I use Ivy geraniums, regular geraniums (upright), petunias, coleus, vinca vine (my favorite) allysum, Bacopa. dusty miller, ivy of different varieties. In my bigger ones on my front porch, I used sweet potato vine, vinca, coleus and white petunias. I like to just window shop at the local nurseries and places like Lowes, etc. for ideas, and to see what they are stocking. Sometimes they have some really nice planters, and you can take notes on what they have in them.
