Boss speakers for Kyle and Jeff for ipods..not sure they are needed but they sure smilled when they got the boxes..
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends
LindaKay and Barb, Melanie DIL just started sewing a few years ago, she made jammies for all but also made everyone a velcro crazy bandana lined with fleece so that it can be used for downhill skiing or sledding...
You might want the pattern..even for outside to stop the direct wind..made with 1/2 of a bandana
At one time you gave a wallet and you put a penny in it for good luck..Kyle showing me his new wallet and $100. bill..kids these days have more money than parents do...
So that was a bit of my morning...better go watch the turkey doesn't burn and the cranberries sticking to the pot...be back later...
Yawning, going for a hot bath....Greg/Mel and the boys just left to visit Melanie's mom and dad..Jeff left about 1 1/2 hrs. ago, he's not sure if he'll pick up his boys tonight and head back here or wait until the morning...he did want to come back tonight but think was he sees his couch that will be it for tonight...
I'm so hoping you've all enjoyed your Christmas..that you've been either with family or friends or both..know you are all precious and mean a lot to me...
See I'm the only one posting of my day, but that's ok, just wanting you to share in it...
Before I leave I'll show you the lovely gift Kyle made me in shop..it's a shephard's hook that has a ground insert..will hold a potted plant and below is a stainless steel welcome sign...I was thrilled to death knowing that Kyle, in his 4 weeks of shop thought of me and made me this garden art...
Family sing song...well I received fantastic gifts, spoilt as usual..will show you some tomorrow but for now it's a hot bath, a cat nap because Sophie, Greg's dog is visiting grandma and then Jeff just might get here around 11:00 with the boys and we'll have yet another Christmas gift opening...
Sure hope you share photo's and/or description of your Christmas day...
Betty just want to be the first to say Thank you for all the joy and good cheer and hard work you have shared with others this Holiday season. I have enjoyed all the posts and pictures from you and others and the crafts were magnificent. You deserve that hot bath and a few days of rest now, just know you are appreciated! Nice sheppard hook, GS did great. GBY and everyone else here. Merry Christmas! Karen
we had a great meal, darling hubby fixed....we exchanged a few gifts...and just spent time together.....it was lovely
Thank you Betty for sharing with us....loved the Helmet Hats, those are adorable!
Had a long day.....gifts with our family here at moms...Quick run to Bill's mom's for gift exchange....back home to start cooking...we had a great meal. All are stuffed and tired, sitting around the fire with our favorite drinks watching the new Harry Potter that Sage got as one of her many Christmas gifts. We are a tired but happy group.
Hoping you all had a wonderful Christmas.
Sleep well this Christmas night.
Now Barefoot, there is a precious miracle gift..adorable...although a perfect Christmas here, a baby in the house would have been wonderful, especially a little girl..lol..I still might get lucky before my days are over and get a great-grandaughter...all boys here...
It's early morning, I've a coffee in hand, Greg and family have just left, Jeff and family now in bed and I'm taking 5 to take in the day...my time to remember Christmas' s gone by...
Was a long day for Jeff to be with me Christmas eve and morning, then travel to the city to pick up the boys, but what a blessing that he did...
The cel phones were a hit...lol
Good night Betty. Glad you all had such a wonderful Christmas! Looks like a Happy Bunch.
Ahhh for tomorrow....a Happy Recovery Day.
Trisha...I'll be Sage is flying high as well with all her goodies...
Tubby, hope you and Shirley have enjoyed your Christmas...
Nothing like have wii games going, ipods, telephone ringing (boys all texting each other) stereo that Braedon got going to tunes and laughter...
As you can see I've had a glorious day..I thank the Lord for all he's given me and my family..we've been blessed ..
But what we are all most grateful for is friendship from both family and friends..
I thank you for being here all year, for keeping me company, for listening to my antics ... you too are part of my family, my dg family...
It's time to go Betty bys.
Good Lord willing, well talk tomorrow..
Best...the most beautiful of Christmas days..
