Countdown to spring! One garden photo per day - Part 5
Beautiful Iris pirl, looks big too!
Beautiful, Pirl! Looks like the one I posted earlier, only more purple.
Great clem, WC!
Oh, those primulas are to die for, Mike. Any idea of the names?
Lots of pretties. Achillia,J. iris,Mountain Laurel, primroses and a lovely pink clem. and Dnut has got me tempted with the gorgeous yellow honeysuckle. Does it have a name ?
OMG pirl that doesn't even look like an iris, it's so poofy! Luv the pinks of the Kasmia and clemmie! ngam I inherited that honeysuckle with the house. I believe it is 'Mandarin'
nice pics everyone
Zounds! That clematis is too beautiful to be true!
Beauty!
thank you - wondering how it will come back this year - all the bottom leaves browned & died during the year - that had not happened in the past
nice jen
both nice Bill & Jen
Two different types of pretty iris, wildflowers, a clematis that is hard to beat and an adorable little daisy, a lovely way to start my day.
Bill your clem will be fine I'm sure, they are tough as nails and I think it was the never ending rain and slugs that mucked up the foliage and caused wilt. Blackened leaves and slugs six feet up a clem vine were common here last season, yuck.
This is the only snow I like to see around here. In early june it is welcome to have snow in summer.
I planted some snow in summer on the slope next to the house 2 years ago.. last year it was only a tiny patch.. hope it makes it
It doesn't like the wet and mine suffered some last year as well with all the rain and cloudy days. Perked up at the end of summer with the mini drought in august. I am moving mine to a slope too to see if that helps to keep the crown drier.
Wow I missed the whole day! Lovely start Victor~ All the Iris a usual are beauties! Pretty Josephine, my MIL's name, I'll have to get one! Pretty colors on the wildflower and gerba! Snow in summer is way better!!
So lovely, Bill.
It feels like spring in here! But, it sure is cold out there.
Lovin all the great colors!
Pretty chives, Jen. Edible?
Thanks, WC. Love the fuzz on that.
Yep.
that is a nice bunch joann
I wish DD would thin them
BUT
Its not my garden. I say nuthin
Still love coming here every morning to see all these beautiful pics! An island of sanity in the sea of this insane winter season.
We have it far better than Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which has 22 for their high temperature today. So many of their long established plantings have been destroyed.
Love that beech tree Bill. Another nice viburnum there Victor. I love my chives too. Cut them all summer for chicken salad etc. and use them in soups. WC what is that cute fuzzy blue beauty? The s.iris are wonderful. They look really pretty with the daisies. Are those ox-eye daisies? Pirl that is a lovely combo of clems. Does the MB bloom for a long time for you? Yes it is awful for southern gardeners right now. I guess you just have to look at it as time for new plants, try to keep a positive outlook, but very difficult for them I'm sure.
Beauties everyone.
Pat - Multi Blue blooms for a few weeks and would probably do better with more sun but we have it there because that's where the trellis is and now I have a total of nine clematises there so by 2011 or 2012 it should be even nicer.
