A white car in snow ^_^ It won't see daylight for a while....

That's a great title, Bec. Love the shot of your car.

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7a)

Bec, great shots all - hope you'll find your car after things freeze over tonight! (Assuming that IS your car?) Also, in #6, is that a hummingbird feeder?

Gonna add some of my snow shots here, since this topic header is so cool!

This is actually the first pic I took as things were piling up yesterday (Friday). This little statue isn't very tall, so it might be days before I see him again!

One of the earlier shots I took this morning, of a brave little Downy female, at the suet feeder. This was about 10:40 AM.

A longer shot out back, showing how things are piling up, as the snow continues to fall. Taken just before 2 PM.

Snow piling up on the bird bath and sundial. Lots of piling up going on! Taken just before 2 PM today.

DH, my hero, ^_^, out shoveling around 2:30 today, while the snow was still falling. For perspective, he's 6'2" tall. This was some deep snow!!!

The very tall euonymous out back, completely bent to the ground by the snow. It's really tall - not sure how tall, but we need a stepladder to try to trim the top! If I could get to it, it'd be easier to trim now... LOL!

This is a somewhat ratty Yew "tree" that looks gorgeous every time we have snow - like something from the Rockies or the Black Forest ... of Northern VA! ^_^

These limbs belong to a huge oak tree out front, and are about 30 feet off the ground; the snow on them was at least a foot high. This was a very wet snow - we are so fortunate to have power!

It finally began to clear off just before sunset tonight...

As the sun was getting ready to set, my little sun stake was trying to hold its head up...

And I had to include this - snow piled on top of one of my homemade bird baths (plant saucer on a plant stand - the small birds love it). It looked like one of the "Coneheads" from 'Saturday Night Live', and I loved the pink cast to the snow as sunset approached.

Finally, a gorgeous pink sunset as the day ended... Our decidedly unscientific snow total was 24".

How did everyone else fare? Let's see your pictures and hear your stories!

Love the picture of your sweetie out there shoveling away the snow. The power of this storm was amazing.

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7a)

Thanks, Pam.He certainly got a good workout today! I fear a lot of his efforts will be for naught once a snowplow comes through and blocks the driveway with a 4 foot wall of snow. Then there's the little matter of getting our cars uncovered...

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

Great Pix Diva! Love your Conehead. I have a big fat one of those, my fire pit. I put a plant saucer of seeds on it a couple of times today.
This one was definitely a doozie. I've been busy today and took no photos.

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7a)

Hey stormy, Glad you liked the Conehead - it spoke to me too. Good idea to put seeds on top of your fire pit thing - I should have done something like that.

Well, I was busy taking photos and got not much else done - LOL!

Haven't seen sally posting today - hope her power stayed on... Anne Arundel county really got slammed, I fear.

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

She may have had to go stay at her mom's. She was afraid she might.

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7a)

Ah - OK - just worry when someone is "MIA". But certainly understand that she would need to be at her Mom's during this mess! Thanks for the info.

Posted one of these on the other thread...
This is the path leading into the white witch's Narnia, once you leave the lamp post.

Glad you put that great photo here too, so more people can see it. What a wonderful shot!

That's a different one!

Here's the one I posted over there...
This is walking back to the lamp post!

I really liked your cardinal flowerjen!

Falls Church, VA(Zone 7a)

VWR, maybe it was on the Photography forum, then? I'm pretty sure I saw both the before and after pix. That one of the creek is great too. Somehow the water makes it look REALLY cold.

flowerjen, love those big evergreens - like giant Christmas trees!

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

it looks like you guys have been filming in black & white!!

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

That "other" place maybe???

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

LOL, get over to that other place and post some of those wildlife photos!! LOL

Central, VA(Zone 7b)

Yes, yes, these do look like black and white.

Our wonderful neighbor is plowing our drive right now with his John Deere, so we'll be able to get the car out. It's 1000' to the road. I've learned that along with many other things, home ownership (especially in a rural area) is for young and physically fit folks, not people our age!

Norristown, PA(Zone 6b)

OH goodness, Pam. A 1000 foot driveway would really be a challenge. Do you leave a vehicle up near the road when snow is coming?
