Decent day on tap here. We're already one third through winter!! We've been lucky with snow, but had our share of cold.

10" of snow above the norm for our area, but not as much as last yr at this time. Of course an 'open winter' is not good for the plants either. DH says old deer tracks are filled in with new snow, but there are new deer tracks. Not sure if it is the same amount. Where are the coyotes when you need them?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

True - I would rather have some cover for the plants.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Still mostly cloudy and the temp is struggling to hit the freezing mark, still just 30 degrees. We have not had any thing close to the amount of snow and number of storms as last year it seems to me. Most of the white stuff has gone where they like it, north. Still some on the ground, but it is disappearing more every day. Rain beginning of next week should get rid of what ever is left. I do like a little on the ground too for the protection it offers the plants.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, heavy rain predicted for Sunday.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

33°, windchill 23°, wind ENE 8mph, cloudy

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

it was 11 here this morning and warming up nicely - no new deer tracks here thankfully - i guess running across the pond and banging a hockey stick on trees in the woods they thought there was a mad canuck here

South Hamilton, MA

21° & bright.

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

41, cloudy and very chilling.

Victor - my goodness...sorry to hear about your friend. You are due for some good news!

Warm and humid here this morning. Hank has more than half of the posts for the fence in, and I have pulled out more of the killer vinca plants. We have the a/c on now. :(

Celeste - whoa....those are some cold temps. Glad you're still singing! Very pretty sunrise shot. Keep on dancin'!!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Snow is mostly melted here for now. We have rain coming. DD to take her driving test tomorrow, hope she passes.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Yes, I've heard. And crazy warm on Monday too.

South Hamilton, MA

Flood warnings are up all over. We are not on water but heavy rain on frozen ground can show up in basements.

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

we are under a flood watch and wind advisorie till tomorrow night. Then suppose to have a sunny week. Hope the gardens start drying up a bit. I tried to turn over my raised beds today with my mini tiller and just made mud pie.

South Hamilton, MA

I was on the flower guild arrangements for church this weekend. florist parking lot was rather muddy. So happy to walk on dirt rather than ice.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I won't touch my plants until April, and that's just wishful thinking, last year June was a washout with temps barely reaching 60° during the day and dipping into the 40's at night. Lost a lot of plants and 5 well established bonsai because they couldn't find the light at the end of the tunnel...

23°, clouds gathering

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Sun is out for now, but clouds will be moving in throughout the day. Temp now at 23º. Wind calm. Flash flood warnings here too until Monday night. Heavy rain starting tonight and all day tomorrow. Expect around an inch and a half or more. Temps getting into the mid 50s tomorrow, then back to deep freeze by the end of the week. This should get rid of the snow that remains.

Crazy weather.

Triad(for a few more, NC(Zone 7a)

38o this morning and rainy. Not sure how much more water the ground can hold, we are saturated.

South Hamilton, MA

25° I hope it gets rid of the snow. Could barely walk to the car to go to church this morning because of ice on walk & driveway. Brave person who lives near enough to walk said that she used the street because sidewalk ice was so bad.
