Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

yeah for the caladiums!!!.. so glad to hear it Bill

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

The lilac link and hydrangea didn't load but I love the hosta and bee balm Bill!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

just tried them celeste and they work here - your the lilac queen so just copy and paste into your search engine - it is a rebloomer

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

worked here too.. just took a while to load

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I posted about Bloomerang a few weeks ago.

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

I just ordered a boatload of seed from Swallowtail last night. The Swan Island Dahlia catalog came, man am I in trouble, I saw so many I like!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

those pgs did take forever to load, nice looking

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Ok tried again and it worked, love the lilac, reblooming got me! The Hydrandgea says it takes a ZONE 3 YOUHOOO-D_NUT!

Bill, the DL, well you could get something the same color that reblooms for alot cheaper if it's red your looking for..

*'Red Rum' , *'Pardon Me' , 'Little Business' , *'Rosy Returns', 'Siloam Red Ruby', ' *'Roses in Snow '(though mine has yet to rebloom) 'Baja', Cranberry Baby', 'Crimson Red', * 'Rhinestone Kid' (more rose colored than red).

*Means I own them so they would be VERY cheap for you. LOL

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Celeste you're funny, any of those fragrant?

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Good question...not sure. Very few DL's have scent........Pandora's Box is the best IMHO, not red but lovely smelling as a clump. I think Pirl will agree with me on that.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

celeste i have not forgotten the burning bushes:) and i just checked and i do not have any of those you mentioned

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Some nice new goodies there for sure. I have the hydrangea ordered already. I hope it lives up to the hype, I am looking forward to a nice pink hydrangea. The lilac is very tempting as well and on the wish list for future needs. This would make a nice hedge wouldn't it. Hmmm.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

possible warning on the bloomerang lilac

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/979798/

i am familiar with both Hoosier and Snapple - they know there stuff.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

We live in the NE! Polly mentioned the pruning.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i'll wait for more feedback - Hoosier has never steered me wrong.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

A lot of lilacs do not do well with hot temps and humid conditions. I have gotten powdery mildew on my old fashioned lilac here some years as well. It will not be a bad thing to watch for local reviews.

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I didn't see Bloomerang as any worse than any other for mildew. I give my lilacs a spray in the spring just when they are leafing out, of baking soda and water in a hose sprayer. monarda too.

I don't think Bloomerang is as good a lilac as Josee. I think Josee is a better rebloomer. All of these rebloomer must be sheared four or five times a year to get them to rebloom. The first bloom isn't heavy, nor is the rebloom. It's a novelty to have the rebloom on the lilac, but you can get that with most of the 'tribrida' lilacs such as Minuet, and Larksong, or most of the littleaf lilacs, like Tinkerbelle.

In my opinion, Bloomerang is OK.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

was just about to place a small perennial order with Romance Garden and Greenhouse - the watchdog rating is good for them - although a $15 order cost $26 to ship - WOW - not placing that order.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Yeah, that's insane!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i sent them a message - curious to see the reply

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Keep us all informed

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wow that is pretty steep just coming from Michigan. Do they ship a greenhouse with the plants? LOL Is it a flat rate or something, if you purchase more does it stay the same?

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

well i got a response from the owner - a bit confusing and i've asked for clarification - it seems they double box each plant into a larger box that hold up to 4 smaller boxes - because the 2 plants i ordered are in different size boxes neither will fit into the other's box??not sure why the smaller box would not fit into the larger plants box that hold 4?

Anyway something is lost in the translation and i've asked nicely, did have to re-read and delete a few lines:), for a clearer explanation.

They do have great watch dog reviews

i have also priced this coming from oregon and the frieght is only $15, still can not justify spending same frieght as plant cost - haven't these guys seen the commercial's if it fits it ships for one flat rate?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Tell them to think outside the box.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

got another response and i called the owner - they use pre-sized boxes with holders for quart or gallon size plants - he is going to put the quart into the gallon box for me and drop the shipping charges by 50% - so i added another gallon plant - did not realize the campanula i was ording was in gallon containers - must be huge and the reason for good ratings

ordered sedum ternatum "Larinem Park" that someone visiting our forum had posted, Campanula punctata 'Plum Wine', Campanula x 'Sarastro' - need more ground cover!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I have Campanula Sarastro Its not a groundcover but an upright.I think it reseeds and spreads.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

nice campanula joann - sounds like the lunch included liquid refreshment?

just trying to kill two birds with one stone - i have campanula "wedding bells" which i may divorce from my yard that is spreading like mad - wanted something that will spread and stay controllable

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I have had spotty results with campanula.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

my spreader has only been in for 2 years and I have been told it seeds itself readily so I will try to controle it with weeding.
I just love how it meanders among the lilies and under the hostas.
We shall se how much I love it in 5 years.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

they say to dead head them to reduce the self seeding

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Oh I remember that sedum, pretty white star blooms. I have 'Cherry Bells' campanula that you have to keep on top of because it walks through the bed. Easy enough to pull out if not in another plants crown. I have a little pry tool to dislodge the little guys. Pretty flowers. Joann your two campanula are very pretty.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

that is the sedum pat - good memory

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

hmmmm

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Not a plant but pretty excited about it...........it's my turning 50 soon present. LOL
