Ditto here Lynnie. 36° and damp.
Happy Boxing Day
Smiley, thats the story of my life! lol....Do any of you want to volunteer to clean my house? It looks like a truck ran through it. I dread to get started, shudder ran through me thinking about it. Grin...
I got some lovely fuzzy socks this year! And Dixie, the poo's will be happy to know I have a brand new bathrobe! First one i've owned years! *grin*
good coffee JJ, mmmmm....I slept past 8:30
You must have needed the sleep, Lynnie. You've been going like gangbusters for a while. I'd be lost without my robe..
Dixie, any fuzzy socks in your stocking? I have the last little get-together later on. DS's girls' mom & sister. I said "let's make it easy and order pizza". Sure works for me!
On Wednesday we're going to DH's sisters house. The last basket will be delivered then. Hope I wrapped everything up tight.
All have a good day, gotta straighten up around here.
I will get you a better picture if I go out to take porch decorations down otherwise that one from doorway will have to keep ya happy for now..LOL
Send the girls over they can make me a snowman.....
they would love to JJ! So would I!
yeah Smiley you're right, I sure needed that sleep! I went to the gym and worked off a few cookies too ;)
Have at it. BRRR to cold for me.
DH said those bugs (robots) woke him up...they aren't half as loud as the vacuum sweeper...
oh I've been meaning to ask you, do you love them?? I can't let mine run till I get the stuff picked up off the floor, we don't take anything down till New Year's.
I think I will. The one is a 400 series and smaller but seems to work well.( that was the free one) The 530 is bigger and more powerful I have only used it once, but seems to work well.
Now that I have everything picked up and the floors sealed again I think they will work better.
This Minwax Revive I bought worked really well. ( my floors need a new coat of polyurethane)
My tree serves one purpose a place for presents...no more presents no more tree. It goes up day after Thanksgiving comes down day after Christmas or sometimes Christmas night. I have had enough of it by then. But I have no little ones at home anymore either.
even before I had kids I left my tree up till New Year's. I don't put it up till the second week in December though.
my living room/kitchen floors need refinishing badly. the eat-in part of the kitchen and the living room are open to each other, one wood floor. The cooking part of the kitchen is tile, the whole kitchen area is dated & needs redone....not doing it for a few years though.
Maybe if I didn't put it up so early, I would. but have always put it up at the latest the weekend after Thanksgiving.
That hardwood floor reviver stuff worked really well, they were all dull and are scratched from the dog and GS's toys. Nice and shiney now and goes on like a wax. Worse part was staying off it for at least two hours for it to dry. I think it was dry before that but waited anyway.
I don't know if you can tell the difference in the pictures or not.
This is before
Sometimes that stuff has to set up. We used to make one where I work, I miss it. It was good stuff.
those are beautiful floors, but yes a definite difference after the reviver. I could do it when the kids are in school.
That's a nice floor, JJ. I have floor envy. Nice pattern.
Thanks guys.
It was really easy Lynnie just clean the floors first and then apply like a wax. It said use a paint pad but I used an old clothe diaper on my hands and knees.
Getting all the dog hair up was the big chore, she wasn't happy to get locked in a different room all day.
I found it at menards everyone else only had those clean and wax products and I hate those, they have to much wax residue build up.
we don't have menard's, what's the floor reviver called?
I bought a lambs wool mop specifically for the reviver. That works well and saves your knees. I just rinse it out when I'm done.
Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good sunday.
Can't comment on floor reviver,as we've no wooden floors, only carpets and in kitchen/dining room, tiles. However, like the look of the wooden floor JJ.
Also,I can see from your earlier photo, you've a lot of snow on the ground. It's thawed a bit here, but then frozen again today,so very slippery and forecast a hard frost for tonight, only 21f.
Moon,I love your photo of Tooter,I've shown it to Theodore:}Hope you soon feel better.
Venice,it sounds as though your health's not improving, best idea's to visit Dr as soon as possible.Take care.
Had a good walk with big son Sam today, and we both managed to remain standing.
Both boys are being collected by their Dad tomorrow early evening,to stay at his house until Wed evening,so it'll seem very quiet here for a while. When they come back,Will, younger one's asked me to go shopping with him as he has some money received for Christmas from my parents and he'd like to choose something to buy for himself.
Nearly 8.30 now, think I'll see what DH's watching on TV,probably nothing I want to watch:},but I've a good book to read ,so never mind.
Hope you all have a good evening
I'll be back tomorrow
Joy
Thanks Joy glad you had a good walk. Yes I have a lot of snow and its still coming down but very lightly.
Smiley that sounds like a good idea, will have to look into one of those if I have to do it again. It says should last 3 to 6 months. We shall see.
