Thought I'd move us over ... blizzard outside but warm and toasty inside...the purchase of plants and redoing all the inside planters has brought the look of spring within...countdowns on right?
Mary, thanks for the concern..specialist said I must at least for now 'curtail my activities' now that's easier said than done..not thrilled about all the meds nor am I thrilled with having meds that slow the heartbeat...
As I drove to his office I remembered seeing him before..during our visit which I must say astounded me, I could have spent the afternoon as he was gracious enough to sit and talk and not rush me out..just before my leaving he said, 'Liz, you've got quite a sense of humour' don't know where he got the Liz, guess because it said Elizabeth on the chart..anyway he says 'you are NOT the kind of patient I like having' wow, wonder why I'm thinking, he goes through his chart and says 'it's been 15 yrs. since your last visit - we doctors have to make a living' then he starts laughing along with me....asked him to check his chart why I was there 15 yrs. ago...same thing....
Not sure I'll just sit on the chesterfield and veg though but light activities should be fine....told me to keep my trusted nitro in my pocket, make sure I'm either sitting or laying down when taking it and made me promise that after a few shots if the pain didn't ease that I'm to go to the hospital..promised..
So that's my story..
Off I go, taking my time to drive in this morning as you can't see much..it's the high wind in the soft snow that makes it fun to drive in..
Hope you all enjoy your day
and
THINK SPRING!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Visit with friends...
My dear friend, I do so hope you will listen to your Dr. He sounds like he knows of what he speaks. You ARE a dynamo and perhaps a little "rest with a cup of tea" time would be a great thing for you. We ALL love you and want only for your well being. Love and many hugs, Barb
Morning everyone. Betty I agree with Barb, we are all so concerned about you! I learned another thing today, your name is Elizabeth. I did not know that. It is a beautiful name. I also did not know that nitro came in injection form. I always thought it was pills, that dissolve under the tongue? Anyway, please listen to the Dr. please?
Linda Kay, the nitro I have is a spray...I'm to take 2 sprays when needed and repeat again if it doesn't work..if after 2 tries then guess I should be heading for the hospital..
OMG girls, since my being in the hospital New Years I've virtually done NOTHING..now you can't say that crochet sitting on the couch is a lot, nor just sewing, taking my time...can you?
LindaKay thanks for letting me know that you got the 1st.package..now you can make 2..one for you and one for a friend... my goodness that's a sure sign that something is wrong with our postal service...good things might arrive today..lol
thanks Bev...how are you and Scotty doing..thought of you the other day when I was in the Garden Gallery..they are starting to set up little areas of interest, garden art etc. saw so many nice pieces 'dragonflies' and you came to mind....I'll keep looking for something special when on sale and ship it to you for your garden..
Betty, I know just how you feel about sitting and crocheting! Seems like it's not stressful. BUT it CAN be! You really need to sit and do nothing , close your eyes, and relax your whole body. When you work on anything, your motor's still running!! TAKE CARE!!
Hey Audrey, how are you feeling today? Hope your a little better. That constant cough, can wear you out!
You know me Audrey, seems like such a waste...doing my best though..
Asking along with LindaKay, how are you doing?
OMG, you cannot see 1" outside, complete whiteout..if we didn't have appts later today I'd think Paul would tell us to go home, not calling for much change all day soooo most likely it will be a fun ride home..
You've got such a good disposition both of you...sending you both warm hugs and including prayers...
Good Lord... I have to come here and find for myself how you're doing Betty!!!
When you posted on FB about that 'nitro' .. got me so guilty that I haven't been on this thread for so, so, long.
You are certainly in my prayers. Please, take care of yourself, there is only ONE Betty.
I gave away my last box of skeins yesterday Audrey. No more crocheting for me!
Ahh.. great benefit in coming here today. I see that Bev still has that magic touch with her camera ^_^
Hi there Barb!
Everyone, keep warm.. and dear Betty, please be good to yourself.
Just got back from Norm's check-up with CAT scan. As far as the doctor can tell he is CLEAN!!! We still have to wait for the official reading from the radiologist but so far so good... This makes month 8 since the last operation and he goes back in June for another reading. Please keep him in your prayers and thank you for all he's been blessed with already....
