Audrey, you'd be surprised how many women benefit from those pre natal vitamins.. loaded with iron and folic acid... not only for mums to be.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Visit with friends...
Lunch was terrible. We went to Chili's, and they have all new items. No more chimichuri sauce for the fajita's, no more cocktail sauce for the shrimp... I told the manager they need to get those items back, or I won't be back. Pretty sad when they change things on ya! Half a rack of ribs, was only 5 rib pieces!
Audrey, I sure hope she can mail you your meds. You need to have them.
Ouch LK. Don't understand why they can't leave things alone if they're customers' favorites!! So.. I bet they don't have that spinach and artichoke dip huh?
Well Betty and ladies...and Tubby.... have a great evening.
I'm going up there on the 8th, IF it's not bad weather. I'll get them then. The pharmacy sent me replacements.
Ahh.. misread.. you didn't go to Applebee's but Chili... sorry LK :D
That's another restaurant I've not been to in a while.
Later everyone.
Hi...Taking a break!
LOL...really DH finally went for his Therapy, woopie, ran right computer to see what you all are doing. Plus, I worked on some invoices which were put off till project got done.
ROFLOL Betty, Steve don't have a choice when it comes to messes, because I am the one who cleans Everyone's messes!
Giggle, giggle my motto is, As long as I live in Your mess, you can live in mine...
Which brings me to tell you a funny story! LOL, bet you missed my story of the day, eh? LOL
On Monday Morning, Steve awakes takes the kids to school, allowing me to sleep in! Nice huh?
Then he makes me a nice breakfast, which I thought was real sweet. So I continue with project, as well as continuation of cleaning house and keeping up with laundry in between, In meantime he continues with his paper mess and phone calls etc. By the time we eat breakfast, he says you know I think i am going to go the house!! Ahhh, so thats whats up. I said well I suppose if thats what you want to do. OMG, He looks at me all puppy faced and says well I am sooo bored! Talk about laughing out loud, that I did and said are your kidding me! With all the stuff that needs to be done around here. We got Bahama mamma party coming up, you got a basement full of tools that you started cleaning, Oh here why don't you clean off your dresser?!? and my list went on for a good 10 minutes. ROFLOL, He stood there looking at me with that thin line across his lips and says yeah I guess your right. LOL, so he does nothing about anything I suggested. But he DID finally replace Julia's door, which as you know, was a disaster and he's been going to fix it for like 5 years! Then, He cleaned out the closet in the shrine, he decided it is going to be his Company file bin! Which is excellent, to get all his bins off my floor!...So he then Plastered and put shelves up another project in the start...Now he has decided to make the entire shrine his office, alrighty then, meantime, I now have tools all over the place again....Julia came home from school and was so impressed and happy he finally fixed her door...As she stood there watching him work they got into discussion and I hear her burst into laughter. So...snuck over to evesdrop and I hear him telling how he wanted to go to the house. She said well how come you don't...LOLOL he said I made the mistake of telling mom I was bored! LOL, as story circled through everyone, Kids were all laughing saying don't you know never ever tell mom your bored!
Well how perfect because everyone now into cleaning spirit! Kids cleaned their rooms, except for Jake (he's never home) They are trashing junk left and right. All i can say is yippeee, I love winter boredom...The only bummer is i am subject to listening to their LOUD music, but i guess if it helps them to stay focused.
Jaye, in answer to your question, LOL it's been quite a while, actually a year! hehehe, next I'll be doing the same thing around this time.
But the cool thing is...Spring cleaning is done by my birthday so i can play the rest of the time....if we were neighbors, i am afraid either nothing will get done or we would tag team with each other's stuff and that would be a blast.. OMG, bet Steve and Kel would get along spendidly and he does want a new "kitchen" towel much like What I've made...Teeheee.
For all of crafter's Well, got to make a big mess to create such pretties. And work is wherever we do it. I remember Betty crafting at my Kitchen table, lol because there was no room at craft table, plus she was visiting with Steve while he was cooking!
Barb, forgot to say how Incredible your Quilt came out!! Sooo pretty.
