ONLY A FORTNIGHT TIL SANTA'S RIDE

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Dixie, I was going to pot those begonia starts you gave me because they have a lot of roots on them now. But I forgot to bring in my potting soil and it is hard as a rock!!! Guess I will wait a while to pot them. There are plenty of roots on them but they are so thin and fragile looking. I guess that is ok.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Venice, don't wait too long, some plants start to lose their starter roots when left in water. If ya can, drag the container inside on some newspaper and let it thaw...the water roots get more fragile as they age.

(Zone 5b)

ok Sophia and I are off to the races, I'll try to catch up later!

Trina fill us in!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Just make believe you are Meg Ryan...one of the true cuties of Hollywood...not too far from the truth...grin

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, I have about 2 gallons of that potting soil left in a bag. It was wet to begin with. Can I put it in the oven to defrost and dry?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Yes you can Venice, or you can just let it sit inside overnight and then dry what you need tomorrow.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

I took it out of the bag and put it in a waste paper basket so it will have some air cirulation. You know, there is a smell to the cactus soil.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Wet dirt stinks...grin Putting it in the basket will help....you could set it in the bath room so it doesn't bother you.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

It is not the potting soil that smells. It is the cactus soil that I just opened which has been inside that smells.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Moon, another question. Since Jim was putting crushed pop cans in the bottom of his pots instead of rocks or broken pots, I have been putting crunched up aluminum foil in the bottom of pots, except for the large ones. Is that ok? I haven't washed those clay pots yet.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Where forth art tho my Gypsi buddies? I'm calling 1-800 get here now!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

That is just fine Venice. It would compact if you used it in big pots, but smaller ones are just fine.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Hey Moon whats up??

Jesup, GA

Hello every one.....hope all are safe and happy and warm this eve. We know Flowers is after that load of beans she ate! LOL....She's probably not having to use heat at her house. Moon I read what you said about Greens and beans.Grin...Thats a very scary mix. If yall see any comets,it's really Flowers!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hey Flowers...heard ya calling...grin

Venice I don't know why it smells. Does it smell sour? like it might be decomposing? probably not a problem....It may just be the way it smells in a closed space.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Just trying to be festive my dear and fly with the rest of you lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Oh I thought you were talking about me Moon ROFL

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Not much flowers, DH is making Hamburgers for supper, so I am just hanging out.

Hey Dixie, ya saying we may see shooting Flowers instead of stars? Grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Thats too funny, Hey Dixie Poo, How was your day?

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

No Hon....Venice's cactus potting mix....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Moon Dixie was talking about my eating beans and you keyed up with response to Venice's question and I thought you were talking about me. Go back and read, that is too funny!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

not yet but have a feeling the dog will be picking up her bed and moving out of the bedroom tonight lol

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I know, and already tried to explain...I can just see us all in a room together...everyone talking at once and everyone getting confused...lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

confused???? Whos confused??? Or Whos on first??? If Whos on first then whos on second? No Whos on first

Jesup, GA

LOL ...Flowers...Poor little doggie. Venice I'm sure the begonia will be fine until you can plant it. I'm glad it made some good roots. It should get pretty after you put it in soil.

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

You are probably right. I have never opened a bag of soil inside the house. But it does smell just a little sour.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

What's on second...I don't know

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Dixie is in outfield lol

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Wheres JJ??? Wonder if she got tangled in snow and lights and reindeer?

Jesup, GA

Venice, the rooster looks a lot like Lester. He will probably look a lot like that when he matures a little more.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Maybe she can post her decorations on the new thread that just popped up where every one is posting decoration pictures

Jesup, GA

Good thing to be in out field at times. Or corners....Grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Dixie done shopping yet??

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

JJ was going to get tires on her car....that was hours ago...also said power had flickered a few times, but they had generator so would be okay.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Thats some mean snow she got, I keep forgeting where she is.

Jesup, GA

Every time I think I'm done....I'm not done. I have to do a little more shopping and hope to call it quits. Grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Me too, I get this panicked feeling and think OH NO I forgot so and so lol

Jesup, GA
