Thought for the Day #5

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Where is DP? Did he survive the rain? Where is everyone else? I'm lonely, and there is no one to play with! Sniffle. : - (

Sorry I've been away for a while. My house got flooded during the recent rains. I've been busy trying to get things dried out. Still haven't gotten it all dry, but I'm a lot closer.

"Be careful what you pray for"

(i prayed for rain)

So sorry to hear that, DP! My heart goes out to you and the others who've had loses.

Darn it kwan, I was going to use that one today! Ditto what you said!
DP, I was wondering if the arroyo behind your house (the one you ran up to save Fido), had been giving you grief. Figured if you didn't check in today, I was going to call your cell phone and make sure you didn't end up stuck in the Pacific. You have my sympathy, my house is fine, only the gh got flooded. Well, my pillow was kind of wet, but other than that the house was dry.
I prayed for rain too, but I prayed for nice gentle soaking rains, especially in those burn areas.
Dale, I love your sense of humor. Keep 'em coming! Love the photos too! I have a lot of the same succulents that you do, but not displayed as nicely. LOL!
Now I have to go find another good quote for the day. : - )

SW, that is how I feel every morning until I have walked around for at least an hour. Or should I say crawled around until all the joints gets their oil. You are most welcome to use because my sister sent it to me and I have no idea where it came from. Love you SW and all the wonderful gardeners in California. You guys will love Dalethegardener. He is very talented.

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

He makes us laugh, we're keeping Dale. Where is Eureka? Up near the Sierra's?
Thanks if you are the little birdie who steered him to our crazy, but fun and silly thread, Sharon.
I feel that way until I've had my hot choc, then I am just not holding the cup. LOL!
DP is missed. : - (
In the meantime I am enjoying the photos and the quotes from Dale, and kwan the quote thief, LOL! How can you steal a quote! kwan we just think a lot alike. But you have a better memory for movie lines.

What's Dale the G doing in Eureka? Is this a permanent move? Come to join us on the Left Coast?

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

I knew I'd crossed paths with him before! LOL! Now I know where!

Dale is the expert on Coleus and very much missed on that forum.

The move to Eureka (on the NW Coast of CA) is temporary. Nice town, but, very depressed economy. I will be back to Florida in the next week or so.

SW: If the wash behind my house ever becomes a threat, we're all in trouble. It's at least thirty feet deep. All's dry at my house now. It looks like the rain will go south of us today. (for the most part anyway) They need it there as well.

Maybe I can get back to "normal" around here as well.

DP, I'm glad about the arroyo, but your thought is depressing me. : - )
Probably not kwan. Still giggling over that one.

Okay, I found some quotes, and now your gonna get a couple.

Ooooo! I like that one.

(Zone 7a)

The first one, I meant! LOL You're fast, SW!

Menifee, CA(Zone 9a)

Can type almost as fast as I can think, definitely as fast as I can read, as long as it's legible.
Why is it that you can't ever read what your Dr. writes out by hand? They have the worst spelling too.
Got to stop for awhile. I'm typing backwards again. You went and made me think about it. Not a good thing! LOL!

Just found this one, and know you'll like it.

More Beer thoughts:

One night at Cheers, Cliff Calvin explained the" Buffalo Theory" to
his buddy Norm:

"Well, ya see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move
as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is
the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This
natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the
general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the
regular killing of the weakest members! ; In much the same way, the
human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells.
Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But
naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In
this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain
cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine! That's
why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

I just spit water all over my 'puter screen! ROTFLOL