Worse..absolutely NO worse other than a few tears that fell silently and unseen to know that all Roger has missed , seeing grandchildren, seeing what wonderful fathers his sons are but mostly for how they have looked after their mom...guess he's with us in spirit if not in person....
What did I learn...not really learn, but re-affirmed, that it's not the gifts it's the being together...
God bless your families...
you are up late as well Trisha...
Hugs to you dear friend...going to get some sewing project patterns and instructions together for you all next week..still not sure if I'm going travelling or not..most of my gifts were $$$ or gift cards for Home Depot...
Kids said they know if I travel I want $$$ and if I stay home I'll want $$$ and gift cards to take on a special project..smart kids...lol..taught them well..
Wow, my adrenaline is just pumping, going to try and sleep..with Bernie's good news and my Christmas with family I'm just overwhelmed by it all...
Tomorrow comes cleaning..yuk...
Oh yes, did get the cd cabinets done, kids laughing, finish coat still wet..lol..that's their mom..
Will show you a photo tomorrow..
Been up since 6am..almost finished cleaning up packaging debris, 2 loads of wash and enjoying my coffee...
Soon the family will be rising, looking for Boxing Day breakfast and anxious to play with all they've received for Christmas...
Jeff was exhausted last night, he's on the couch didn't even make it to bed so I'm downstairs cleaning..wow, when they leave do I have cleaning to do in my craft room...can't believe just how much mess this little old gal can make...lol..
Wanted to show you end product of the cd cabinets..on the upper front, the golf ball is not painted but screwed in to be 3d... they loved them..
Looking forward to the day..Greg and I are teasing Jeff..as part of the boys gifts is a trip to Jamaica, last year I believe it was Bahama's so we're saying he really needs a 'nanny' to go with them, who better than a 'grandma'...don't think he's falling for it though..says it's his time away with the boys for bonding and grandma has her week she takes them all away...
Don't you love it when all are laughing, teasing each other..showing family closeness....
Just sitting down looking at the work of art Kyle made me..I'm overly thrilled...
look forward to gabbing with you all today..I would imagine you are all exhausted, tucked into bed getting some much deserved rest..
Judy, you be careful in your travels...
We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at my daughter's house. It was wonderful... We have about a foot of standing snow now. It melts a little on one day and flurries to fill back up the next. It is so cold here that it will be like this now until next spring unless we get a major thaw. Right now temps are around freezing for the weekend but down to 20*-25* for next week!!! So I don't see much melting...
But the snow was perfect for Christmas Eve though. We all huddled around a wonderful roaring fire in the firepit and sang carols and watched the little ones sledding. It was such fun. Everyone's gift to each other were mostly handmade and were simple treasures given with love. My darling Sean found the sweetest heart plaque that says "Grandma - where you are there is love" He picked it out and bought it all himself and you know I just melted. All the family loved the "Do you see" project he made and he was so proud.
We all had a wonderful day...
Hope everyone's Christmas has been blessed too.
Sounds like everyone so far had a wonderful Christmas!
Betty I am so happy Bernie got to settle his insurance claim! A great Christmas present indeed!!
Look at all of you boys having a ball with all of those presents! I remember when I was a kid my family used to do the same thing at Christmas, but since grandparents are gone, dad's sister is gone, we've all moved out of CA and gone our separate ways, we don't have the big gatherings anymore. Oh well.
Let's see, we got a $50.00 gift certificate from my mom and Lynn to Olive Garden, $20.00 gift certificate to Chili's from Dave's childhood friend Greg and his wife, I got Dave a trailer ramp kit, he got me a Burr Coffee Grinder, and I bought us a kit for the Wii that has the steering wheel, tennis racket, golf club, and baseball bat, plus a NASCAR Cart racing game. We still haven't received our gifts from my dad and his girlfriend, not sure what's going on with that because they mailed them from Joplin Missouri 9 days ago and it only takes 3 days to get mail back and forth, but Dad said he's going to go to the PO today (It'll be Monday) and see what's going on.