Crissy, are your enjoying your day?
Audrey, yikes Glad your feeling better.
Big Smiles Tubby!!
Oh yeah, also wanted to show you my table that Jacob made in woodshop!
oops gotta run for a bit.
Jaey
Howde to you.......................
I'm doing fine.....................
Tubby
Afternoon you chatty people...I'm home, did my stop at Fabricland, came downstairs to feed the furries, OMG Judy, have to take photo's of my mess..lol..tell Steve I've organized my tools, keep buying, not using, but lordy they look pretty on the self..making my own Canadian Tire...
Yep, remember painting at your table and couldn't get over that Steve worked an entire day and still wanted to come home and cook late at night! Has that changed now that you've become a full time homebody?????
Ohhh Bahama party coming soon in a neighborhood near you...your place will be swinging...
Tell Jacob he's got a future in carpentry and woodworking...love the cabinet...
Audrey, you must remember NOT to leave your meds..can be deadly...doesn't really matter about the house being messy when you are creative and less a problem when you live on your own..I'm lucky I've a 3 rooms downstairs I use, can't call it my sewing room because they house every type of crafting interests..but, do like everything somewhat organized, on my way to almost being there then I go start a few projects and voila, instant mess as I've said before...
Has anyone heard from Trisha or Debbie???
Jaye it's so nice to see your posts, have missed you...
LindaKay, sorry to hear you didn't get your favorite foods, disappointing for sure, but for me, anything I don't cook has to be special...lol...did you get your 2nd packet?
While at Fabricland there is a little area set aside for eats so I picked up Chinese Food, going to take my bath then to the couch I'll go..my thought is I'll be up early in the morning and start sewing then when I'm not tired..
Waving Tubby...
Gab in a bit
Judy, that is a story and a half! Way to go.
No Betty, no second package yet.
Hi Betty. I am here, just thrown from being sick, and doing nothing but sleep, back into the non- stop errands and trying to catch up on all the house work and stuff that piled up.
Thurday's are Laura's training day for her new job....we leave here no later than two in the afternoon to allow for traffic etc. She is in training from four until nine so I have five hours to kill......you can only do so much window shopping so I have been taking projects to work on and sit in the car listening to my favorite radio station while I work.
Still tired from the cold....and sitting in the car for hours at a time don't help. It is after eleven when we get in. Sure will be glad when things settle down.
Next Thursday will be lots of fun. My sis comes in to SeaTac at ten in the morning...by the time we pick her up and have lunch and get back to Olympia it will be time to take Laura up there...her training place is less than ten miles from the airport. Going to be a very long day.
Right now I need to get some things out for dinner, take the dog out, then I need to go down town and see if the gals at Canvas Works can help me translate the pattern for Sage's Snugglie....I am up to doing the arms and the instructions are not making any sense at all....I am six skeins into the project so I am not giving up yet.
Waving to all, will try to ge back a bit later... at least I am feeling human again!
glad to see you post Trisha...think you are exhausted, most likely that's half the problem...is Laura enjoying the training? when will she be starting on her own?
will be a long day but am sure you'll have a great visit with your sister...what is SeaTac????
Is a 'snugglie' a sweater type project...hope you get some help on it...my problem a lost of the time when I'm doing a knitting pattern is reading ahead of where I'm at, then I get confused..someone once told me NEVER/never do that...
Getting ready to call it a day...
Best..knowing I've an entire weekend to just relax
Worse...getting in mega trouble with my boys...sister Sharon called me and we chatted for about an hour..telephone beeped 2 or 3 times but I ignored it, knew it couldn't be that important and as my sister was gabby thought I'd keep talking...
Was just going to say goodbye when I heard Greg come in yelling 'mom/mom' gee whiz, I was only in the bedroom...he said Jeff had been trying to call me and there was no answer, why didn't I answer my telephone...Greg is home tonight in bed sick, got Jeff's call and rushed over...wasn't happy!!!
Worse: I'm to learn that I have to let them know if I'm not home, let them know if I'm going somewhere so if they call and there is no answer they'll not worry....
Outcome....as if I'm going to do that...