Linda K and Betty, I'm feeling lots better today! I had a good night's sleep but woke up with a sore throat. I think it was because I sleep with my mouth open, but it's still a little sore. I DID feel up to putting away some things that I've been neglecting, though!
We're supposed to get freezing rain, sleet, and snow tonight. And tomorrow and tomorrow night. 10* Sun. night. We could get 6 to 12 in. of snow in all. That's a lot for us!
Fantastic news Barb about Norm..you must be so relieved..
Audrey, I've a BIL who snores terribly, been to clinics etc. - always has a sore throat for exactly same reason..
Hope the freezing rain by-passes you all...
Left the office just after 3 today, blizzard conditions...thought it was more the wind than the snow but we've gotten at least 10" today..thanks goodness for the plowman that does my driveway..
Love the photo's Bev...Cathy dropped in tonight and we were talking about gardening..she does my grass all summer, says she's loving ice fishing but looks forward to getting back to the lawnmower..
Well, super tired tonight so off I go..
Stay safe..
I'll get Kyle and Noah to come on the weekend to clear the front pathway and deck, normally I'd do it myself but listening to Doctor's orders...
LK I'm surprised you didn't know that the name "Betty" is one of the main nicknames for "Elizabeth." My "Godmother" is a Betty, or Elizabeth.
Betty it's better to have meds to slow your heartbeat down than to not have a heartbeat to slow down. I agree with everyone else, we LOVE you very much and you had better take care of yourself. Knowing that you've had this same problem for 15 years eases my mind, but one of my dad's girlfriends passed away without warning because of a fast heartbeat she had for years and years, so it's not anything to shrug off.
Great news about Norm!
Bev, LOTS of Hugs and Prayers coming at you and Scotty.
Jaye!!!
Have a great night sleep everyone. We're supposed to get sleet and freezing rain starting about midnight through tomorrow late morning so maybe no worky jerky tomorrow, that would be wonderful. It was sleeting a bit ago but it's stopped now I think.
I'm going to bed, well, maybe not to 'bed' per say, but something close to it.
Hi Crissy!
Betty, it's going to be hard for you to cut back on some activity. Following doctors' orders should be top on your list of priorities.
Barb, good news about Norm. We'll pray he stays that way forever.

Morning all..
Thanks for kindness everyone..
I can drive in blizzards but I stay put when there is freezing rain...you've absolutely no control of the vehicle..
Hey, it's Friday .. usually we're all makig plans for the weekend.....please tell me you've something exciting in the works, mine will be boring for sure..
Best I can come up with is a fabric shop having a sale, if weather co-operates, might take a drive..
Plowman just came and did the drive again, got to thank the Lord for his being here, underwent chemo this past year, they didn't think he'd make it, young children, doubt he's be over 40 but he's looking terrific..went outside to say 'hi' - told me to get inside as it's one of the coldest days yet!! guess it was because I was just in my nightie...lol
Sailor is looking for the door so off I go..we'll gab later
Thank you all for your good wishes re: Norm. My mind is a bit lighter this morning and I'm so very grateful that all is well.
I'm off to the quilt room today to work on these towels again. I so want them to be ready to mail in March. Might also try to get some signature blocks done too.
It's going to be only -10 to 10 above for the next week so I'm in and warm till it's over. I can't breathe when it gets this cold. Hopefully, I'll have plenty to keep me busy!!!
Amen to the projects we have Barb to keep us warm and toasty inside...took all it had for the vehicle to start, guess I should have plugged her in..-18 without wind chill, thank goodness the wind isn't up...
Left early, got my banking done, stopped in at Canadian Tire, my weekly Friday stop...bought 2 of those cookie sheets, plyable type..not that I make cookies but nice to have..1 for me and 1 for Melanie (putting it in her Christmas bag) my promise to myself is to have all my shopping done by fall, then I can just enjoy the season, the way I'm going I'll have Melanie done shortly...off course I had to have 'tools' lol have a zillion and 1 screw drivers but they had a box of 10 I believe, 75% off so bought a box..when I do workshops they certainly come in handy..then they had a bag with 20 sponge brushes ..I use them like they are going out of style....so have had a productive morning, now to crochet...
Betty, my oldest daughter has a to fast heartbeat, too,
hers is thyroid. It can kill you. Please be carefull!
