Lets clean the attics Gypsies

Man its amazing what a "Girls Night Out" can do for the ole spirit. I have giggled all day with those images! Just popped in to say Hi, I'm bushed and gonna veg out this evening. You people have fun and will catch up with ya in a day or so. Dixie is sick and won't be on until she starts feeling better, had to come home from work with sore throat and sinus pressure, the same as what Venice had I think.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

See what playing in the hot tub in the winter does for ya? Get well soon, Dixie Chick. Flowers, have a sweet evening and rest up from that heavy duty partying....grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I feel great girls...maybe you should act your age like me..LOL

Just popped in to say Hello before homework.

I don't like those popcorn ceilings either Moon..luckily I only have one of them left. :)

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Moon your place is looking good lady, Sounds like you are gonna get done just in time to enjoy DD and family, won't be to much longer. Keep up the good work! JJ is your bubble all gone still? Smiley, you were a ball of fun last night, hope you got some rest today. Wonder if Venice got that boxwood planted yet? lol. Next time we will be sure Joy,Kassy,Seed, and Marti can go with us :-) Got home and Sparky had taught the 14 yungins to spit plum across the room into a mater can, they were good shots too. Only thing is I was saving that can to put my cigar butts in. Oh well they had fun too!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Yeah JJ will remember that you ole Pole dancer, oh by the way, I want my share of those tips you were stashing, after all it was my idea!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks, Flowers...posted a job list today for DH and GS....no way I can or will do it all. Spring cleaning is a family affair....grin

Have fun with the Homework, JJ

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Well just look at it this way Moon, come spring you will have more time to jerk weeds :-)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Thanks honey....that helps...lots....lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Buffalo were up next to road today, but was stomping around in mud, so will wait until the grass grows back in to take nice picture of them, some cute baby ones too.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh boy, DS just called and needs sitter for tomorrow.
Little grand (Dillon has pink eye, bronchitis and ear infection).
Any volunteers? Going to be a long night.

Get this, grand was with his mom and son called to check on him. She says" he has green stuff in his eyes and coughing up stuff"... son.."Are you taking him to Dr."

She says "No my friend said it was nothing to worry about." So son had to leave work to take him to the Dr.

What is wrong with this generation of girls, I'm batting 0 for 2 over here...

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

I'm with you JJ, they have lost any sense of mothering instincts. Put a light layer of vaseline on his eyes so they won't stick shut, that is a scarey thing to wake up and can't open your eyes, remember those days.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

I remember, but don't recall ever putting vaseline on eyes before.

If I can get him to hold still I may try it.
Son said he couldn't get the eyedrops in his eye...geesh guess I have to be the bad guy again.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

You may not believe it but baby shampoo is good for pink eye and eye infections. Mix one part shampoo to 10 parts water and bath eyes every couple of hours all day and about every 4 hours the next. Just mix it in a coffee cup, and dip fingers in it and rub on his eyes, it won't burn and will sooth them too.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

My aunt had little skin tags around her eyes. She used to rub baby shampoo (only Johnson & Johnson's) around her eyes & they fell off.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, the way I put eye drops in is to put it in the inside corner of the eye, tilt my head, and let it go over the whole eye. Not as tramatic as putting the drop right in the center of the eye.

I can't believe Dixie and Dillion are now infected. So sorry and hope you both get well real soon.

I had to call my doctor this week and let her know how I am doing. Left message so she will call back tomorrow. I am finishing up the second round of steroids on Saturday. I still have a problem with my ear especially in the morning, this tremor, voice not normal, breathe fast, tired or no energy a lot of the time. So I wonder what remedy will be next.

My poor son has problems with his feet, bad arthitis in toes of right foot, and bad achilles heal problem with the other foot. The right foot will be operated on first but he didn't tell me when but said he would be off work about 1 1/2 to 2 months. Since it is his right foot, he won't be able to drive. He has short term and long term disability so that will help. I sure hope he has health insurance. The only time I talk to him it seems is when he is driving to or from work and we don't get our conversations finished.

Hope the rest of you girls are doing ok and don't get lost or stuck in your closets or attics.

I have a lot of junky trashy things, boxes, packing paper, school papers, and flower stuff in my other bedroom. No really large things or nothing organized. And I have stuff sitting in the hall that should go in that room That room isn't gross but there is just too much stuff.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, just do what your doctor has said or ask the doctor about doing other things, just to be sure.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

by all means JJ do what doc says, I wouldn't steer ya wrong with little ones eyes at stake, and since I have done it numerous times, know it is safe for a quick remedy until meds can kick in. Have a Good evening all.

(Zone 5b)

hi all, sorry I missed you all today! I'll try to come back on in a bit to catch up.
i had a great day at work. I really like my job!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks guys.
Flowers I know you wouldn't steer me wrong.
Venice I hope you get better soon, it sure has been hanging on to you.
Lynnie glad you love your job, makes the days a lot shorter.

Picked up the little guy and he said "I hurt my eye and dad dropped my eyeball,"
I said it didn't hurt did it, he said " I cried". LOL

We just got home and I was putting his meds up and he seen the drops and said " gramma I don't want my eyeball dropped.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

What do you think?
Son said left eye..both eyes are gunky...I think prescribed amount in left eye that is the worst and 1/2 that in the other eye that is starting to show symptoms..

Well?