Greg said there was nothing wrong with me just sitting on the couch and doing my crafts, painting etc and he didn't want to see me outside shovelling...I've grandchildren and children to do that..I'd better start to realize I'm not 21...shaking my head here, what do these kids think I am..
Sooo and here I'm laughing, if I can't do anything then I might as well go to bed....but then, Greg said Jeff would call me later to make sure everything is alright...so, guess I've got to stay up..LOL kids, do you want a couple?
You raised smart sons there Betty, listen to them!!
Crochet if you must, but don't do anything that will send them running to tie you down.
Thought my night will be easy since I found out from the vet that Lola will be okay... nope.. Kel is throwing up now.
Bad case of stomach flu. Kel rarely gets sick, and his stomach is made of iron. Guess even the iron man do fall ill.
So good night everyone. Keep warm and waving to Tubby!
Betty, Laura is already making some calls on her own and enjoying it.
But isn't it nice to know your kids care?
SeaTac is the Seattle Tacoma Airport.
The Snugglie is a crochet version of the Snuggies they advertise on TV...the blanket with arms!
Jaye, glad Lola is better, sorry to hear Kel isn't feeling well. Give my best and tell him to get better soon.
Hugs to All -
Betty - If my kids turn out like YOURS!?!?! I will feel VERY Relieved !
I hope they all care if I don't answer the phone.....
Mary
Morning...
Oh no Jaye, we have a flu epidemic here, even the hospitals are only taking in the more serious cases, visitors prohibited from visiting, good portion of the staff are off, brought in nurses from 200 miles radius to help cope so not a thing not to be concerned about...he won't like being down for a few days...don't even think there are meds to help with? just lots of fluid..
Trisha, the more calls Laura makes the more confident she'll be..must be a relief for her to be working again..
your project sounds interesting, once they give you directions, you'll say to yourself, now I knew that...
and yes, I've good boys, just as long as they don't think they'll be picking out a home for me shortly...lol
If I thought it was cold yesterday , today is even worse...you touch the handle of screen door and it almost sticks to it..brrrr...even the furries won't go out this morning...
I'm going to get an early start this morning and get my Feb/March blocks done so I can post them Monday...then it will only leave April and May is the month I receive my blocks and the last of 12 month block swap..almost there...not so sure I liked the 12 month commitment..rather enjoy swaps here and there...
Morning Betty, Wow, sure sounds like you all have lots of flu up your way. It is not too bad here, but I did hear on the news yesterday, that there is a breakput of whooping cough that is pretty bad. So they are warning everyone, if you have a cough to stay home. Will they listen, probably not!
Yeah, that monthly swap is almost over. It was definately a challenge for some of them.
Stay warm today, and take it easy, no shoveling for you.
Just got back from Fabricland...talk about cold LindaKay...hardly anyone outside or shopping, just crazies like me...certainly made good on my shopping at Fabricland...
Got Melanie (DIL) the sewing box and a few sewing tools, throughout the year I'll pick up odds/ends for her, by Christmas it should be filled.... a couple of years ago I bought her a sewing machine and she's been sewing ever since..she just doesn't have the toys..lol...great sales, the box was $42.99 on for $12.99..clippers usuall $8.98 on for $1.00 curved seam rippers usually $19.98 on for $4.00 and the rag quilt clippers usually $19.98 on for $4.00 ...I bought all they had left but she told me in 2 weeks is membership 50% off sale so will have to go back...
Just gabbing as I'm typing with Sharon my sister, they've a fabricland in Georgetown so she's going to go look to see if they have them on sale and purchase a few for herself...and more for me lol can't have too many goodies when you join swaps right?
Meant to add LindaKay, had whooping cough once and thought I'd die..lordy that's nasty!
Yep, in for the weekend now, as long as I don't get sidetracked...
Betty, looks like you got some nice sale items there! Nice going.
Almost afternoon here and the weather brought us icy rain.
Normally I would complain about it, as I do want to go to that apron exhibition today... but I thank God for it.
Kel is forced to close his shop, and if not for the sleet.. he won't be recuperating from his body liquid expulsions (nicer descriptives) last night!!!
