Offical Muffler Sulking Section etc part 3

Lodi, United States

They closed our local Michaels. But I have found two very nice yarn shops close by...and we have Joanne's for the other stuff....

I must confess that I do, on occasion, go into Walmart....but I never feel good about it.

Ours doesn't do food....but I can see how those on a limited income might need to purchase things there in general. It is sad....I keep thinking that all the petrochemicals that go into the heaps of unnecessary plastic things in the aisle would probably fuel civilization for another thousand years.....

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

i try to only buy flour, sugar.... staples of a sort... & veggies. we eat very little prepackaged, boxed or wrapped & I refuse to eat walmart meat. so i go to the meat market or Food 4 less for meat.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Happy First Day of Spring ^_^ Hoping your season is eggful and yarn abundant and may you have perpetual happy feet! I'm going outside to dance soon as the sun peaks out. Tis lightish over the mountains so soon. Crappola I forgot to bring the giant bow that I like to wear on my head for festive occassions such as these :(

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Dahlia dear Hope you ware a shirt that says Canada on it when you go out side to dance. Or maybe a shirt with "nut" on it. Some areas of the states will seen the little men in the white coats and the butterfly nets if they see you dancing out in this weather.

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

dahlianut... are you always this chirpy this early?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Chirp ^_^

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

lol cute

my cats even look pained by the birdies singing... They are glaring at me.. or is that bc its barely daylight, freezing cold & I'm awake... (not bc i wanna be tho, doctors seem to think appointments need to be just after daylight)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

ARGH! Got busted trying to sneak out in my jammies. Plan B. "Going down to the lobby to pick up juice and croissants"

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Excellent planning Dahlianut. Keep it up!

Happy Winter Solstice to one and all. May Mother Earth keep you warm in her arms, and may you have an abundant and joyful year ahead.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

How luvly. Apparently it is ok to dance in the desert on solstice cuz a man came out and waved to me ^_^ Footwear was a good idea cuz there were sprinklings of little paddleleafish cactii on the dancefloor. I even remembered to pick up bagels on my way back.

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

Chirp right back atcha, Dahlia! I'm a morning person too; used to drive college roommates nuts (hmmmm.... there's that word!) YES! The 21st! We have come to the bottom of the slough of despond and will hence be climbing upward and sunward! Last year, just for fun, I started saving the data on sunrise and sunset, plus hours of daylight. We had 9.39 hours of daylight on the 20th through the 23rd, and then it upped to 9.40 on the 24th, but interestingly enough sunrise was a little later for quite a few days before becoming earlier again!

Here, for your edification:

2008
12/20 Sunrise 7:16 sunset 4:39 9.39 hours of daylight
12/21 Sunrise 7:16 sunset 4:39 9.39 hours of daylight
12/22 Sunrise 7:17 sunset 4:40 9.39 hours of daylight

Moxon, you are forgiven for patronizing WalMart on that inauspicious occasion, and what is it about the French, or maybe more fairly, what is it about boyfriends? One wonders - one really does.

Slough of Despond...ain't that just it though!!!

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Greenhouse Gal! Excellent record keeping. Well, we shall have to keep this in mind for projects requiring the careful keeping of records. Such dedication you have shown!

(p.s. He was French too, so your first question remains legitimate)

I wish I was dancing with Dahlianut in the desert rather than sitting at work looking out at the snowfulness.

Clarkson, KY

If you'd like to have some of our greyfulness...

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Methinks a people with such brilliant scribing and accountaging talents is a tres important person to know. I am awed.

Clarkson, KY

It is rather thrilling to be in the virtual presence of such greatness, is it not??

Southern NJ, United States(Zone 7a)

What was required with this stellar bit of recording keeping was simply cutting and pasting each line from that day's Wx report, Wx being the Mac weather application which I keep handily on my desktop to inform me of what my tomorrows will be like, and sometimes even my todays. Hardly Nobel-prize-worthy science, my knitting and purling friends. But I'd always wondered how that daylight expansion really worked out and it was fun to have it all down in b&w to peruse in my spare moments.

Moxon, the French have a totally different notion of fidelity in relationships than we do, from everything I've read. Look at Mitterand and his daughter Mazarine. That was quite accepted. And they thought we were passing strange to care about Clinton and the blue dress.

Joplin, MO(Zone 6b)

I'm a morning person... when i've had sleep to begin with.. been a bit deprived of sleep for a few days. I'm also a night owl.. :) people really love it when ur chirpy at 1 am.

Kingman, AZ(Zone 7a)

Oh more sun would be much needed. We get home close to dark, and today got a suprise... Mr Ronnie the handyman caught me at the store and let me know the chickens had been fed and watered, he added water to the duck pond, and was wondering what to feed them... I was happy. Then he followed me and Billy home where he proceeded to help feed and water the horses (according to him, just in case I got home after dark and well heven forbid the horses eat in the dark) LOLOL I welcome more sun...

snowing here

Oh taynors, that's awful!! I had food poisoning once, and that was once too many times.

Have all the sulkers that were sulking about NWDs gotten one, or have one in progress by another enabler? I got GreyKyttyn's mailed yesterday so I am able to do another; I have an hour commute in the morning and afternoon so get a lot of knitting or reading done.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

I don't know I have a long white a lavender one and working on another. But will have to wait till after Christmas to be able to mail anyone one.

Clarkson, KY

No. Sure they haven't...wherever the sulking queue thread is...Beth and Doe and somebody and somebody...and of course I'm dreadfully behind hand...

Portland, OR(Zone 8b)

I know, there are too many posts to backtrack on and find out who's still sulking....LOL!!!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)
