Gulf Coast Round Up

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

Any epi's I left outside are gone....I brought several pots into the greenhouse...so I'm supplied with starting material!

Thanks Becky! nothing ventured....nothing gained.....I appreciate you takin' the time to dig 'em for us!

Charlene,....if you have enough left over,...could you bring me one of your blackberry plants, please?

Josephine.....I'm almost envious of YOU.....involved with the native plant sale......we really need a time machine or "transporter"
so we could make multiple events in the same day.....oh well...dream on little dreamer,...dream on

Willis, TX(Zone 8b)

BTW - the Epiphyllum strictum I have (wonderful fragrance....blooms at night)....I can provide several rooted starts (I made new starts this past fall)....that is if anyone would like one....l'll put it on my "Have " list

Buffalo, TX(Zone 8b)

I must really be lagging on things, but please tell what is an epi?

Lee, you got the blackberries.

Beck, would you like anything else, since Lyle is good on the blackberries? I got a hug for ya, but I would like to bring you something to take home. LOL

Charlene

Looks at this point that cold was too long but I have small loquat starts and of course the always needing thinned liriope.
If anyone is brave enough, I also have the cashmere bouqet. The next few weeks may show survival changes....sure hope so.

OK. This is going to happen! We need to select a time for the festivities to begin. What do you all think about 10 AM? That gives everyone some travel time. Or is that still too early?

Also, we will, of course, be having a pot luck around noon. I'll bring all the plates, cups, plastic ware, napkins, and ice chest with ice. Also peach iced tea. And some food - I don't know what yet.

Please let me know what you think about the time.

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

10 am sounds good to me..it will allow some of us (like me) traveling not to have to get up at 0 dark 30 to get there in time...lol....better start a food thread soon...lol...

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

ten sounds great to me!!

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

Annette - You must have hit the insert key on your keyboard accidentally.

Okey dokey, Marylyn!

Can we use this for our food thread, or do I need to set up another?

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

Id set up another thread for the food so its not all jumbledm and stuff doesnt get lost

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Marylyn is setting up a food thread for us. Watch for it....

And - for door prizes: Please bring a door prize for each member of your party. That way we will have enough for everyone. Thanks!

Blkraven...I have some, but I can't bring plants to the Woodlands RU. If you don't get any please ask on the Jacksonville or Arlington trade pages and I will have it there.

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

I have never been to one of these but would love to come to this one and bring my DH. Don't know if I will have anything to bring as my beds look kind of sad right not. Can I just come and bring whatever I have extra that pops up between now and then without posting haves and trades?

Bonnie

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

Kim - I'm sure sorry you won't be able to come. I was looking forward to calling you Dr. Blue Eyes. Hoping all goes well with the goat mommy.

Missouri City, TX

dgal, I have over 2 gallons of dried chili pequin - I will bring a baggie for you (any any one else that wants some). My old chili pequin pepper "tree" (it was about 8) - trunk was over 5 inches in diameter -died last year, but birds and wind and gravity hsa provided me with more plants along the fence. They are dormant now, but will be back in production soon.

Also, I will bring some plastic buckets - mostly 27 - 35# Tidycat litter, but with tight lids.

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

bubba, I be greatful for a baggie of peppers and Id love some of the bucket s if you have some to spare.. I can offer ee casting or onion basket or concrete planter in trade

Guess I'll bring the big container and a box of ziplocks.

Anyone want to try growing some horseradish? I can dig up one of mine and have enough root for several. I put them in the wrong place in my garden - too much nitrogen, so they do not have one root, but many. Still makes some great sauce- just grate or chop fine. Even the leaves are good - adds a punch to a mess-o-greens.

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

I planted some last spring but never dug it up cause I wasnt sure when to do it.. now I know I do it in the fall..lol

(Becky) Colmesneil, TX(Zone 8b)

Bubba.. can I get a start of the horseradish?? Thanks!! Let me bring you something in trade!

Wells, TX(Zone 8b)

bonnie.. I attended my first RU last spring and didnt have alot to trade with, mostly crafts Id made.. but I came home with a truck load of stuff!! the people here are VERY GENEROUS so I can almost guarentee you you will go home with "stuff" no matter what..lol.. the food is great and the company even better so please come and join us..

Has anyone talked to Charlene recently? I tried to Dmail her a few days ago and haven't heard from her....nor seen her on the trade threads......hope everything is OK!

The Woodlands, TX(Zone 9a)

I saw her over on that other place today. She's busier than a one armed paper hanger, with co-ops and ebay sales.
