaves to countries that hate us. That's a no-brainer. And I'm doing more than my share!

Back to the current weather - 32, no snow yet. ^_^

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I seem to be a show stopper in every forum.. maybe I should log off

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hee hee! No, you're good. We're just 'self-policing', right, WC!

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)
