Hey Jules, glad no one was seriously injured in the truck accident or the flooding. Your gh is to die for! Love all of the country side scene photos, your and the ES took.
The first bird photo seems to be a red-tailed hawk, maybe that is why they call it red hawk hill?? http://davesgarden.com/guides/birdfiles/showimage/1935/
I knew you said you sold pumpkins and trees in the fall, but guess I missed where you actually grew them, that is amazing.
My walks are just outside to feed cat, birds, and fish. Right now the yard looks pretty barren, but I know it is resting and will be lush in the spring/summer.
Took a long time to catch up on this thread..so gone for now.

Daily Walks
oh Jules!!! Thanks for sharing! Loved the walk and all the photos. Glad everyone is safe and ok. Your gh is AMAZING!! I can only imagine what it's like not flooded. :-) I know you have shared photos before, but I've never seen that view to see how big it is. Wow!
I was in San Diego for a week the first of Jan (Coronado). Have never been to your part of the world. It is very beautiful. Unfortunately it was for work and work we did - not time to explore or sight see. It is definitely someplace I would love to revisit and bring my family to.
Big hugs!
~chele
How are things looking today Jules? Better I hope.
Sally, I'll show you in a little bit, have to download a few photos.
Sheila my longest DG friend, you read through all of that in one sitting? My goodness, you must need a break! We or I should say I, no longer grow the pumpkins. We still sell them though. People don't care, they just like coming out to the country to get them pumpkins.
My kitchen garden is so that I don't have to eat processed food anymore.
My GH is for medical purposes, and since I don't separate medical and spiritual, I feel that both need to be in balance for good health. I do have a prescription for it. So my GH does double duty. It's a mess but not like yesterday. Have photos, will share.
'Chelle, my long lost sister, I know you've been working hard, odd how I missed seeing you when I was in OK last summer, and you and I missed seeing each other on your trip to CA. It'll happen when it's supposed to happen. How are your lovely daughters? The new business? Dmail me when you get a free moment.
rrm, my ES says thank you for the compliment on his photos. I think he was surprised anyone cared.
Be back shortly with some photos from my walk to check on the bridge. : - )
Walk In Beauty!
SingingWolf
Got a patch of time when it wasn't raining so I put on my rain suit and wellies (did I tell you DH had to remove a wasps nest from one of them? Ick!), and headed outside.
I just had to start with this photo of ES surveying the gh. We were both wondering what might be swimming in it. Glad I'm not in TX at my YB#2's, 'cause he gets 'gaters!
This one was taken last night. So it was already subsiding at that point.
I continued on my way to the school hoping that I'd have another chance and as I was turning the corner a beautiful double rainbow appeared. I didn't get a photo of it, because by the time it was safe to pull over the angle and light was gone. So I went and parked where I usually do, and was able to get this partial Rainbow.
Hello Singing Wolf,
Looked your walk , just shows there is beauty all around even if the water rises, I have been conplaining about the wet ground and pond over flowing in yard but nothing like what you have , Just hoping with all the freezes and not a leaf left on my lilies they will shine in the spring. Love the bird shots have had some beauties in my yard makes the heart feel good. So glad your back on and being able to take your walks's. Now don't overdo on clean ups you may like where your chair ends up give yo a place to sit and rest.
Hug's
Carolyn
Oh, Carolyn, you will like this photo my YS took, because I was driving really slow. He did a great job!
I am staying dry, and am not cold. Wool keeps you warm even when wet. I wear my wool under my rainsuit when I go hiking along with wool socks and my wellies (rainboots).
DH will clean up the pool, and the deck will come clean with a pressure washing. As I said, DH is a lot more patient than I am. LOL! I did go looking for frogs/toads in the pool this morning but didn't find any. It's still raining off and on, but I think the worst is over for now. This is not a normal occurence for us, but rather something that hasn't been seen for a really long time. At least 25 years around here.
More on my chair in a bit. LOL! : - )
Just so you don't worry too much Carolyn, this is a photo of my GH, and pool this afternoon. It is already starting to dry out.
Good advice Sally. I did open it up, but then the rain started again will keep it open all weekend. (Frogs are singing like crazy now!)
It really helps that DH fixed it so it doesn't come in the back of the GH from Lake Wicked. It earned it's name.
Just like Red Hawk Hill, which I admit to naming. What can I say they hang out up there all the time? It was descriptive. LOL!
Nice reflection in my mud pool.
Look Carolyn my chair is still there, but the island is a peninsula again. I felt so guilty about it, I went over there and hauled that chair (which is a double seater) out of about a half foot of muck and over to higher ground. The ducks will probably come for a visit for sure, and since they've nested there before, I am hoping they will return to nest again!
