I think everybody knows this but me...

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

plain tennis balls remove static?? never heard that.

We like our Sham Wows but I can't swear they are any better than an old towel for soaking up spills. DMIL bought them. She also bought Yoga Toes. UGH, what is enjoyable about cramming this big rubber thing on your toes??? And once I tried it I can't give it away, yuck. Trash.

I bought my tween son a Kitchenaid version of Slap Chopper. Works pretty well if you're not fussy about all the choppings being very uniform. And saves the nice knife--loved him helping with cooking but hated hearing the knife whacking on the cutting board..

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

vossner, you started this where are ya? Anyone tried those hang on the wall tooth paste squirters? I like the idea. Saw reviews on booty pog, suposed to inhance your booty. Showed pics of ladys with big lumps walking down the street lol

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

sorry, I was hunting for more scams in which to get suckered, lol.

but truly, I am ashamed. I kept thinking about the bags that Tir mentioned and simply HAD to go to WM yesterday and get one, $20. I will report here as to results.

I don't like oxyclean. I'm a clorox junkie. I love the smell after washing, even if it destroys my fabrics. I'm buying cottons (socks, etc) about every 6 mo.

I just like to say shamwow

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Well I just use those plastic zipper bags that blankets and such come in to store my clothes. Have had prom dresses and memories store in them for years, never thought about sucking the air out of them, will let ya know, have the air pump left from the bogus air bed lol

(Zone 6a)

We have shamwows, they work ok. Have you all sen the comercial for smartmop? Where the guy says it works so well you can mop up your spilled soda and put it right back in the glass?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Ummm Putting soda from the floor back into my glass would certainly make ME want to order.....grin and pay huge handling fees.....double fees if ya take the special free product offer....LOL....OOOO I need one of those.......grin.

So, is that a type of chamois mop? Do they offer a lifetime supply of mop replacement pads with purchase?

(Zone 6a)

I'm not sure....all I know is it's called the "SmartMop" I think it was on youtoube.............let me see if I can find it. You'll get a kick from watching it!

..........found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rr6qaG8RlUk

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

too funny! I wonder how many people bought it b/c they could drink their spills, lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL!!! No kidding! I actually wish I watched more commercials, I missed this one completely, along with a few others.
Swiffer turned out pretty good, who has a Swiffer?

(Zone 6a)

I don't use swiffer anymore, apparently it leaves behind some chemical thats very similar to anti-freeze.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

Not true: http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/swiffer.asp

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks Steven...I was delighted to know that , Yes I can get a second set free just pay separate shippping & handling.....grin

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

My other post is not here?? Oh well... I just damp mop most of the time, but DH is a very messy cook, so I swiffer the kitchen.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Every now and then, a post grows legs and wanders off, Juney Bug...grin I think they go cyber-surfing....grin

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

It is odd that I got the page saying that it had been posted....it took forever to get it though. I have "trouble" when going from page to page sometimes and Dave said that the Dave's search engine was enabled and that was slowing things down.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Which post disappeared?

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

I had posted another one about how I just use a damp string mop except for in DH's kitchen...

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Nope, guess that one is cyber surfing....grin

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

Surfing over the ½ pot of beans that he spilled about an hour ago? I found that a dust pan makes a quick cleanup of even that ^_^ When he did it, he announced that he was going to be late for work and I needed to clean it up for him. Yeah, I could'a thrown it into cyber space... He is an expert at getting other people to "do the dirty work" Or maybe the post went into the garbage can along with the beans it was surfing on...

(Zone 6a)

I see your link Juney about the swiffer wet jet? Is that the post? I didn't read the whole page but it said you can drink large amounts of the swiffer solution and just get stomch upset, not that I plan on drinking it any time soon. I was actualy referring to the swiffer dry cloth, I was told that one leaves something behind. But either way thank you for the link!

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

Eww, Does the Pledge Grab-It have the same stuff in it? I love those little things...

Quote from pastime :
It seems that in these hard times, more and more useless crap is being offered on TV. Has anyone seen the vibrating dumb bells commercial? Supposed to give you twice the workout. When we first saw the commercial, we thought it was a joke, but they're really for sale. I hope Saturday Night Live picks up on that one. My DH was demonstrating the commercial at a recent party. The hostess had to leave the room before she wet her pants from laughing.