Yesterday we went to Dave's Aunt Eller's house, sat and watched TV and had some good laughs. Dave's dad and step-mom heater went out in their house (they just live 2 blocks from Eller,) so Dave's step-mom was at Eller's and his dad went to work. We stayed there for probably 3 hours then came back home. Every time I go over there I feel like I'm entering a whole new demention of the world LOL
Looook what I got done yesterday!
You did well Crissy...sounds as though you made out like a bandit as well..
Just got back from Walmart and Home Depot, quick trip in, might go back to Canadian Tire later this evening...
Bought 5 totes, needed more to put Christmas decorations in..my soap dispenser broke in the kitchen so bought a replacement..
At Walmart my grand total after purchasing jeans was $83.52..remembered the girls the other day gave me a Walmart gift card..I thought most likely it would have been $25.00 but lordy gave them my card and only owed $3.52..they were far too generous...
Looked at washroom counter tops and zincs..there was a one piece unit for $399.00 and I loved it but it's 6" too wide...sooo going to call Bernie, see if I did purchase this unit and a set of taps if on the side of the washroom vanity is he could build something 6" to compensate for the length..if he can, back to Home Depot I go...I'm hoping sometime this week he can come over for the day and install..so that means everything I need has to be here....
Oh Barb, that darling sign sounds adorable...after seeing how excited Kyle was to give me the gift he made I can just imagine how thrilled Sean was that his gift was so appreciated....
The boys bought me a grandma gift..it's a lady bear, dressed with pearls and hat..and she sings a song about a prayer being said everyday for me and an angel watching over me..just toooo cute!
I am so glad you had a great Christmas. Weren't most of you buried in snow from those big mid West and East snow blizzards that stranded all the planes?
Mine was good, had all the family here this year, they all came. I was happy despite the lack of job and money. I pre-planned it and it all was great.
I am trying to find the threads that Betty made her cement step stone leaves, but I can't find them. I know it was in several different threads but I don't know how to find them. Do you have the thread numbers?
I woke up to a surprise of dog diarhea all over the house, from my new dog that apparently does not palet the Christmas dinner scraps we gave her well. Yippie! you know what my day will be like today and what I will be doing.
Late Merry Christmas.
Dawn....I'm going to give you instructions..not sure which threads they were on..family will be leaving later today so tomorrow morning I'll have all day to myself and will get you the info...so glad all the family came over, any photo's of those two little angels? Hi to Greg..you both are often in my thoughts...
No snow here, infact eldest son Greg is not happy, rained yesterday and today so far however, I see it's getting colder and turning from rain to light snow...
Imagine, while all are enjoying playing with their games/toys/reading/resting and yes SLEEPING, I'm putting away dozens of totes holding Christmas decorations...
Figure it's mild out, and once the snow is here and 4' deep I'll not get to back shed to store the totes, soooo today is the day!
Before they all leave I'll have them burn all the debris, bring the totest to the back shed for me...fowl odor coming from refrigerator, wondering if milk had been spilt and it's soured..so a must to clean today..
Jeff put in the soap dispenser unit that I purchased to replace the broken one, he was fidgiting under the kitchen counter, I simply said, 'got to clean these cupboards this week' didn't take him long to say 'do you think?' of course you can't be working in santa's workshop for a few months and keep cupboards tidy..poor pity their wives, much too neat for me..lol..
Sooo much food and what do the boys want for a snack..grilled cheese..Jeff he's addicted to Tim Hortons coffee so I'm in h is good books, stopped for timmy coffee and donuts on my way from town....
Won't be long I'll be calling it a day, just sit and rest if that's possible..Ann just called and said she'd be over in a bit to visit so that might encourage me to stop cleaning...
I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
Thank you Laura...hope you've had the same...
evening all hope you all had a nice christmas.
betty looks like you made out like a bandit.
oh yaaay judy just got to deborahs in georgia
lol i always go on her road trips with her, thank god for unlimited texting!!!!
Liz!! I've missed you!!