22* here this morning. We've had freezing rain, sleet, and now it's snowing, and not supposed to let up all day. We're not used to this!
I feel so much better today! I was pretty sick, and didn't know how sick. When I got up, I cleaned out my freezer! Wow! Energy!
Glad you are feeling better Audrey, just don't use up all that energy just for cleaning..save some for crafting...are you up to doing knitting or crochet?
Not right now, Betty, but I want to get started on the flannel quilt squares for my blankie!
Do you have your flannel Audrey?
Jeff my youngest asked me to make him one, thought I'd wait until I cross the border one weekend in Feb. and head to Joanne's..material is about 1/2 the price... i.e. fat quarters here are between $3.50 and $4.50 and at Joanne's sometimes less than $2.00..if you hit a sale then sometimes $1.00...maybe I should key in Joanne's and look for a flyer...
Debbie brought me to the Christmas Tree Store (not sure why they call it that, it's got everything except at this time of year Christmas things) anyway they send me their flyer..got it yesterday..such pretties..quilt range from $19.99 to $39.99 - have bought a few, hardly worth making because these are so nicely quilted...few other spring items so maybe I can incorporate a visit there at same time
Good morning, Good Morning.
Well, Tadah My project is complete!! Now ran into a slight snafu.
Now, the heater in my van went completely out! We took it to the shop for the Third time now.
They had it for 24 hours and finally got it back yesterday. So I hope the third time is the charm.
Anyway today will go and get the jiffy envelopes to mail them in. I usually send priority so hopefully
the ladies will start receiving them as early as Monday...And Now LOL, I can return to my daily schedule.
Which involves a great deal of DG time.
Betty, so glad you went to the Specialist. LOL, now Elizabeth, you follow docs orders. I am so glad you are listening so far.
Nothing wrong with sitting on couch sewing or crocheting. And I am Glad Christmas is past or I don't think you would listen, too well.
What are you crocheting now??
Waiving Hiya Jaye..So COOL to see you over here. It was awsom to chatter with you yesterday, and Thank you for the Giant Armwraps!!
Audrey, good to see you too, Hope you get to feeling Better.
Barb, How are your Projects coming along? So glad my turn is done. My gosh, was a bit overwhelming to do 11 at one time, but I guess now they are done I feel it was rewarding to see them! Whoohoooo. The best part was when NIL saw them, she absolutley flipped! Said they were adorable and requested one for her kitchen! Hahaha, she was surprised too, lol thought my sewing machine was beginning to get moldy! LOL, didn't even think she noticed.
Excellent news for Norm and You!! Must be a giant boulder lifted. Thank you God
Hiya Tubby, sending you gentle hugs, glad to see you. Have you been able to get some sleep.
Say hello to Shirley for us.
Mary, Debbie, Liz, Linda Kay waiving to you all...I hope things are going well. I have been reading but I am so behind in posting, that I will just jump in.
Betty, I am now cleaning my craft area! Yikes what a horrendous mess! LOL, but I am making progress.
OK...Picture time, Speaking of which, BEV, love seeing your photos again! Oh my goodness, I hope Scotty is feeling Better.
LOL, here is what craft area looked like yesterday!
Big Disaster area
Audrey did you have Pneumonia? I've had Pneumonia a couple times, that's exactly the way I felt! I knew when I got fatigued walking half way down my hallway that my cold had turned into something else, there's no other feeling like it. That's probably been 5 years ago or so now.
I'm home from work today!!!! Woo Hoo to the sleet we got last night, freezing rain we're getting right now, and snow we're supposed to get in a while. The best of all the winter worlds! LOL I'm going to go out and get some good pictures in a while, but I'm not dressed yet. I have the best boss in the world! He sent me a text this morning letting me know that I didn't have to come in, after the Inclement Weather Policy went out. I'm so glad someone is looking out for me! LOL
Well I'll see ya'll later. Got to get more coffee in me and maybe some breakfast in a bit.
Hey Judy, Wow, your crafting area looks like mine did! I have to get the machine out, and clear the kitchen table to sew! Some day I will have a craft room, like Janice is creating in her new home!
Betty, no plans for this week-end. Looks like we may have rain most of it. I am going to try and get the quilt squares done for Feb. I finally got the Jan. paper pieced one, and once I got the fabric laying the right way, it was a piece of cake.
wow, 18 degrees is pretty cold, you make sure you drive safely going home!
