Group Seed Swap Part #3

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

Becky, I am so excited about getting the seeds. Looking forward to planting them.

Imzadi, so so sorry to hear about your home and fire. That is a tough break and such a scary experience go to through. Glad you and your family are safe.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Debra & Phyllis - I will send your seeds to Judith and Elsa. Thanks! I am sure they will appreciate it! :-)

I am not expecting everyone to agree to this, just those that probably have plenty of seeds and don't mind sharing what they sent. :-) Judith recently moved and no longer has the room for a lot of vines, so she doesn't really need many seeds now.

I am so glad you got out of there. Did you rest last night? I wondered if you did.
Take care.

some rest other times woke up and went to check. with the rain wetting some of it all down and everything away from power and stuff not so jumpy today so will probably sleep more tonight.

Marie - What a mess! Glad you and your daughter are fine and the insurance company will be taking care of the repairs for you! :-)

I want to give everyone an update on the group seed swap...

All the envies are ready to go. They just need to be taped closed. I haven't done that yet because I have been trying to contact Mittsy. She did not make it by this weekend nor has she answered either of my dmails today. So I don't know what the status of her participation in this swap is currently. The last I heard from her, she said she had everything ready and was going to stop by over the weekend to drop her seeds off.

I know everyone is anxious to receive the swap seeds! I think everyone is going to be pleased with what they get. I know this swap seems like it has been going on for quite some time. LOL! If something has come up and Mittsy still wants to participate, would everyone be willing to wait a couple of days for her to mail them to me? I know I would get them in this week and could add them into everyone's envies and get them out ASAP. I hate to leave out anyone who committed and really wants to participate. Perhaps unexpected circumstances has happened with her. I don't know. I am hoping she reads this and replies to let me know whether I should wait for her seeds.

Everyone - let me know what you want me to do.

Do whatever you want. A few days isn't going to make much difference, is it??
We will be happy whenever we get them.

North of Atlanta, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, a few days are fine with me. I won't be planting them for another few weeks anyway. But I am very excited about all the cool MG's. I have big plans for them. Hope I have enough room to plant a little bit of everything. AND I always share with my neighbors!

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

No problem waiting here either.

Emerald Hills, CA(Zone 9b)

Ditto for me!

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

If I don't hear from Mittsy by tomorrow (Tuesday), then I will mail all the envies out on Wednesday. I don't know why Mittsy hasn't contacted me, so I don't want to hold up sending everyone their seeds for more than a day or two ... unless I hear from her.

I think that is fair enough. :-)

And here in Michigan...jan. 18ths..sounds great..even though I know..spring is a long way away. Becky, I trust your judgement. I'm ok with waiting a couple of weeks even. In this area, it will be a few more months before I plant MGs. or anything for that matter.

heckfire, I havent started my Wintersowing yet! and I'm still extracting seeds.

I received a dmail from Mittsy and she has a family emergency. She mailed her seeds to me today. I should get them tomorrow or Thursday. :-) I'll mail everyone's to them the very next day and will let y'all know after I mail them out. I will be dmailing everyone separately to give you the delivery confirmation number of your envie. I don't want your seeds sitting out in the mailbox in the cold snow if at all possible. Freezing temps can kill those seeds if they are sitting outside too long. Just wanted to give everyone a head's up on that! :-) They will be coming by the postal service, the same way that I received them. :-)

Stay tuned!!! I'll also be starting a new thread once I've mailed them out so that everyone can ask questions that you may have about your seeds once you receive them! :-) You will have more seeds than you can grow this year unless you have several acres of land! LOL! This turned out to be a very nice swap everyone!

Thanks for participating! And I am soooo looking forward to everyone's photos come Spring ... or if you decide to try a few indoors! :-)

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Well gang ...

I received Mittsy's seeds today and added them to everyone's envies. ALL bubble envies were mailed out today to everyone but Mittsy. She said she would come by at some point and pick hers up. If not, I will mail hers to her as well. :-)

I will be dmailing each of you with your delivery confirmation numbers. Well, actually ... I decided to take a photo of each person's conformation receipt rather than type the 20 numbers to each person and not take the chance of making a type error. LOL!

So watch your dmail and then keep an eye open for your envies. The cost to mail each was around $3.00 more or less. I have added a little something extra in each envie that cost about $1.25. I won't tell you what these items are, but you'll know them when you see the 3 items. Newbies can ask on the new thread about these items when you get the envies because you'll probably be wondering... what the heck??? LOL! Everyone else will know what they are for. :-) I also sent everyone a LOT of different cultivars/species. So had to purchase extra seed baggies. And I had to purchase bubble envies for 2 people because they needed a larger envie. I also had to buy two rolls of packing tape. Most of you will know why when you get your envies. I taped up "old" envies really good to make sure they arrived in one piece. :-) I think there was an over-payment of $0.50 - $0.75 for everyone except a couple people. But I am not going to waste postage to reimburse everyone as it would cost almost as much to mail you each that amount. I hope y'all understand. :-) I asked for $5 because I wanted to make sure I had enough to cover all the expenses of this swap and it did! So thank you everyone! :-)

I'll be dmailing each person tonight with your confirmation number. I hope that # allows you to track them so you can be waiting for you postman on the day of delivery! Don't let those seeds sit out in the cold weather for too long. I'd hate to hear of any seeds destroyed due to freezing.

I think everyone will be VERY pleased (or at least I hope so) with all the seeds you're receiving from this swap. I really appreciate everyone putting together 18 individual packets per cultivar so that everyone each got the same (except for the few extras that were given on a first come first serve basis). Or special seeds that were added for specific people as pre-arranged.

And please don't forget to thank Dany and Karen (gardener2005) for the seeds they also shared with us! That was very kind and generous of them to share with all of us! :-)

Enjoy all the goodies when you get your envies! Let me know as you receive them. I will be starting a new thread later tonight so that you can start posting as you get your seeds. Please use that thread to ask questions or give info about what you received or sent. :-)

I hope everyone receives their seeds by Saturday, but some may not get them until early next week. :-) And in rare instances (and this happened to me), it took a ridiculously long time (3 weeks) to get my seeds from a group swap. I am hoping that delivery confirmation will prevent that from happening! I hope everyone gets them in a timely manner. :-)

Okay ... I've blabbed long enough! My next post will be about a new thread. :-)

Jerome, MI(Zone 5b)

I am so excited...hehehe...I can not wait...and thank you Becky for doing this..wowow..It all came out great I am sure.. Thanks again to everyone that shared..

smiles...Diana...
