Lucy, we get out with no problem. Snow'R'Us.
We're all cleaned out nice and pretty.
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 59
You guys get a whole lot of snow up there, heard on the radio it's been snowing 10 days straight in Buffalo. SIL llived in upstate NY, she moved to Hollywood Fla, -lives alone, couldn't deal with the snow amounts, (shame, she had a nice house up there).
Wow.
I don't know if I would be able to deal with it alone, either. We have a huge snowblower, and it's hard for me to navigate.
Oh Polly, so sorry!
Those are some big icicles!
Thanks, Pixie. I know you know how it feels.
Those icicles are what's left after the roof was cleaned off.
Strange to hear this morning that it is colder here today than in Anchorage, Alaska!!! What???!!! I thought that thermometer picture of 30 degrees looked pretty strange with the oranges on the tree to the right. LOL
My goodness, folks......y'all sure do have a lot of snow up there. I really won't be surprised if we see some here!
30 this morning and supposed to be colder tonight. I've covered all that I can. We're going to take the puppies out tomorrow to walk in a park and do some errands. It's for sure they won't get too hot waiting in the car!
oh please let the caladiums I ordered be ok!!!
I just got another camera lens in last week, it was so cold I had to wear gloves to handle it! - and it was packaged well too, in Styrofoam, w/cardboard, extra bubble insulation and another heavy cardboard box to boot, it was still about 15° to the touch, -'Ice cold'!
Oh gosh, Allison, I hadn't thought of that. In an email I got from Bill awhile ago he told me how many caladiums he was growing. it was a tremendous amount, I don't recall the number. We talked about our businesses, and he told me how he had expanded tremendously. But I see it's going down to 27 there, Lake Placid Fla. I will cross my fingers and pray for the best for him. Of course, they may be lifted and stored already, I don't know the process, but he said he had a huge storage facility. He seems such a nice guy.
could be bad if they get a hard freeze Polly
30 now going to 36.. last good day this week.. snow tomorrow & temps dropping after that
28 and clear. I've already had enough of the cold!
I'm getting used to it, lots of clothing to put on when I go out...
29°, windchill 24°, wind WNW 5mph, Sunny
I don't want to get used to it!
Oh hush...it could be worse! look at this..........I feel for these guys!!!

20 degrees here - feeling better will go out x-country later this morning.
polly my wife can't handle the snow blower either and it is only a 5 horse - she tried it a couple times and went in circles never changing where she threw the snow so she would blow it back where she had just gone - simply could not figure it out - or that's what she claimed - pretty sure i got suckered
Ha ha ha sucker.......
i actually prefer to do it - exercise and it gets done right
You sound like me. LOL
I'm with Victor, I want spring! I am itching to get out in the garden again.
It is sunny at least, 23 degrees and should just get above freezing today for a minute or two anyway. Early Jan. thaw would be nice, specially if it lasted through Feb. :)
The upper midwest is the worst part of the country for weather. Extremes in summer and winter and they get tornadoes. No thanks.
Hate the dryness of winter! The pellet stove really dries the air. I have a large - 2.5 gal humidifier going constantly and it barely makes a dent. What I am doing right now is running the hot tub with both sets of sliding doors open. I can feel it getting better.
My humidifier is directly attached to vent system, it adjusts depending on outside air temp, gets it's water from the pipes, I hated having to fill up those humidifiers, going back and forth with water... ugh!
That's convenient. You have forced air heat?
Yes, gas heat, saves me a bundle on oil!
I have gas too, but hot water baseboard.
Ahhh yes, I know those! I have to change the air filter on mine every now and then & the water dispersion grill on the humidifier once a year, but otherwise it's maintenance free and low cost. The cost of oil is too prohibitive nowadays, not good health-wise either...
Rarely use mine now. The pellet stove heats the entire house.
I always wanted a fireplace, ironically I had one in So. Cal that was real nice, but not here in NY where it's cold! lol! 29°
I love my fireplace! when we put the log cabin down back we'll put another fieldstone in, love the rocks, they stay warm for along time afterwards. The morning after using it i'll find the cat stretched out on the hearth because it's still warm. LOL
30° and waiting for the storm that's coming. They forcast it to start this afternoon.
Wow - above freezing!! 36.
Same here, 36 degrees and bright sunshine. Looking like only an inch or so from the coming "storm" tomorrow. It will bring in some colder air as the front goes by. Can't have everything, cold but at least sunny for six or seven days after tomorrow. Helps with my mood a lot.
Victor - sorry to hear you have gas! Tums???
Bill - you DID get suckered on the snowblower thing! I used to use ours on our skating pond and in the back yard to make trails for the dogs, and if I could do it, I'm pretty sure Cindy could do it! LOL
It's 30 here but SUNNY!!!!! Yesterday the sun cam out also, sometimes I AM glad when the weatherman is wrong. ^_^
36 degrees and sunny! Snow tomorrow...