(Zone 5b)

yeah that's a good idea, JJ, kids rub their hands all over their eyes at that age.
what's th eprescription? is it drops or ointment? is it antibiotics?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Its drops of gentamicin sulfate ophthalmic solution and then he has amoxicillin for his ear infection.
Both eyes have that gunk in them so thats what I thought, or it will just go frome one eye to the other

We are watching race to witch moutain.
catch you in a bit

(Zone 5b)

oh I loved that movie when I was a kid!

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Think we killed this kid the fit he throws over eyedrops.

Catch you all in the morning
sweet dreams

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

We had a friend who's daughter had an eye infection once. He couldn't get her to sit still, we had her lay on the couch and look at our finger wa-ay over here (past the other eye). While she was looking way to the left, we put the drops in her eye way to the right.

In other words, we had her look the other way over. She wasn't concentrating on the eye dropper, so she didn't panic about it.

See y'all in the morning.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

T.G.I.F. Coffee and bagels on the table.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning Smiley.
Coffee and bagel sounds good

(Zone 5b)

morning JJ & Smiley!
JJ my kids were the same way, no matter what ya did to them they acted like they were being tortured, screaming, crying ugh! Even washing their hair!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Morning All.

JJ. Sorry L'il Dil is sick...somebody needs to plant a boot where it will do the most good....grin

Morning Lynnie...I am so glad you love your job. Life is just easier when work goes well.

Morning Smiley....yes, it is Friday. are you gonna be off Monday for MLK day?

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning Lynnie,
This one don't like his hair washed either.
Hollered... I can't see ...this morning eyes matted shut. Then didn't want them washed out.

Tax returns can be filed starting today...hurray
Just finished one for a truck driver friend.

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

Morning Moon,
Not sure a solid planted boot would even get the messsage across....
Think her reasoning is...I don't want to pay for Dr. and I know someone else will take him if I don't.

Gotta keep that almighty dollar for shopping and such don't you know.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Understand completely....Still searching for the cure for GS's incubator's illness....but don't think there is a cure for stupid, lazy or selfish.
I found a cloth soaked in warm water and let them wash eyes themselves worked. GS used to say he was scared his eyes wouldn't ever open. We called it Warm Magic and he went along pretty well. We used REFRESH ointment at night after he went to sleep. Lubricates the eye, and has the consistency of Vaseline, but in a small tube. So easy to use when they are asleep and prevents the eyes from gunking shut.

Dronfield, United Kingdom

Hi everyone,good afternoon.
home from work and awaiting the arrival of DH,then weekly supermarket shopping:}
JJ,I'm so sorry about your little GS and his eye infection, cos I know what it's like. When Will,my 14 year old was about 3,he had a quite bad chest infection, which needed Dr's treatment.Whilst he was unwell I started feeling itching in both eyes, then awoke one morning with them gunked together,I also felt a bit ill too.I went to Dr,who said it was same infection little son had,but had come out in a diiferent way/place,with me.Dr gave me drops and anti-biotic capsules to take.It took a while to clear and I'd pain behind my eyes for some time.Dr said it was Viral Conjuntivitis.Thank goodness,I've never had it again since, hope never do.
Hope so much Dillon's better soon,Dr was definately necessary.
My elder one didn't mind hair wash,younger used to scream the place down:}

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good Afternoon Joy. Know you are looking forward to DH's return. Think I remember you saying he was off to Wales next week? Wishes for a safe trip to him.
Conjunctivitis is more dangerous that most folks realize. Left untreated it can damage the eyes. Because GS is on regular allergy meds he is not as prone to eye infections as before...histamine blockers seem to keep mucous from draining into his eyes.

Hope you have a lovely evening...sure DH will have much to relate from the City....grin

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

JJ, sorry Dillion is such a mess. He's got to get better soon.

My doctor said my tremor should go away about a week after I finish the steroids tomorrow. And my ear and voice should clear up using Nasinex. If not, call back next week.

Lynnie, glad your job really suites you.

Hope Dixie is doing better.

Joy,I know it will be nice having your DH around again.

We are having a meltdown. Not much snow left. Can you believe, it is 38 degrees already!!!

(Zone 5b)

it feels absolutely spring like here! the sun is out! I think it's about 40 degrees.
I went to the gym this morning. You guys go on and double up on the donuts ;)

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Good afternoon all. Joy, how's my horsie doing? Glad your DH is coming home, you must miss him. I've never experienced that, we've always been together everywhere.

Moon, are you done with closets? Or were you in the attic? Find anything good??

How is everyone else, JJ, Lynnie, Venice? I think Flowers is laying on the couch eating bonbons and watching goopy love stories on the hallmark channel.

Dixie, hope you're feeling better soon.

(Zone 5b)

I'm going to start on bonbons soon, I'm STARVING...just ate a steak and I'm STARVING. Mayeb I should go back to endo and be checked for a parasitic worm lol

What's for lunch Smiley?

Dixie I hope you're taking it easy! Too much hootin' & hollerin' the other night!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Lunch is all gone. Deja Vu: I had half a turkey club sub and some chips. Now I'm going crazy because I have the fresh coffee but not the danged sweet!!!

How can you be starving if you just ate? Maybe you're just not full.

Don't bogart them bonbons, my friend... pass them on to me.... ♪

(Zone 5b)

I just cooked a roast with cut up sweet & white potatoes, onions & mushrooms...it smells almost too good to wait till dinner.
