Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day - Part 5

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Love all the pictures!

Thanks Patti.

Those pinks are gorgeous Allison!

I winter sowed some poppy seeds this year, some I bought and some two nice DGers sent me (thanks Jo Ann!). I can't wait to see how they do. And I love poppy seeds on a bagel, with cream cheese and cucumbers.

When do the somniferum poppies bloom? And what goes well with them?

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Victor - I get a free pass on photo #2 of the day only because this is in reply to a question, right?

Eartheart Gardens does a wonderful job with poppies and JI's.

Oh, yay, sedum. The bed I sowed them in has sedum Matrona in already. Of course, every bed has JIs. So sedum, actea and JIs. It sounds like they can pretty much take any moisture conditions. Better and better.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I have seen these poppies growing thru the cracks of a sidewalk.
thet are tough

I love the color on this azalea, I need to try to make a start(is that the right term?) of it, it's getting buried under my huge rhody.

I layered this azalea last fall. I hope to get a new one.

Wonderful photos everyone!!

Do the annual poppies bloom all season? If so, I think I should try some this year.

Allison - isn't that Candy Stripe? Regardless of the name it is lovely and it does spread. My daughter's patch of it is about four square feet.

Louise - can you say the name of that iris three times, really fast, after two drinks?

Victor - Beautiful shot of Serotina!

WC - Wonderful orange color on that tulip and another great photo.

Here's Louisiana iris, Megan Victoria.