Yep Betty, just liquids and later I'll get him some Pedialytes to replenish lost minerals.
Don't have a Fabricland, nor Joann's, nor Hancock's here. But unlike LK, I am lucky to have now, 3 quilting stores. The only WM in town closed its' fabric dept.
I agree with you. Think I'll stop joining those year long commitments and just stick to swap. With what's going on in mine and DH's real world, I hate to disappoint people. Swaps are easier.. just require shopping time or online time and then mail off...
LK, I'm home bound for a while.. think I'll start piecing the pieces!!!
Hey there Mary!! I'm ready for the Who Dat!!! Should have been back to Cajun Country for that big game.
I just got through reading this and I think I'm going to cry.......
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1072712/
Good Morning..or afternoon!
Yay got my towels in the mail! Yikes I was going to send priority but holy mackerolies, would have been 5.15 a piece! so opted to go first class and that was a reasonable 1.90! Hopefully the ladies will receive quickly.
That whooping cough sounds horrible. Hope that isn't what you have.
Big bummer Kell and Lola are ill. Give kel a giant armwrap and tell him to rest up.
Well I have to finish up the craft area. Joined the Spring fling swap. Already got something in mind to make. LOL, craft table looks lonely.
Betty, nice buys there. Is that blue fabric? it's so pretty. With tit being so cold it's kind of nice to be indoors sewing or whatever.
Good luck with finishing your blocks, can you send a link so I can go looking at what you all have created.
Waiving Hi Trisha, sorry you were so sick. Glad to see your feeling better. Sounds like your snuggle is going to be very nice for Sage.
Yo, Liz! Whatchya up to??
Hi Mary, Tubby, Debbie...
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1066117/
Judy, this is for January blocks, but you can find the links to all the patterns we have picked out. You can also go to the sewing forum, and look for the block of the month swaps. Lots of pretty designs, and colors!
Yikes, shouldn't have sat on the chesterfield having my lunch, ok, so I put my head down for just a sec and now it's 2:35..drats..if I can wake myself up I'll get back to the schedule..to think just going to town tired me out...shouldn't have rushed back...
Judy, I've gone for surface mail recently and seems to get there in record time...laughing here..sent out a bunch of packets for the thread catcher..LindaKay didn't get her..think I sent it out mid.Dec. well she got it the other today..just the other day I sent her another because obviously the 1st one was lost and she received it today..who can tell what route they take...think shipping was around the $2.00 mark as well, now that's not bad from Canada...mind you it was a light package...
Shhhh don't tell anyone, might get someone in trouble, but because I joined the valentines day swap I got my name early so that my swap package might get there by valentines day..oh/oh..mailed it same day as Linda Kays...sure hope they delay it by a few days otherwise I'll be in trouble...just kidding...
Linda Kay, no the armrest pattern nor the thread catcher pattern were included, just the afhan instructions...
You really didn't need a pattern for either as I gave complete step by step instructions on how to do them...if you've lost the thread here you go...
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1063731/
I'm around if you need any clarification..you know how it is when you know how to do something .. you just ramble on .. let's hope the instructions were clear though...
Jaye, can you take photo's at the exhibit? bet those you've all created would give them a run for their money...
Judy, I've got something in mind for my spring swap as well, can't tell you though until I get my name because who knows, might get yours...and yes, it's something I can do that doesn't use up energy...
Liz, are you joining the spring fling? have to go back and see who had my name last year..do remember I got loads of treasures, think many were for my garden...
No crying Barb, good Lord must have a reason..can't see that someone would purchase such a site and not have great plans for it's future, besides with all of us still here, nurturing each other don't you think we'll be ok?
I just have to go look how cold it is, brrr furnace going , 2 fireplaces and I'm almost tempted to put the micro furnace on....
