Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day - Part 7

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Strangely enough, no. Stamile genes at work. I love the golden edge on it.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Oh! love those pastels!

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Pretty hyacinth Jen. Can just imagine the perfume from that baby.
Welcome back Patti. Glad you had a nice trip but I agree itr is always good to get home. Your garden pic is lovely as usual and I am glad to hear you will be getting after those weeds again this summer, they won't stand a chance.
Another beauty Pirl. Love the color bends and golden ruffles.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Wow, would of guessed Muson but Stamile is ALWAYS nice too! LOL

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Pirl, DL Kathleen Mary is lovely. Is that what you call a chicken fat edge, which amuses me greatly? Patti

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

That's why I have that hyacinth right by the front door.

South Hamilton, MA

Patti---you & Great Dexter.

I've given up on hyacniths. Can't get the stems out of the foliage.

Leaving here for awhile DH told me that Keppel iris catalog is here. Won't quite fly downstairs, but will give a good imitation.

Corning, NY(Zone 5a)

Wow, This is the fastest moving thread I have ever read, Very nice pics all.

Waving HI back Celeste:0) Yes I am done wasting money on zone pushing, I won't be getting any of the Alstemira(sp) It's up to you if you want to give them a try, best of luck if you do.

It has a name, but I am clueless right now, This is why I hate when I take pics & don't include the tag:( I can never remember the name!!

Could it be Gillian, Anita?

I've had it a few years now and it's a good performer and doesn't fade in the sun.

Pretty shot, voices. I'm sure pixie or pirl can ID it.

Right on time!

Corning, NY(Zone 5a)

I think you are right, I will look at it's tag in the morning, way to cold & dark out right now, I grabbed my flashlight & headed out the door, but the wind sent me right back in the house:)

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

The wind is howling here, too. We had snow for about ten minutes but it's changed to rain, thankfully.

Glad to know I'm not alone in going out at night with my flashlight!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Wow, you two are really in sync tonight. The Dls certainly look like triplets to me. Very pretty

Hope you had a wonderful trip Patti. Looking forward to pics!

Love the Oranges and Lemons Victor. Nice juxtaposition.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I need a flashlight and a shovel, my motto is "It can wait until spring" LOL

South Hamilton, MA

snow showers today were really those instead of snow glop. Can hear the wind right now. We had a meeting last night, I'm glad that it wasn't tonight.

Love the monarda JoAnn. The hummers do love them here too. Snuck out yesterday after all the snow had gone and before the new dusting and there were little monarda leaves just poking out their heads. Made me smile.
Love those bright colors of the peony and iris onewish. Very happy combo.
WC that is a perfect little bloom. How delicate the gaura flowers are, they never seem to get through the wet winters here, at least not yet.
Here is a shot of monarda and two other visitors that seem to like it as well.

Onewish1, great bolt of color

ge1836, I am so jealous of anyone with hummingbirds. Nary a one in our garden ever, but I keep adding more plants just for them and have feeders up. I think I should paint the front yard red. I will plant more monarda this spring as well as more rose of sharon, but I think I need to plant early flowering favorites of them like Chaenomeles and a mess of Aquilegia canadensis plus more annual salvia.

watercan2, love, love gaura. I just ordered a new one for me which is a pure white one called Gaura lindheimeri 'So White' from Avant. Their Jan sale ends on the 31st, so I had to get my order in. I have had great plants from them always. http://www.avantgardensne.com/catalog/category.cgi/10/p1/default/N

ngam, great shot...which monarda ?

Here is a color combo I like.

Just fantastic
I finished the Sparklie garden Spike. I might not include the plastic cone.
I am redoing my bath and have some glass tiles.I glued these to a piece of PVC.
Hammared a piece of rebar into the ground and slid the sparkly over it.VOILA a garden thingie.

I believe that monarda is 'Blue Stockings'. I also have 'Raspberry Wine' and 'Jacob Cline'.The hummers and bees fight over them all summer.
Nice combo of DLs,salvia and iris. Purple blues and golds are always such a pleasing color combo. Very nice.
Pixie that nice warm colored DL is just what we need this cold morning. So very cheerful.
JoAnn that garden thingy is a welcome dash of color and sparkle in the garden, just what we need this time of year. Waste not want not right? A great idea for using leftovers indeed.
Breaking the rule, it's early and there was a day or two I did not post so here is to JoAnn. This is a hummer enjoying the 'Raspberry Wine' monarda. Do you think Victor will notice? LOL

I seem to be losing control here!!

Nice monardas. I like them and should add more.

Nice combo, Patti.

Love the gaura - also a fave. Finally had them return last year.

Lily.

Very nice combination of colors and textures Bill. I love the ferns and let the wild ones fill in around the edges of the yard here too. It helps to keep the deer from coming in a little bit as well.
Not to worry Victor, only a minor insurrection. LOL That is a very nice shade of pink on your DL. Nice fresh color and a lovely pic as well.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Pat. It's a regular lily, not a DL.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Well duh not enough coffee yet, still lovely. Is it a stinker?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I think it may be Pink Perfection, but I'm not positive.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

That would of been my guess to Victoe.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

If it is, it's now gone! Was in my raised bed and I cleared it out last year.
