Anyone Interest in a Postcard Round Robin???

Cordova, MD

Just a thought- it'd be great to see where we all call home and maybe be able to understand one another better.... so, is anyone interested in a postcard swap or round robin? Not sure how it would work... but I could start one by sending a postcard in a big envelope to someone, then they could add on from their area and send it to another who would add another and so on... or i could make a master address list of those itnerested and email to all interested and you send each persona quick postcard.... any thoughts? Or it this another one of my silly ideas???

I would be interested. I will keep on eye on this thread.

I wish I knew someone who collected post cards. Because I have about 100+ OLD post cards form the mid 50's thru the late 60's actually there are a few neat looking ones in there too. but I have no use for them. anyone know anything about them? lots of them are done in water colors and even a black and white New York one. I am clueless about them though.

Mollybee - You may be able to sell your old postcards on Ebay or through a stamp collector shop.

JSS - The post card swap sounds interesting.

Thanks Vicki, I think I will check into that!

Okay... let's see if we can get a few more.... any ideas on how it should be run????
1) Each of us send one to each person....or
2) I start with one card, send it to the next on the list. That person adds their card and sends it on.... and they accumulate... or
3Any other ideas????
List 'em here !

Count me in!! Sounds like fun...I think #1 is the best idea.

#1 looks like the best choice. That way, everyone will have a chance to see all of the cards.

Cordova, MD

Okay...so far #1 is the way to go... if we can get a few more to join in... then I'll have everyone email me with address and I'll make a master sheet and email to all...
so... keep an eye out on the thread ..

So let me get this right...send a postcard to each person on a list, of where we live (town? or state?) and we get to add words on the back, right?

Fairchild Air Force , WA(Zone 7a)

Count me in on this postcard round robin/swap. It's a great idea! I need something to cheer me up & keep my mind busy, for a little while at least, after having said goodbye last night to my active duty Air Force hubby as he left for somewhere overseas for who knows how long. :-(

I'm new here. Count me in sounds like fun!

Jeanne, for obvious reasons I can't join in but love the idea!! LibbyLiz my late husband was in the RAF and so I know something of what you are going through. Hang in there and if you need to chat please feel free to mail me, but I shall be in Europe from 15th Oct to 6th Nov.

Cordova, MD

Okay- all- email me your address and I'll make out a master list and e-mail it back to you around Wednesday!!! I've already gotten some e-maisl already! Yea! So... anyone else who wants to be deluged by snail mail (he,he)...
I'll send a list to those that are interested and you send a postcard to each person listed!
Try to have the postcard from the area or state in which you live, if possible, or if not, something else... and yes, Shoe, you can write a note, etc.- that makes it all the more interesting!!! And it sounds as though maybe LibbyLiz needs twofrom each of us !LOL!!
Email by Wednesday if you want to added!!!

Fairchild Air Force , WA(Zone 7a)

Louisa, thanks for the empathetic thoughts. :-)

JSS, one postcard per person will be fine, otherwise I can envision the postman now with a "grrrr" look on his face, & me with an "oh no!" look on mine! ;-)

LibbyLiz,

My hubby is active duty AF also. He's had two short tours overseas in the past couple of years as leader of a combat camera team. I'm hoping he doesn't get called up right away (although his staff meeting concluded last week with "Get your gear ready, deployments are commencing").

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I KNOW how hard it is.

Durham, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

can you make the rules a bit clearer? do we send a card to everyone on the list? or does a big parcel of em go round? i don't mind either way, they only cost a few pence each, so as long as there's not 50 people it won't cost much!!

let me know:)

Smiln32, Thank you. My thoughts & prayers are with you & yours as well, and with all other military members & their families.

Cordova, MD

Hi Liltih!
When I get all the emails of those interested, I'll compile a master list and email to everyone! When you get the list, send postcards- preferably one from your area or state where you live- to each person on the list!!! I don;t think we'll have 50 on the list- but I'm hopig for 20 ore so.. should be fun seeing different parts of the world !!!
you can write a short note on the card also, if you'd like... hope this explains a little better! Email if interested!

Hi KendraSue. Glad to have you...(poet here)....someone newer than me on DG! Before moving to Arizona, we visited our daughters here at least once or twice a year for about 5 years. We would go sightseeing all around the state. I could never resist buying post cards...then sticking them in my "tour" box. Going to dig them out now and use them in this "round robin" and save me some cash too! Let the games begin!! Jo