Maybe it's me...only -18
afternoon all,
jaye nice to see you here hope kel feels better soon..
no betty, holding out for r/w/b lol
how are you feeling?
judy lol in search for skunk so if you hear me hollaring
i found it !
i packed that hole full of dirt put a heavy duty brick
and it moved all of it geeez so got to get up the nerve to open the sheads to see if it perhaps dug in one or lets hope its in someone elses yard crossing fingers.
barb, it is sad lets hope it all works out been following that myself and i still cant believe it.
tubby how are you doing working on anything
hi mary, crissy and everyone else
well i on a mission
have a good day..
Thanks for the link LK!
Barb, I am Wowwed at your Craft room. Love the quilted art piece. Do you hand quilt them or on the machine?
Well, lol,I will have to check out the other page(s) to see some blocks.
You know I have seen the paper piecing on a tv show, thought it was real cool. I am a bit confused as to why you need paper though. I mean isn't it the same as making a block without paper??
Oh My gosh, i have got to start hanging out in the sewing rooms more often, Good to See a couple of Sistahs, Jance and Debra!!
Aw Betty, I hope your swap gets to designation in good time.. Got to say too, usually First class moves pretty well. So I will just have to watch the thread...I am hoping some should start recieving at least by tues....
LOLOL Had a realization stike last night. My month Feb # 2 and had to make 11 towels, hehehe date ring a bell??? giggle, giggle my Birthdate! I am such a nut, was cracking myself up...
Oh just heard from Steve, Jake won 2 matches and was going for the Champ!! So i hope he does well. If he wins then most likely will be going to State!
Hiya!!
I don't have time to catch up right now, but I do want to tell you it's finally above 32*, we're at 32.4!
Here are pictures of when it started, during the ice, sleet, snow storm, and this morning after. You'll notice last night's pictures ended with a couple inches of sleet, this morning started with a couple inches of snow.
http://picasaweb.google.com/christinepix/20100129#
I keep thinking today's Sunday LOL!!
Oh Betty, because some people voted that Legislature be in session every year, we no longer get President's Day off anymore. :*(
Hy Liz, MY gosh, keeping fingers crossed you find that skunk, wow moved the block too? That a pretty strong skunk.
Well amazing how animals "fight' to keep their residences. Yikes, would be so much better if was in neighbors tho...
Well Up date...Jake Won the Championship!!!
Congratulations to Jake!!!! Yay, Yay, Yay!!!!
Jump in on the sewing forum Judy You'll love it there too..
Yeh Jake....bet the household will be jumping tonight...yep your birthday is right around the corner..get a kick out of you, we both make such a big deal of it with the family..when Jeff called this morning saying he was on his way downtown Toronto to look into purchasing a kayak for his 2010 trip, I gasped at the price, could almost purchase a car for same..sooo in my motherly way, told him NOT to spend all his money, MOM needed a wii and wii fit for her birthday..even told him how many days were left...he got a chuckle out of that one..he was to go to Mont Tremblanc in Quebec skiing with a bunch of friends this weekend but he stayed home as he wasn't feeling the best..sickness going around..for him, it's because of the long hours, no home cooked meals etc...just laughed and said if I was trying to talk him into taking a wife, forget it!
So here's my corner of the world as it stands...
I've got 25 scrap bags well underway
Crissy, ice storms are the worse...so much damage can be done..hard to see mature trees with limbs all broken..hope it warms up and the worse has passed you by...are you and Dave relaxing today? Oh no..thought it was every state that had the 15th off...here in Canada we get the 15th for 'family day' not that all families get together but many have the opportunity of doing something together winter wise...
Judy, Noah asked if I'd go Monday night to Elmvale, he's the goalie and their team is travelling the entire district and so far have eliminated about 6 towns..heading towards the provincials..Elmvale is a hard team to beat so hoping he does as well as Jake...
Went outside to take of photo of my garden....snowbanks are high, just the tip of some of the garden art is showing...I can only dream of what's to come...
Where's Bev, she was counting down the days until 'spring' without her I've lost count!
Yay Bev! 48 more days !
I 'made a date' with DH...Valentines day we are going to go through the yard and cut all the dead stuff down....
It's cold here today as well...but nothing like what you all are going through....
Waving to Judy - YAY for Jake! I'm trying to remember ....wrestling or soccer?
