Here is porch row
2010 Philly Flower Show, Passport to the World, 2-28 to 3-7
ABC featured an opening night gala here last night, but we weren't able to gaze at the flower scenes as long as we wanted to. Here we can soak it all in to our hearts delight.
Thank you.
gotta love those displays to get the wheels turning
By the way:
GO YANKEES!!
that patio needs a drink with an umbrella!!
oops cross posted.. sorry.. I meant the first one
Great pics!
The rock garden display is toward the back. Just walk straight
back from the left side (looking into the room) of the Subaru car.
They ususally have PNC park area for "lost persons".
Tam
OK, now I have (slightly different) descriptions from both Tammy & Mitt of how to get to the rock garden display... I'm sure we can find it, but the question is -- is it close enough to the entrance to make a good meeting place, or what other exhibit would be closer? I figure it's good to meet at an exhibit, because that gives people something to do other than stand around waiting. LOL
When you go to the show check out this Blue Ribbon winner. Right under the ribbon it says something like 19 years, 3 months, 2 weeks, 6 days, 18 hours, 44 minutes, and 53 seconds...yada, yada, yada
Now I'm not bragging. But, I've created the same thing under my bed in 10 days........two weeks tops! ;-)
d mail from Stormy says plans have changed to have early dinner/late lunch at 3 or 4 then go back.
Sounds like a good plan. I was going to cancel the reservations at Magiano's anyway because of the weather forecast for Wednesday.
Mitt, Your photos are great! There is a lot of red and orange mixed in this year. I love all of the porch scenes and especially the porch row. Now, if only your neighbors would cooperate! It's great that you posted that photo. A whole thread, or even a forum could be made around that. People can show their neighbors the concept with that photo.
Your underbed propagation technique bears exploring! Those Hypertufas are wonderful.
My Gosh, Holly will love that Topiary.
Lady & Froggy will love that one.
I can't go on Wednesday, my friend can't go that day and I didn't want to drive down by myself.
Great pictures Tammy. Was it very crowded today ?
Wonderful photos!
Sorry to interrupt the photo show with logistics... will try to make up for it with more photos after we go!
Jen, sorry you can't join us on Wednesday... maybe you can join Stormy there on Monday (tomorrow!) if she's still planning to go?
I asked Stormy if she'd be able to join us for an earlier meal and then maybe come along back to the show with us afterward, so we could all take advantage of the lessened crowds after 4 pm. (there must be a bunch of bus tours or something that leave around then!) She thought that would work, so our new plan is to have a late lunch / early dinner around 3 (we can bump it back to 4 depending on Stormy's schedule, I figure she can reach me on my cell before 11 am for sure), and then we could return to the show by 4 or 5.
Roses, thank you for posting the link to the floor plan! I was looking for that on the flower show site but didn't spot it. The Subaru might be a good meeting spot, and there are those plant entries just to its left that we could poke around in if we end up waiting a bit for somebody to catch up. ?
So... new schedule for Wednesday... just so we have a plan (obviously subject to change!)
11:30 Meet at (or just to the left of) the Subaru (the smaller exhibits on the left will probably be less crowded.?)
1:30-ish Meet up at PHS Satellite Shop to check out vendor booths
3:00 Meet up at Subaru, go out for food (steak sandwiches, or down the block for burgers at Hard Rock Cafe, or to Magianno's?)
4:30-ish Back in the main exhibit hall, concentrating on the larger exhibits to the right side
OK... we can cancel due to weather or whatever if needed ("Open Table" reservation service's policy says please cancel at least 30 min before reservation time, no problem), but Maggiano's had a table for 6 available at 3:30, so I reserved it.
Sounds like a good plan should fit everyone. RIc and I just got back from Pettersburg, Va. Really looking forward to it.
