Daily Pics Vol. 277

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Good Morning Everyone...time for a new thread and here is a link to the previous one http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1069587/ .

The weather has finally warmed up and we have actually seen the sun a few times although not enough to suit moi!

I have started feeding meal worms again to the Eastern Bluebirds and they are constant visitors again. It is amazing how they found the worms within seconds of setting them out! Here is a beautiful male...

Was just outside and got a couple shots, but it was still a bit too chilly to stay out. Here are a couple of Cowbirds.

And a Collared Dove. I also saw a small flock of parrots, but they were too fast for a shot.

Beautiful shots of the Bluebirds Rose! Thanks for starting the new thread!

Sweet Goldfinch GP!

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Great photos on that last thread! Gee, the threads go by so quickly.

Rose, your bluebird photos are gorgeous. I couldn't pick a favorite.
GP, cute goldfinch, cowbirds and dove.

This Brewers Blackbird about says it all. We've had more than 5 inches of rain since yesterday along with a whopper of a thunderstorm. We went all summer and most of the spring without rain and it seems we're making it up in a matter of days.

dellrose, Loved your bluebirds. Hope some show up here next month, Western Bluebirds, that is. Now I am enjoying the goldfinches.

GP...it always startles me when I see your blue skies and green leaves! I would love to see a Collared Dove again.

Duc...Lucky you to have those beautiful Hummers. I hope that rain doesn't cause too many problems for you folks in Calif.

Donna...I hope the Blues show up for you...they are such a delightful bird. Have you noticed that the Goldfinches are starting to turn colors? Seems like some of ours are and I hope that means that spring is on the way!

Great new thread Rose. When I went out awhile ago I could hear a Blue Bird talking. Your photos are beautiful!

Ohhh...who had the Tom turkeys on the last thread???...that was cool!

Yet another dark gray day here....I did have about 2 cardinals out in back earlier.

Wll gee that should say 20!! LOL

dellrose - nice start to a new thread. Your BB are fantastic. And your last one, the Goldfinch, is really nice.

gardenpom - I don't why, but I always like seeing one of your Collared Doves. And the only time I ever see a small flock of parrots is in a pet shop. :-)

ducbucln - nice pic of the Anna. I haven't seen a Hummingbird in a LONG time.

I may go out later with the camera, but I'm busy doing nothing and only about half way through.

Hi Nanny, That was adel with the Turkeys and here he is again.

Duc, Love your photos. The hummer is beautiful and the Blackbird does look like he's had enough rain. :-)

Rose, Adorable Goldfinch; I hope your right about the Spring.

Good ones adel!

I had a large flock of Common Grackles here this morning.

Manzanita, OR(Zone 8b)

Rose, your goldfinch is just beautiful.

Adel, I meant to mention those turkeys were beautiful. You're lucky you have the toms there. We have 4 females here that we see almost daily, but never a tom with them.

Pelle, pictures!! The grackles are one of my favorites!!

Marlton, NJ

Hi Duc, If they come back I'll try and get some pics of them. Just as I was getting ready to photograph them this morning the Blue Jays put out and alarm call and sent the Grackles flying away. :-)

Hack, LOL!!!!! I wish he was here.:-)

More beautiful shots by everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are in the middle of thunderstorms...I love it. I took these when the sky was clear and within an hour it was dark and stormy.

Hel, Yours look more refined! :-)

Nice shots claudcat! A good variety you have and I always love seeing the White-crowned Sparrows!

Ours look more like the fighting type, just look at their talons in above pic.

Hel.................don't let the feathers fool you. Without feathers our turkeys look like starving Greyhounds.

Do you eat those turkey's?

Thanks Pell. I had a spotted towhee today but, didn't get a photo of it. Of course my scrub jays left when I got my camera. "roll eyes"

Hel, Very interesting turkey:-)

Adel. I wonder how much meat would be on those turkeys when they are plucked? LOL I also
wonder how they would taste. HMMMM?