Waving to Liz....and everyone.....
YES - Heavenscape.... WHO DAT! "Saints" is literally ALL anyone is talking about here...
My 'new' (now there 6 months) job at the TV station is with the local CBS affiliate...so guess what..?!?! I can sell Superbowl Commercials !
Of course at $15000 each... none of my clients (so far) can afford them. I know Betty remembers me whining that they haven't given me the "good" clients yet... well they are supposed to do it next week....since I go "off" my guarantee at 6 months...
I thought they would give me (changed to delete name of account - don't want to get fired if someone sees this) XYZ account (very popular fast food chain) since I had the account at last job...for over 7 years...but I think I overheard them giving it to a guy 20 years younger than me...with 20 years less experience. Why? Because he Plays GOLF !!
I'll just look at the bright side...maybe they'll give me something just as good or better...
Betty - I had no idea they had kayaks that cost that much...but then I think...my how much I have learned from my friends on this thread!
If I hadn't 'met' Trisha on here....I would never have known about bicycles and how much they can run...
I'll pop back on later tonight...
HUGS to all,
Mary
Morning everyone..ohhh Bev, must be day 47 now...I can see tops of the garden art, know where some of my favorite plants are that lay beneath the white coat of snow and know they are just as anxious to come out....talk about a valentine day date...getting to clean the gardens..lucky you
Mary, good luck with the commercials..omg who could afford them at those prices in this economy..I'm not so sure I purchase items because I've seen them advertized..usually opposite to that, always say 'item can't be as great as that' and don't purchase it...
Another sub-zero morning...must run and let Sailor in, she'll be sitting at the door for sure...
Didn't work too long on all my scrap bags so going to use what energy I have and get as many done as I can this morning..seems I wane off early afternoon and then it's couch time....
What goodies are you doing?
Good Morning Everyone!
Hello Betty ! I'm sure you have your day planned out by now...
I know it sounds crazy...but people actually enjoy watching Superbowl commercials...there have even been TV shows dedicated to playing the commercials... Businesses really get creative and try to outdo each other...
I usually enjoy the commercials more than the game... (But hopefully not this year!) Geaux Saints!
Hard to type...Shadow wants to be petted and keep nudging my wrists....
Headed to Lafayette with DH....about an hour away. While we're there we are hoping to eat at the Blue Dog Cafe... a restaurant dedicated to George Rodrique's Art....
Hugs,
Mary
Enjoy your meal Mary..bet the art is lovely..yep, you've all got me hyped up as well and I'll be saying "Geaux Saints" right along with you...
Had left over Chinese food for lunch, just got a call, couple of friends want to drop in sooo guess it means changing into real clothes although I know they'd not mind my attire..
I go from sewing to crochet, both involving sitting..lol..keep looking at a few projects I'd like to undertake but say 'nope' stick to the plan...
I've got something in mind for my 'spring swap' so might take it out and just get it organized..before you know it, I'll have my name and it will be shipping time....
Was going to take a run with the girls into the Fabric Store to take advantage of the sales, but it's starting to snow and blow quite heavily so I'll stay inside...can always get my fabric for the swap next week..
Should go back and see where I've signed my john henry to..sometimes I just sign that I'll join in and forget which I've joined..so far, think I'm right on target...
Hope you are all enjoying better weather than I???
Better go get dressed! drats, this flannel nighty is sooo comfy..
Betty look at you go on those bags!
We got the ice but didn't get the 20 to 30mph winds we were supposed to get, so that's very good. I had the most awesome view out my living room window a bit ago, the ice on the trees were glistening with the sunlight shining against them, I'm uploading some pictures that don't do it justice, if the sun comes out again I'll take more distant pictures and see if that helps. We're at 35* right now and it's supposed to get into the mid 40's, so everything is going to melt today.
Liz I really hope you find that skunk, peeeewwwwwwww!
Betty I just went and looked at the calendar LOL Your Family Day and our Presidents Day is on the same day! I never knew that! Groundhog day is coming up, so is it if he sees his shadow there are 6 weeks til Spring, or Spring has sprung? I don't remember what the story is.
