Today's Weather in Your Garden - 61

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

DonnieBrook, thanks. Good to be home, but kinda cold after the weather in S.Africa. Great moon tonight. Patti

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Yes, isn't the moon beautiful now? I always love knowing that we are all looking at the very same moon. It makes me feel connected to those that are special to me but far away.

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

15+ inches of snow coming tonight & tomorrow. I just placed a $77.00 order with Gurney's. This could be an expensive snowy weekend. :)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

South Hamilton, MA

"FULL MOON AND MARS: Friday night's full Moon is the biggest and brightest full Moon of the year. It's a "perigee Moon," as much as 14% wider and 30% brighter than other full Moons you'll see later in 2010. But that's not all. Mars is having a close encounter with Earth, and on Friday night, Jan. 29th, it will join the Moon for an all-night-long conjunction. Don't miss it! Sky maps and images may be found at http://spaceweather.com."

No wonder I've been howling!!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

The moon was amazing at 4:30 this morning.....so bright I never got back to sleep. I had no idea that it was special, but it sure was. Thanks. Clear today, 11* out with wind backed off to 10 to 20 MPH. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Same here - only that was not the reason. Just could not sleep. Up since 4. Very unusual for me.

8 cold degrees! At least there is no wind.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, I know you were up howling.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

big ole 12 now... high of 22

South Hamilton, MA

Enjoyed the moon, didn't see Mars. 5° but less wind. Prediction is that we will miss the snow. Hope so.

Brutal out there. Dogs wont even stay out. I hate this weather.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Trying to escape the single digits here as well. Temp has climbed to a nippy 7 degrees but at least the north wind is fairly light at present and the sun is beaming down. I am not upset that the snow will most likely pass south of us. Sorry Bill. The bright moon must have made for an active wildlife night, lots of different tracks left in our dusting of snow.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

mine ate.. went outside as fast as they could.. and then back under the covers on the bed

Is your snow over Susan? Very cold here. Air mass is pushing snow south of us, happy as we have had enough snow. Bright but 12°.

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

No, it is still coming down, sort of a sleet mix now. Suppose to end soon. Not gonna get above freezing until Monday so looks like we are house bound.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

16°, windchill 7°, wind NNW 7mph, cloudy

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Their restraunt looks cold.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

It finally made it to 16 degrees today! The sun was shining most of the day, but its warmth never crept in between the clapboards! Even with the wood furnace and the wood stove running full blast, we are still sitting around shivering!

How many days until Spring?

South Hamilton, MA

Too many!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

*sigh*

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

- Hoping for a nice wet spring & wet early summer like last year, so I wont have to carry hoses around and I can save $ on water bills! Yipeee! (lol)

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Was brutal at West Point! About 5 degrees colder on average there, and very windy!
