Superspot Blooming
Dee
I feel for Charlene, I just talked to my DD, she has 6 inches of snow, & it's still coming down, since she has lived there
for 3yrs now, this is the first time she has seen snow, sometimes where she's at it had the same temps as we do, just
cold, but now they're getting snow & we aren't so far today, I do hope the weather man has it wrong
I am ready for it to melt, to have our nice weather & Brugs in the ground
Elizabeth
Oh my, I feel bad for all of the southerners...you know they will probably loose lots of plants...6 inches??? Wow! I feel bad for the ones who aren't use to driving in it too.Guess we should think of the bright side...can you imagine the faces of the children who have never seen snow?
Dee
Dee
I can see all the kids out playing in it building snowmen, snowball fights, & sleding, when you a kid you never get cold
no matter how long you're out in it, hey I got my new magazine today, gardening how to, it has a lot of neat stuff in it.
my DD has 3 Brugs that I sent her 2yrs ago, she keeps them in pots, she baby's them, I am going to take her a few more when we go to visit her, she is sooo looking forward to it
Elizabeth
A new magazine...gardening how to?...Is it a monthly magazine? Never heard of it, but sounds like something I would like too.
I bet your daughter does love the brugs. She lives in the perfect climate, for them. I bet she's glad that hers are in pots, right now. Girl, the way you share your brugs when you visit people, everyone will be saying"here comes Elizabeth, in the brugmobile"..lol I'm sure they all love to see you coming!!
Dee
Dee
that's too too funny, it's a magazine from the national Home Gardening Club, my DH got a bill from them, he ask me about it I grabbed it from him, I said I will pay that, it where they send you gardening items to try out for free, if you're a member you get to keep it just for rating it, I love anything that has to do with gardening
Elizabeth
that sounds great Elizabeth..lol.Gonna send ya an e-mail..
Dee
Hi I got that magazine today too! t was nice to come home to a Spring cataouge. I feel so bad for you Doris, but please do not give up on that plant. I love the idea of a green house effect for the babys.
I feel so shocked and sorry for everyone getting snow that are not used to it. We still have mountains of snow here. Tommorrow, tho, joe is going to BBQ lamb and buffalo burgers, cuz it will be in the upper 30s to low 40s yay!
( After I get home from work that is)
Dee, I love seeing the snowmen... I remember when we used to make them withouur children.. and when I frist came here to kansas, I was so happy to see snow I danced. I never saw any snow the whole time I lived in CA.
Feeling really good about the new adoptive man I gave three brugs to this afternoon. He got a cross seedling, a rooted leafed out cutting of PP, and a cutting of Alex. I can't wait to see the cross seedlings blooms this summer.
Well, I had to go look it up on-line..the magazine. I will probably sign up for it, when I have more time to read about it....you know I'm sooo busy right now...lol
Debra, I love seeing snowmen too.I just think they are so cute, especially if they are so crooked, you wonder how they stand up. You know those little ones froze their little fingers off, getting it just right...lol
Dee
Debra
Hi, I will get the Pic of the Cerus for you tommorrow, I think with all of us here, we can find Doris another plant or clippings, last year I knew of a few people that had that one, I'll be looking around, between now & the time when it's safe to ship, I am sooo ready for all the white stuff to be green
Elizabeth
Well I took the plant out of the pot, the roots were brown and all shriveled up, not a speck of life anywhere, it looks like a pant you would find in the dump, I still don't understand as each plant recieved the same treatment, water every third week, while dormant, she was the closest to the basement window, I can only assume with all the snow that she got cold, although it is about 65 in the basrement, I have had Brugs now for about 8 yrs and this is the first year I have lost a full size plant, and 5 cuttings.guess I need to start looking for replacements, sad thing is I don't have trades but would be happy to pay for new ones.
Doris
Doris, you just need to let us know what you're looking for...No trades necessary with me.
Dee
Doris
I agree with Dee, just let us know what you're looking for, no trades needed with me also
Elizabeth
You two are just great,if I went with my heart I would take them all but at my age I need to think with my head *LOL
If I can get them I would like to replace Mon Amour de Marcue, Tiara, Sweatheart, and find some double or tripple pinks, I would gladly pay for them, and the postage.
I think next year I will put the florecent lights over them and keep them growing all year, the basement stays in the high 60s
Dee how is it your way this morning, I cannot see the end of my yard, it is so foggy, they are warning about people off the road, boy I hope spring gets here early.
Doris
Doris, I think Elizabeth and I have you covered, then. Like I told ya before I'll send cutting of Tiara and Sweetheart,as soon as they are big enough to take cuttings. We are both really going to be watching for Mon Amour ...one of us WILL find it for you. And I have oodles of different double pink cuttings started, and I'm sure that Elizabeth has even more than I do...LOL You may be starting over, with small ones, but you will have them.
