I got several shots of my winter visitors today, so I thought I would go ahead and start a thread for them.;

Beautiful GP! It would be so cool to look out and see one of those pretty buntings.

Melbourne, FL

Thanks, nanny. They are a little easier to see since the recent freezes browned most of the garden vegetation.

PERTH, Australia

What gorgeous birds they are, GP. Thank you for the thread.

South Hamilton, MA

I have never seen a painted bunting, would like to do so.

Kissimmee, FL(Zone 9b)

Dear Garden Pom, Would you please put a sign up near your feeder pointing the way to Kissimmee for the painted buntings to see! I would really appreciate it. Thank you in anticipation Madeleine

Paint me green with envy GP! This year if there are any Painted Buntings within 4 hours of us I am going to go find them!

Melbourne, FL

Thanks everyone. Hopefully I'll be able to get a few more pics tomorrow....I should be able to be out back for a few hours to birdwatch.

Wonderful little buntings. Glad you have them, to share with us. I wouldn't mind waking up, to those colorful birds.

Rowlett, TX(Zone 8a)

I am SOOOOOO jealous!!! Painted Buntings nest during the summer around my area, but I've never been lucky enough to attract one to my feeders. Oh my, if I did, I'd probably have a heart attack sprinting towards the camera!! Beautiful photos and thanks for sharing your bounty with us.

GP, your buntings are beautiful. I bet they're a joy to have around. That indigo sure is pretty, even if it's not totally blue yet. You're so lucky to have these birds.

GP, Cute Indigo Bunting!

Thanks. Just saw the male Painted again a while ago, but it's a little too chilly to be outside. Friday should be nicer, I hope he's around then.

Gardenpom, are they the size of a sparrow or are they bigger?

Melbourne, FL

Slightly longer maybe....close in size in general.

I like the yellow background color in your pictures of indigo buntings. They are sweet looking birds.

Melbourne, FL

Looks' great, but the color is from all the dead foliage from the recent freezes.

Here are some more visitors to my feeder.
