Had not heard of the fires, Pixie. So cold with winter hazzards. Good luck to them.
Coffee Break #29 - Halfway through January
is anyone having problems with the spring photo thread? the skip to new is not always working for me and dragging down is a day behind. i's say 50% time i can't get to it.
None.
Tylenol recall has expanded. Here is where you can check:

Another reason to get your eyes checked regularly:

Tylenol recall? I can't move w/o the Arthritis strength--what recall?
Nevermind--I found the info...Mine smell fine and my lot # is not on the list. Thanks for the heads up though!
My security will not let me access the tylenol web. Can someone tell me the jist of it?
A chemical from the wood pallets seeped into some bottles while being stored at the factory - causes nausea and vomitting--ans has a mouldy/musty odor if you sniff the open bottle--the warning also gives lot #'s--guess this started 1 1/2 years ago--the recall is new--a little time lag there!
Thank you Phoebe.
yvw!
funny
"The cause of the floor's collapse remains under investigation. "
hmmmmmmm
How does a chemical seep into a bottle? ewwwww
That's their story, and they're sticking to it! I had the same thought.
Evil Genies? I thought we weren't supposed to take Tylenol anymore cuz it hurts your livers and kidneys?
I don't tolerate nsaids well, and if I don't take something, I have pain--the lesser of 2 evils. I try to take it only when I have to work.
Painfree is most important phoebes.
Who said anything about painfree--I'm usually aiming for more tolerable.
:(
And with that...we bring today's whine-fest to a hasty conclusion!
Have to really overdo Tylenol to affect the liver.
Victor; You haven't answered my question
Aged.. I think Victor is avoiding a confrontation over your initial rude question... and I see he is ignoring your follow up.. please drop it.. the last thing any of us want to see is fighting again
sorry Victor if I am wrong for speaking for you
Sorry Victor I didn't intend to be rude.I was just curious/No offense. intended JOY
For those of you who have been watching me brag about my seven year old granddaughter Jenna, who will be the youngest child ever at the dojo to get her black belt (dojo has been open almost 30 years), she had her final run today, and had to stay under 16. She aced it at 14:46 for two miles. She still may not get the black belt if they feel she has some other shortcoming, but I think we would know by now.
I called her last night, and said if she made her time I would take her for a grammy and me day, out to eat, and to buy something. I'm not above bribery.
that's great polly! she must have a proud mother and father too
Oh yes. They weren't above bribery either, but she does love a Grammy and me day. Unfortunately a couple of her friends didn't make it. One came in at 16:01, and they would have given her a second chance, that close, but she was whining all the way. Jenna cut almost 1/2 minute off her last best time. But the road was clear for the first time, no snow or ice, so I'm sure that made a difference. Now in about two weeks we'll know if she is getting her black belt for sure.
Jumper 2's sisters were distance runners in high school. If they broke a certain time I took them out for lobster dinners as encouragement. Not too expensive as I don't like lobster & could eat something else. Distance runners move from personal best to personal best so can get discouraged.
Your children are all athletic, Lucy? How many children do you have?
that's great Polly!!!
We have 3 daughters Jumper 2 played field hockey. the other 2 were runners, with the older of those being quite athletic. She worked at it very hard. Both started in field hockey & switched to cross country after a couple of springs of track.
Thanks Allison!
Your poor husband, Lucy! A house full of women. Field hockey is quite the sport. Good for you for getting them all involved.
Polly, how exciting for your granddaughter! I will be anxious to hear that she gets her black belt! Fingers and toes crossed! That is some accomplishment even if she does not get it for some reason! Hope you have a wonderful Grammy and me day!!
Iris - sounds like you have some fantastic girls....of course we know one of them and think she's terrific! :)
Thank you for keeping all the digits crossed Louise. Any help we can get at this point. If Jenna was eight it wouldn't be as exciting, as they have had quite a few eight year olds get their black belts. And if Jenna has to go into cycle again, the cycle is six month, and by the time she's done she will have turned eight. So we're hoping. But believe me, we're very proud of her already. She's a very hard worker.
Here's Jenna stretching in class. She's the one stretched way down. The little girl next to her is nine, and she is expected to get her black belt also.
Jenna sure looks coordinated for her age! Wow!
She is. And she tries so hard. There have been days she's gone out and jumped around a little, or laughed at a joke, but for a seven year old, she is super focused. In all things she does. At home she's a nut. But at school her teacher says she is very focused, and hardly ever messes around with the other kids in the classroom, and then at recess goes wild.
Not only did I play field hockey, but I rode horses and jumped them. They don't play field hockey in my area in OH. I miss seeing it.
I was wondering around on Dave's this morning.. start with this post and go down.. how cool would that be???
