Coffee Break #30 - Go Jets!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

It's the BIG thing where you sleep and have coffee and bubble baths but mostly important for storing dahlias and drying seeds and having a library. Most everyone has one as far as I can tell?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I think you have to do more than hose it down, but that's just my opinion.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

O bother I was afraid of that flowerjen. Now I'm thinkin:
♫ Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland ♫

A sleigh ride would be fabby methinks ^_^

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Celeste, that one about the basketball coach was good. Pretty incredible, actually.

Jen, I couldn't watch your Pigeon:Impossible one. All I got was a black screen.

Well, Victor, did you hear about the lottery winner in Florida who disappeared? They think they found his body today buried under recently added concrete at a home in Plant City, FL. http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/01/28/florida.missing.lotto.winner/?hpt=T2

Yes, I missed you, Cousin Nut!!!!! Is that big thing a camper/trailer? A greenhouse? A sunroom? An outdoor patio?

The road the lady was walking is a back country road with no street lights. I've driven on it.

Welcome back Dnut! No, you don't have to do a thing to the big thing in the middle of the garden if you don't want to. Just tell friend from MT to step over the muck. I hang a sign on my front door when friends come over if I go out back: "You're important, but not important enough to clean. Come inside." If you enter my house and it's clean, you must be HRH, The Queen.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

And if you're at the store when friends arrive, then you must be at the store buying clothes because you don't want to do laundry?? ^_^

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

No, you've got it all wrong. I'm usually out back. I avoid going to the store too. I buy my underwear online now, but I haven't lately. Other than not being employed, I've got quite a large pile from all the previous underwear shopping days, so I'm good for now. My sisters all do the same thing, only they're worse. If they come to visit, I have to hide my undies because they'll steal them rather than wash their own.

You all do understand I'm telling a tall tale here with just a hint of truth, RIGHT?!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hmmmm.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Looks like global warming skeptics may have to reconsider - Bin Laden says it's real and the US is to blame.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just got the !$#%$^ squirrel out! I'll give details shortly.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Well, that's a good thing, yes?

South Hamilton, MA

Any squirrelets? Hope not.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Of course that's a good thing, Jen! Do you think I wanted to keep him? He walked right by me as I was talking on the phone! I quickly put the cats in the bathroom and opened windows and the front door. I then guided him out the front door. And I screamed, 'And stay out!!'

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

How the heck did he get in the house?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

In the basement, I think. Made his way down behind the walls.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sheesh, well at least he's out.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Wow Victor. At least it's out. Hope it didn't do too much damage while in.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - tomorrow I will take heavy plywood and completely shut that vent. I think leaving the opposite side open (but protected with heavy perforated metal) will be enough for the attic fan.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, me too, Deb. Thanks.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

I can just picture that.

'and STAY out' Glad the kitties didn't see it.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

glad it is out victor!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Congrats Victor!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, all. Yes, my immediate reaction was, 'where are the cats?' Fortunately, the squirrel ran toward the fireplace, which is away from the LR, where all three cats were sleeping near the pellet stove!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Great, Victor! Glad you got the varmint out.

Karen

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Karen. I'm chilling with a glass (or two or three!) of wine now. Spent the entire day cleaning the house, not to mention driving out rodents! I'm working on my coleus order. Difficult!

Hey Karen - please join us on the countdown to spring photo thread! You have so many good photos. Please contribute.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks for the invite to that thread, Victor. I'll check it out.

Karen

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

lucky tree rat... and glad to hear it!!!

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Lol! Glad he's gone Victor. Who would of knew he would wind up walking out the front door. Sorry, but thats a funny mental picture.

What are you ordering from Rosy Dawn? I have a list of 25 and trying to whittle it down. I find I get bigger plants later in the year but the discount is now.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Would love to order from Rosy Dawn, but can't spend any money now. Bummer.

Karen

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Sorry Karen. You can order later, they are still reasonable at the regular price considering others pricing and they ship them until June.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ordered 15 different ones!

Newport News, VA(Zone 11)

Thats a good start:-)

Any color schemes? I think I'm going gold and red this year. Plus my favorite standbys that I get every year.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

An assortment. I'll post the list.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Congratulations Victor! If you had hair, I'm sure it would be all grey now. I know mine would. I'm glad the visitor is gone and no disasters happened as a result.
