Daily Pics #266

Fredericksburg, VA(Zone 7a)

I don't have any bird photos to share of late. I am waiting for the little birds to find the food we have put out for them on our balcony for the first time (as far as feeding winter birds). I cleaned out the planter boxes and put a layer of seed on top... so far, no takers!

I have loved everyone's photos so far! Great job to all!

Burd.... excellent choice on the camera! The T1i is what I have... and I have the 55-250mm lens too! I love mine so far! With 15MP, you have enough room to play with for cropping your photos and bringing them in tight. I really want the 100-400mm zoom lens next! Maybe by next summer!

Hack... do you use the Tamron TCs with a Canon DSLR? I have been thinking about one of these too, but I have read mixed reviews.

This goes back to November... on my second trip to Chincoteague.

VA_Wild_Rose - yes, I have Tamrons, a 1.4 and a 2x. However, I didn't have them the afternoon I snapped the Turkey pics.

I find that the 1.4x is more successful than the 2x. I've only had the 2x a short time and not had a sunny day to try it. Sunny days are recommended, or else you'll have to manually focus.

The 1.4x auto focuses pretty well. But, like I said the key is having enough light to work it. On a sunny day the 1.4x is good. I've yet to have a sunny day with the 2x. But with manual focus, the 2x does alright.
