Sports Talk!!

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

re: Super Bowl... I'll cheer for the defence.... or maybe the offence.
LOL!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

JoAnn that is great, I have been to many of them, I'll have to check out the ones we haven't seen yet.

Thomaston, CT

That was a beautiful shot----hope I can get to my niece's in Aug. to do more hiking! Hey, what's wrong with blue & orange? Love it in the flower garden! And I agree about teaching kids to lose graciously----this 'feel good' approach disconnects some kids from reality----I saw it in school.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

orange and blue were my high school colors
and I like it in the garden too

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Aren't they Syracuse's colors too?

South Hamilton, MA

Syracuse's blue is sort of navy, looks almost black on some uniforms. My HS colors were blue & grey as were DH's. Funny went our schools were in WI & NY. For gardens I like a black & yellow combo. Used that with Queen of Night & yellow tulips at one time. That garden didn't have deer running around to eat them.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well I bet on the Colts, so please root for them so I can stimulate the economy by buying plants or photo equipment!

South Hamilton, MA

People you bet with can buy stuff for themselves heh, heh!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

ha ha

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

don't even know the spread of the game

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I'm sure the money ultimately send up with the mafia. Doubt they do anything the honest way!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

So far, so good!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Colts are lucky to still be up. Saints dominated the 2nd.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

More over the hill rockers pretending to be playing at half time. Maybe Elvis' ghost next year??

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

They are much better than Elvis. I reconized the riff for 'Pinball Wizard' right away.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I doubt they were playing it live.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

IDK Pete Townsend messed up singing one part didn't look like they would have had that in there if he was lip syncing.

One of the better half time shows in awhile, seemed shorter for some reason too.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

and imho some of these commercials are pretty lame.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I didn't even watch the show. Yes, not many good commercials so far.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Well now you know why I never bet!!

Yonkers, NY(Zone 5b)

Hey! Victor!
You nearly had the call right.... but in reverse.
Your call on 2/2...
Colts 33 - Saints 17

Actual final.... Saints 31 - Colts 17.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I know, Nancy! Don't remind me!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

this is why they play the game - great game

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sorry Victor.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not sure about great. I would say very good. NO played aggressively from the get go.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Jen! No biggie. Didn't bet the deed!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

That's good, your wife would have killed you.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Could have bet her. ^_^

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

hahahaha

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Would have had to keep her since I lost...

South Hamilton, MA

The main thing to me was that it was a good game, not a runaway. Didn't care who won.

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

It was a good game, interesting, to say the least. Our party crashed, like a roof full of snow. Holly couldn't understand why I was talking to my self. I guess she wasn't following my play by play commentary. LOL Ric

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

The on-side kick was the play of the game.

South Hamilton, MA

I missed that play because I had something else to do at that time. (my blood sugar equipment lives in the dining room).

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

My blood sugar plummeted when I saw it!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i thought indy recovered (it looked like they had before the pile grew) and then the saints stole it back - would have loved to see where the guy credited with recovering it started from and when he arrived at the pile - my guess is that he was not in the first 5 or 6 to the pile.

gutsy call to go for that!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I am thrilled about the Saints. I have visit New Orleans a lot in the last couple of years and went to a Saints game last year.

I also must admit that I was at a HOT curling match on Thurs. night in Brookline, Ma. Teams from Canada and US at a 3 day tournament. Great stuff. Can't wait for the Olympics. "Not in My House!" My Grandmother was from Vancouver, but I haven't been there in years. Lovely spot, I hope they get some snow. My Grandfather who lived in Detroit was very serious about curling and was on teams in both in the US and in Canada. Here is an old family shot of him taken in ??? He is the tall skinny guy on the right. Equipment has changed, but the pin thing has not. They love their pins. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool pic. Why would they never pick up a broom to help around the house??

South Hamilton, MA

I saw curling when I lived in WI. The brooms HAVE improved. Can't wait for the Olympics--start Fri.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

What a handsome group, love the hats.
I heard on the news this am they are using hay and snow helicoptored in to form a base. Teams will get less practice time due to the snow shortage, should have had it in Pa.
I am very much looking forward to the Olympics and by the time they are over it will be close to March and maybe an early spring.
Also like to watch the Curling on the tube and I agree the right team won the football game last night that I did not watch.
