Sports Talk!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Ugh. The Vikes should have won. I'll probably root for the Saints now.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

man someone wanted the saints to win - ugly end of the game

farve goes down a gunslinger - you could always depend on a few brain cramp throws - too bad

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Very exciting game, but yes - very ugly.

South Hamilton, MA

Farve last play as a Packer was an interception which kept them out of championship game. It is tough to remember that as he accomplished so much for 16 yrs. I think tonight having to step onto his injured ankle to throw didn't help him. Glad the Saints won however as the city needs it. Plus I dislike Vikings as they are a division rival.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - to the Giants.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Son's girlfriend was meeting some clients to take them to a Houston Rockets game and out front of the Hilton a guy got out of a shuttle and Andy thought he looked familiar and realized it was Dave Winfield and then DW said as he's kinda looking next to andy, 'Hey, Reggie' and it was Reggie Jackson next to my son. He didn't realize it cuz he was looking at DW. He's got some nice perks having this girlfriend that has to take clients to bball games and fball games.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool, Jan!

Colts are favored by 3 1/2. I think the Colts will win.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Is she an event planner? My friend's daughter did that and got to rub elbows with some rich and famous. She did not like Lance Armstrong.

I think the Colts will win but I'll be rooting for the Saints, even if they did make me cry last night.

South Hamilton, MA

I'm indifferent to the winner this year, so can just watch the game & enjoy.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I like both teams but gotta go with the Saints. Head would say Colts but going with my heart. Besides, if they get the divine intervention that they received yesterday...

Oh, and did I mention the Huskies?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh, are you a UConn fan, Dave? ^_^ I saw the Army hockey team beat them last Friday.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

Nope, Venu, she is a sales rep for a chemical company.

Don't follow sports as much as when the 'boys' were home. Then it was mostly college basketball, especially Duke and Coach K.

Don't know whether to post this here or on Misc shots, just pulled these pics from the archives

Sideline tickets, baby! that I won in a sales contest when working for JCP

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool! Did they win?

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

I totally don't remember I have the video tape, I'll have to review it and let you know.

Funny thing, they got us on tv and because I was the shortest one I was the only one who got their face on tv, too

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Check this out. 70% of the Army hockey team is on the Dean's list! Five players have GPA's higher than 3.67. How many college teams can boast that?!

South Hamilton, MA

Need to train kids to work in high school instead of just concentrate on sports, music & TV. They all won't be Dean's List but can have better academic standing. Military people better be good because of future careers.

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

I would guess that since the Olympics are being held in a location that is within a few timezones of most of the country (I can never remember how far away Hawaii is), that US viewership will be higher than previous Olympics when things were on in the early morning or being broadcast after everyone already saw on the internet who the winner was.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

True. Hate when it's halfway around the globe - hard to see anything live.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

UConn tanked. From the high of last Saturday to this. A basket with 3 seconds left sunk them.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

celts are tanking too - could not believe they lost to Orlando being up 11 points all game.

South Hamilton, MA

& they were obviously tired last night.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Good Army-Air Force hockey game. Tie 3-3. Army tied it with 10 seconds left in the third period, with the goalie pulled. Very physical game! They don't seem to like each other.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Superbowl predictions???

Colts 33 - Saints 17

South Hamilton, MA

who knows--predicitions don't happen. Now 'score wanted' is different.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

colts win

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I think I will bet on the Colts if the spread stays this low.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

can't remember the last time i gambled

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Sunday in Atlantic City - no luck. Took my sister Sue, and David and Lindsey came for the day Saturday. We had fun anyway.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Fun to have a day like that, Deb. I was never into casinos at all. I rarely bet, but I have a feeling...

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

GO JAYS GO! Only one month til Grapefruit League! GO JAYS GO!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I really don't know what to think about the game Sunday.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Geeez!!!!!!!

What a shame, after all the work which goes into running the Olympics.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Cypress always had hit and miss snow when I lived in Vancouver. I'm sure they are working 25/8 to make and keep it in the best condition as possible. I am rooting for all the athletes at that venue.

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

I'm sending snow thoughts they're way! I love watching the Olympics.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Me too jumper2!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I think Colts. I'm hoping Saints.