Lynne its called Minwax Hardwood floor Reviver. It comes in high gloss or low gloss. I got the high gloss.
Here is pic of the bottle

Good Afternoon, Y'all. Sunny and 50's here.....chilly winds but bright. I agree, Smiley, unless you are super hydrated nyquil and that sort can make you feel worse. Hey Lynnie, Hi Joy. JJ the floor looks great. Am back to being able to breath thru my nose again.....grin. Power of positive thinking.
OOPs sorry thought I straightened it out.
Joys DH must have taken picture for me. LOL
Thanks Moon
Glad you are getting better.
I could use some 50's would settle for 33°
Get out your fuzzy socks and wait for sunshine.....I am so sorry it is so cold for you all.Certainly much less congested and no headache....instant improvement....grin
Fuzzy socks are out and on....Sunshine is avoiding me LOL
Good old Illinois December weather...DH should get me a place on a warm beach for the winter. Putting that on next years list...
Think I'll go find a book and a blanket for awhile.
Catch you later.
Enjoy dear....have a cup of cocoa to help you relax....grin
Glad you can breathe Moon! Hope the worst is over. JJ's your floor looks beautiful. Wish you would come on over and do ours. Invitation is always open. Grin...I have cleaned and cleaned pretty much all day. Hi Smiley,Lynnie, and Joy. Lynnie I got a pair of fuzzy socks! Now I have 3 pair all together. Am building fuzzy sock collection. We can all go slide on JJ's floor! Where in the heck is Flowers? Probably up to mischief where ever she is. Grin...Here's an up dated picture of Lester.....before I send him in orbit. LOL..
Yall need to get off the couch and come play! Grin.....YOOOO,HOOOOO!!
Hi all! I am starting to feel not as bad. I had an ear ache today and Lynnie told me to put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in my ear. I must have caught it right away because it doesn't hurt as much now, just a little clogged. My ribs are sore from coughing and blowing my nose! And every once and a while I can breathe through one side of my nose. I just have accept the fact that I am wheezing when I lay down to go to sleep. I will still call the doctor tomorrow for sure. Guess I won't be baking for a while.
Moon, glad to hear that you are feeling better.
We have been having snow yesterday and today. It has been really fine and only a few inches in accumulation.
JJ, you have gorgeous floors! Are all your floors in such beautiful patterns? How old is your house. I don't think many floors like that are made now. Can you take a photo of the edges of your floor? Or photos of any other of your floors that have such nice patterns.
Moon, your Christmas coat is lovely! The handwork on it is so precise. And just what is the Celtic Book of Kells? I once had an inexpensive jacket of boiled wool and always enjoyed it. But it certainly was not lined in silk! Seems to me that peacoats in the war were made from boiled wool because they were lighter weight and warm. Was it custom made for you?
Dixie, I wish we could hear Lester crow. What time of the morning does he crow? Or does he crow during the day?
I can't believe how quickly some of you girls clear-up from Christmas. Now what are you going to do? No shopping to do, no decorations to put up, no presents to wrap, and no serious baking.
Hope you are all having a nice evening!
Hi V. Glad you can breath out of one side of your nose. Wheezing isnt good though. I think you should go on and see your doctor. Sorry your sick. Lester crows right around day break. All though a day or so ago he crowed a couple of times during the day. He thinks he's all that and then some. Grin...He's a sneakie thing...will slip up on me the dog,who evers in his path and will peck them.
Lester does look cocky, for sure.
Glad you're feeling a bit better Venice, don't over do it!
every single everything in my house needs to be cleaned...ugh. I usually do a big clean out before the holidays, never had time this year.
oh my gosh, I never opened my stocking stuffers! I'm going to do that now!
Oh Lynnie, I for got to tell ya,so glad to hear about the new bath robe! I know you'll be a lot warmer while on the prowl. Poo's will be on alert. LOL..
Lynnie,I know how ya feel. I finally got mine clean. Thought I never woul get done. It was a disaster. I'm tired!
yoo hoo! knock! knock! Anyone home?
Moon, glad you can breathe out your nose now, that's so annoying. Sorry you can't, Venice. Pardon tany typo's, I have a jack on my lap.
Now that you ladies are done cleaning, anyone want to come over here? It's not too bad, it has 'the illusion of clean'...
I only cleaned enough to see the counters & floors haha
What was in your stocking, Lynnie?
Ds's girl collects owls. I gave her an owl figurine that was my grandmothers. Even if they don't work out, they've been dating for almost 4 years now, and she is his first love, so I felt good about giving it to her. She cried.
That was a 'besides' gift ~ not her real gift.