No, I have never heard of Betty, short for Elizabeth. Both are beautiful names! All the girls I knew with the name, went by Liz, or Beth.
Waiving Hiya Crissy! Yay, so glad you got a day off, just love when that Happens.
Hope you enjoy breakfast...Whatchya going to cook?
oops cross posted with you LK.
LOL...Crazy with craft rooms and the great mess. Mine is right in the heart of the house. Tends to get nuts from one project to another.
OH my gosh even Sabrina occasionally will clear an area. Says how the heck can you work here?
Funny about names, I forgot Betty is short of Elizabeth too. Yep both are pretty!
Crissy, long weekend for you, bet you are jumping up and down...another 2 weeks and yet another..now you can spend the day with Dave..what will you get up to? Nice having thoughtful boss..mine let me go home at 3pm yesterday because of the blizzard..got home at same time but it was still light and was greatly appreciated...
... imagine by noon most of your ice will have melted...I'll also have to take a photo of the snowbanks in the yard...could see grass patches last weekend so we've gotten a substantial amount of snow this past week...
Few communities are having their annual Winterama weekend so I'm sure the organizers are thrilled..the cold will strengthen the ice so all's well for a winter fun weekend. can remember going to the Penetanguishene Winterama when I was a child, always on my and my dad's birthday weekend..now I'm lucky if I take time to go see the ice parade and sculptures...
Judy you sure did have a mess, lucky Steve is happy go lucky or he'd have a fit..lol..can't wait to hear what the girls' responses to your project, they're fantastic..they'll be jumping up and down...
Have to tell you, although I've spend a lot of time since January cleaning my workshop it takes me only a few hours to make a complete disaster of it...can you imagine having 5 tables and not see the tops of them..lol..
Jaye, how's everything going in your neck of the woods?
So what will you get into now?
Oh my.. Judy.. when was the last time you've seen your piano? Let alone play on it? Lol!!!!
Aren't you glad we're not living next door to each other? We'll get our crafts project done, yeah.. but we'll NEVER clean the house and poor Steve and Kel will demand new aprons!!
Hiya Bev!! More like a zoo's age :D Do you quilt Bev?? Anyway, your beautiful garden should be in full swing come spring and we'll be grace with more pretty pictures.
Audrey, take you some extra vitamins. Doctors told me that since I'm now in my 50's and had that heart surgery I need to take more to fortify my immune system. A loving sistah had sent me some ColdFX, and I have benefitted from it.
Barb, DH surprised me with more quilting books from online. He somewhat sneakily kept tab of all the books I have and decided what else should be in my collection. What a man... good thing he doesn't expect me to fully utilize them!!!
Hey there Betty. Sure hope you're getting to feel better. You're akin to this bouncy neighbour's kid who's rambunctiousness is so contagious. And when that kid is sick.. so is the whole neighbourhood.. till he gets better.
Never been to an Ice/Winter Show. Must be beautiful with everything glistening...
It's supposed to be ice and sleet this weekend.. and do you think we'll be taking our own advice to Crissy?
Hehehehe.. no.... there's an apron show Saturday and you can bet we'll be there even if it meant we'll be driving at half the speed limit allowed!!!
Ahh.. FIL has his 'moments' now and then, but his cancer recovery is now 92 percent. PTL. Still not over his stroke yet.
Well, I'm gonna do a Barb.. off to quilting room!
seedtosser
glad to hear from you.................
Shirly says hi.....................
Tubby
Afternoon Tubby! How is your day going? Hope you got some sleep last night1
Hello to Shirley also! (((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) to you both!
Hi Tubby, I'm Jaye. Have read your wonderful contributions to this thread in the past. Glad to see you're on the mend.
Hey LK.. how was lunch? Ok.. back to what I'm supposed to be doing!
Crissy, I didn't have pnuemonia, my lungs were clear. I DO have emphezema (sp), though, I don't know if that was part of it , but I have asthma, too, and I've been wheezing a little. I started taking pre-natal vitamins last month, but I left all my meds at my daughter's Christmas! Stupid!!!
Forgot to say, I don't have a craft room, just a craft house! When I sew, it's all over the living room and kitchen, and even in the bedroom, when I'm making a quilt!