Ellen hooked on to that and gives it to guest as a gag gift sometimes to celebrities!! When she first showed it on her show I was on the floor...HYSTERICAL!!! LOL

I have almost bought those Sapce Bags...glad I didn't!

I have a Swiffer WET JET...I love that thing. Told DH I would cut back on expensive cleaning supplies but would NOT give up my Swiffer!

Nanny glad to hear you say that, I just got one. Mine is battery operated, and think they have come out with a new and improved version.

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

It was one thing that was IMPERATIVE that we bring with us to Korea! I knew that nobody has carpeted floors here and that I could not do without my wet jet. It took putting in a request at the Army grocery store to get the liquid, and a quick search of all of them between here and south of Seoul, but we found a bottle and now have them in our regular store ^_^ Life is easier with a Swiffer!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Mine has the batteries. I have had it for 3 years.

I really like the Swiffer Duster but just feel the refills are too expensive. You can find some that work on it at the Dollar Store sometimes. But I have gone to a micro-fiber one that I can wash. It just doesn't have that nice long extension handle. So I carry around a little step stool to reach the ceiling fans (only 5' tall).

Waterman, IL(Zone 5a)

I'll have to dig out my Swiffer from the basement. I stopped using it because I couldn't keep up a supply of refills. Are the refills they sell at the Dollar Store any good?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I don't have a Swiffer of any kind, I use a Webster for the sills and fans, mop and broom for the kitchen and bathrooms, vacuum for carpet, I'm technical! LOL

Vibrating dumb bells, I haven't seen that one!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Well hope they sell refills and pads at dollar store, if not guess I'll be using my rag mop again Nanny lol.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

I have never seen any for the Wet Jet at the dollar store yet, just for the duster. They are okay but not quit as fluffy and shed more than the Swiffer brand.

Here is the Shake Weight Commercial! :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4S3C4AC908w

Be sure to watch the one with Ellen too!

They were talking about the shake weight commercial for men on the radio yesterday. I haven't seen it, but supposedly has a couple men in close proximity to each other, and their shake weights held out in front of them, exercising away...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL I'm going to show that to Dave and see if he thinks it would really work.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

They could do that with the chicken drumsticks and get same results lol

Dover AFB, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL

Olympia, WA

Thanks for the link - and the route into Ellen's presentation - that is an absolute HOOT!!!!!!!!!

Waterman, IL(Zone 5a)

The friend who hosted the party where my DH was demonstrating the Shake Weights commercial to, stopped by yesterday. She recently had rotator cuff surgery and while at a follow up visit to the doctor, he told her to fill old milk jugs with water and use them as weights, while shaking them. Good for strengthening the healing rotator cuff. Maybe there is a place for the Shake Weights after all.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Really want one of those steam cleaner devices for windows and such, haven't found anything thats doesn't streak. Nope not gonna do it, it will be a lemon lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Wal Mart used to sell this foaming glass cleaner in a can, I don't know if they still do but I hope so because I'm almost out, it does not streak. It's called Sprayway Glass Cleaner, looks like something that came from Amway, heck it could be for all I know, I've had the can for years but I swear I got it at Wal Mart, I've never known anyone that sells Amway.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I guess my post went cyber-surfing....

Try white vinegar and newspaper. Put the vinegar full strength in a spray bottle and use the newspaper to clean and shine windows. Only use the newsprint, not the glossy ads. Keeps the french doors that the dogs smudge up shiny...

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Crissyr I have used the foam and really did like it, just can't find it anymore! Wouldn't ya know, everything that works they take it off the market. Moon will try the vinegar again, must not have been holding my tongue right :-)

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

moonhowl is right. nothing like vinegar/water to clean/shine glass. I've always liked Windex exclusively b/c it didn't have as much soap in the formula as other brands and thus didn't leave a cloudy film. However, they have altered the formula where it leaves the filmy residue. So, I've gone to vinegar mixed w/ water. I may still use Windex to clean some caked food residue but will finish it off w/ vinegar/water that I keep in a spray bottle.