It was really foggy here when I was up earlier(from 4:30-8:00), but I got lazy and went back to sleep, and now it's clearing up some, but it's still a little foggy.
Dee
Charleen, it sure did! Beautiful...I been worried about you.You have been way to quiet, girl.
Dee
Charleen, that is how all our trees looked this morning, sparkled like diamonds but the Fog made the roads slick with black ice, I stayed in since they warned us of several cars off the sid of the road.
Doris
Doris, are you sure it is lost? I have had brugs I was sure of they were dead. Nothing left above the ground. And as far as I could see soft under the ground too. But it came back from the roots, so don't throw it away yet!
Charleen, good to see you too!
We also had a lot of snow this year. More snow than the last 10 years together. Traffic was a mesh here. We had almost 10 inch of snow and it stayd for weeks. The frost is also more severe. Not much colder. But it hasn't stop freezing here from the beginning of December.
Doris
I soo apreciate it, I posted that Night Blooming Cerus, so Debra can see how big it got before it Bloomed, I started it with a couple leaves
our storm missed us, I hope yours did too, I have been arranging the Brugs so each one of them gets the same amount of light, also to see what is big enough to cut, for clippings, can you believe that Cerus is 3yrs. old, if you would like some leaves I can send you some, it has a Beautiful white Bloom in the summer, all you do is put the leaf in dirt
it grows
Elizabeth
Elizabeth, sure that would be something different for me, didn't know you could start plants from a leaf.
Doris
Doris
there are a number of plants you just need a leaf Jade being one or a piece of a plant, I have a huge 6ft catcus, I was moving it outdoors last spring it fell a piece of it broke, I just stuck it in dirt it rooted, spider plant is another one that's easy to start, I'll send you day & night Blooming Cerus once you start too grow them, you'll love the Blooms
Elizabeth
Hey, Doris, Elizabeth, Dee and Hugs to you too Jori. Have missed not hearing from you.
I have some more winter pic. on my walk page. I have seen you all and enjoy reading the
threads. did you all see George's white Species? I have that plant, girls. So you know You got some when they get growing.
I am so ready for Spring. Yes, Jori the weather has been so strange and harse this year. Our Snow will not take long to melt because our soil is not frozen solid like your must be.
Charleen
Charlene

Happy Valentines day to all of you and thanks for the picture of the cerus mine is going crazy. Someone told me to cut it or something. And hey Doris, out of about 23 cuttings sent to me , all treated the same way by about 5 different people, only 14 have made it.
joeswife, Thanks, and I sure will remind you.*S*
Happy Valentine's day Ladies. Hope you have a wonderful day.
Charleen
Good afternoon, Happy Valentines Day to everyone also
Dee
that is a succulent of some sort, it Bloomed a while back, it has cute little yellow Blooms, I will look at the tag to see if I can find a name for it, hey I have another Clivia about too Bloom in the basement, I will post a Pic of it when it does
Charlene
did your Clivia ever Bloom, this on is the Golden Dragon
Elizabeth
I lost several cuttings over the winter, too.I had a couple that rotted, but most of the ones that I lost just dried up and went hollow.
Charleen, I would love a start of your Logee's Species. I think thats what you said it was last year when you got it.
Thanks, Elizabeth, for checking on the name of your plant.
Dee
Mr. George's Species. Dee. It's terrible to see them hollow, Have several like that. I'm not going to take serious inventory til it warms Up , am I being silly?
No, Elizabeth, It hasn't bloomed yet. I'm going to set it out this summer to see if that helps. They had Cactus marked down at Lowes so I got two of those beautiful furry ones. The old man cactus.
Had a great Valentine, hope you all do too.
Charleen
I think you are smart for waiting to take a serious inventory. I am having some leaf drop on some of mine that looked perfectly healthy...I'm hopping they will come back on, since the roots are looking good.
Dee
Charlene
that's great that you're waiting, sometimes they look dead, but really aren't I had a good day today also
Dee
the plant is a Rhipsalis (Brazillie) Rhipsalis Prismatica, boy that tag makes me feel so smart, it requires low light perfect for the basement, I am surprzed it had an acual tagged plant usually it just says Exotic Angel Plants, with no name on it, it was marked down, when the had all their catcus, succulent plants, I think I paid $3.00 for it
Elizabeth
That's what I paid for my Cactus boys $3.oo felt so smart.
Got to get you a pic. Have to replant one. I couldn't see them sitting there rotting.
For once these plants were overwatered.
Charleen