Me and Dave are going out tonight, haven't been out since Halloween and just found out that a good friend, the only friend I have lol, has started working at Applebee's, so will get hot wings for appetizers and who knows what else! LOL
I love texting, the way of the world and a great way to communicate. Don't have to be on the phone and you don't have to be in a hurry to respond. Keep us posted on her trip Liz!
Morning all,
Took quite a bit to unwind enough to have a good nights rest but I managed...
Old habits die hard, up and at it even though I can just relax today..did I say relax?
Waiting for daylight so all the totes can be taken off back deck and put into storage shed...only the basement tree remains and that will be taken down this morning..omg does the house look large when all the Christmas decorations are put away...
My goal IF I don't go anywhere this week is to clean every closet in the house and re-organize my craft area...throw out what is junk or what I'll not use..if I can accomplish that I'll be thrilled...
Have a call into Bernie to see if he can change the vanity design a bit so I can add 6 inches to have a molded zinc countertop..am hoping..he might be back home today so will try again..
Crissy hope you've enjoyed Appleby's..there is one in Barrie now, I so enjoy their food...
Liz, thanks for the Judy update, am sure she and Deborah are enjoying themselves..how about you, did you and grannie and family get together...hugs for that hubby of yours...lol
Shirley, how are you and Tubby doing?
Debbie, update please on the family..great time to cross the border for a day or two..come play...
Well, go let Sailor back in and wait for daylight...

Hey Betty, looks like you had a wonderful Christmas! We did too! But sounds like your putting your decorations early? We keep ours up till New years then they come down! Not much this year, just the tree out on the back patio, and a few on a shelf inside. We took Christmas to the Grandsons in San Antonio, and now we are waiting for a 2nd one with my Granddaughter. She will be here Wed, and stay till Saturday.
Good morning to everyone else, hopeing you all have a great day!
LK
Taking a break, yep, trash burnt, all but 2 totes left to carry to back shed and all are away...
Thought while I still had energy I'd get it done, still not sure if I'm going SOMEWHERE, where? who knows..still waiting for mom to decide so putting everything away now would mean not having to do so when I get back and maybe short of time..as well, if I stay home I can play at finishing my afghan which is 1/2 done, quilt blocks for Dec.Jan.Feb. and get a few kits out for the thread catcher and just enjoy...
Here I've had all the boxes ready to go out, all were sitting at downstairs back entrance..the closet also holds the hot water heater and under stairs, more storage...because the basement is only 3/4 done and I'm just now doing the doors, I'm looking at that plastic folding door thinking that I did put the 3 mirror closet doors upstairs in all on my own, JUST maybe after all the decorations are done I might go into Home Depot and see if they have the proper size and put it in and trim..now wouldn't that be another corner completed...
My downfall is if I JUST sit, I feel as though I'm wasting the last of my days..isn't that an awful way to think? at this age, doubt I will...
So we'll see what happens...
It's nice Linda Kay that your family are visiting at different times, you can enjoy them more than trying to do it all at once...
How have you been feeling? getting around ok..don't overdo..
Good grief....don't ask

Wow Debbie, you must be worried sick!!
Summer is good, we can enjoy the gardens and play and not worry about snow storm..
Ann was here visiting, mom called, said I'd call her back..
There was a 2x4 that I had anchored on the door close for back deck so there is not shovelling during winter time, so this morning when putting all the totes out to back shed I stood it up, anchored it for easy access in/out...well Ann just left, hit it with her elbow and it hit me full force in the head...headache galore..called mom back, wants to know when we can go away, told her I'd call tomorrow, need to put my head down...not funny I'll tell you..seeing stars and it's not even night time...
So Debbie, think mid week I'll be in your neck of the wood..treat you to breakfast at CrackerBarrel if I am....
Betty, thank you...but not this time. I am swamped the next few weeks. Between various doctors and physical therapy.....I just can't do it. Thanks for the offer though.
Debbie am saying prayers for you all. Bet you can't wait for better weather either. Take care and Betty you be careful. BEV
debbie, omg sending prayers to you
judy safe and sound in florida
