Same here Allison ,plus it will go back to winter in a couple of days.
glad I didn't put out my WS seeds yet.. might get all screwed up
I was thinking the same thing....if the rain didn't get them the 55-60 mph gust might!
you got it... I have to figure out something better to hold them still... last year I put a bunch of plastic containers around them that I didn't dump out.. and up against my deck rail
Still dark here but it is 52 degrees already. Rain in western Ma but not here yet. Light SE wind. Still flood warnings and high wind warnings for this afternoon. Hold on to your hats folks.
Woo, the wind is picking up all of a sudden. Went from dead calm or very light to gusts of 15 to 20mph from the sse. Still no rain yet but the radar has a band of rain just west of here. Main batch should hit around mid morning and the heavy stuff and high wind this afternoon. Temp now 53.
It's raining here but lightly. It has been sleeting/freezing rain since 9 last night. Turned to pure rain sometimes after 2am , the winds have not really started yet.
53 with lots of wind and rain. Dark.
54°, windchill 39°, wind SSE 37mph, light rain
it was 31 here this morning with a snow melt fog not rain yet
after a very rainy windy night, woke to 51o, 100% humidity not sindy though.
i hate it when it is sindy out!
Hee hee he!
Stopped raining now, but the wind is starting to pick up. It is an amazing 45 degrees!
I went out to fill the feeders before the deluge starts, it is freaky warm out. We are getting some light drizzle now. Temp at 54 degrees, wish it would stay but no deal. It is after all only Jan. but I will take it for as long as it lasts.
Strange one today...57 heavy rain and thunderstorms and errands to run all day! GRRR!!
Wind becoming 'brisk'. Rain not here yet & DH is chopping ice on the driveway so he can get the car out for errands. If he can't we can wait until tomorrow as we have enough food for today. Backordered sweatshit came for DGD today, but may not mail it until tomorrow.
Wind is picking up here as well. Tops of all the big oaks are swaying pretty good and I have already heard some crunching and breaking in the woods out back. I hate that, but a least it is during the day so you can see what is going on. Having a lull in the rain now but the heavy rain is getting closer.
no wind here
Heavier rain started about ten minutes ago. Wind still gusting. Temp holding at 53 degrees now.
Started out 41° this am, cloder now. Calling for temps in the mis 20's all week. So much for the Jan Thaw!
Ok so I typed that while the coffee was brewing, I like it when it is sindy out!
lol
The wind gusts are CRAZY.
Rain and more rain very heavy at times

Not to worry susan, all spelling errors are so totally excused any time before noon, and some times later as well. :)
J2 we should be seeing that cold return here by the end of the week too. Thaw is nice while it lasts though and gives you courage to face Feb. and that fat furry little rodent that just loves to extend winter most years. Rotten little oversized rat.
Did you know OH has one too? I get to hear about the one in PA and OH. Thrills.
susan no problem - just glad to have someone else making typo's besides me:)
Oh ya we have one too, however we have a lady groundhog. http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2008/01/31/groundhog_emerges_from_males_shadows/
Looks like everyone wants one of their own. I wonder if they all agree on the winter?
http://www.massaudubon.org/Nature_Connection/Sanctuaries/Drumlin_Farm/news.php?id=930&event=no In case anyone would like to meet her and attend all the festivities.
it is now trying to snow!
Why am I NOT surprised that MA would have a female groundhog! Oyyy!
Rain guage says we got 3.5 inches of rain out of this storm that left us last night. It is like walking on a sponge in my yard.
Nice site. At least 10am is better than midnight to see about her shadow. In PA they pull the poor animal out at midnight.
how do they expect him to see his shadow at midnight?
Keep it there J-2. Note:WE DO NOT NEED IT. Still some on the ground here, but that should disappear in the coming rain. enough has melted so I can see we will have games of pick up sticks this spring.
Ya no wonder he always wants to go back to bed. This thing sounds a little rigged to me. Hmmmmm
I think they just do it for the show. They have lots of lights around when they show it on TV.
