what type of tree do you put up?

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

I love the old ornaments, too. Some of the ones we hang every year are from my husband's mother's German family. . .antique glass ornaments (though not nearly as exquisite as Polly's.)
And then they're the others that only a mother could love.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Beautiful tree's everyone and Polly those ornaments are lovely!! I'd be afraid to hang them up of it were me!!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

those are very nice polly!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks everyone. I am afraid to hang them, but then what? I would never look at them otherwise. I think something like that is to be enjoyed, but with caution. When the kids were little I put them way up on top. I only have one child so no question who to leave them to.

I have tons of homemade ornaments from my daughter and from the grandkids. I pick a few to go on the tree each year, but I couldn't put all on, it would topple the tree! But those are the most special of all. And then some from friends, my husband buys me Thomas Kinkade ones each year. I need a house full of trees.

Alas, only one small Frasier Fir this year.

Thomaston, CT

Polly, my DH's sister had very old ornaments on the tree, handed down by Gparents----there's only one left unbroken, that was passed down to DH's niece. Loved all the trees, every one of them unique---

Here's one of my favorite ornaments, a picture of my favorite little girl on an ornament.

Some modern paper decorations. There's a woman on ebay that sells these. I thought you might like to see them, Lucy.

Pretty

Handmade trees from my favorite boy, along with a Thomas Kinkade tree, on top of my new stereo.

My new stereo matches my new TV, by the way, so don't pick on it.

Circa 1972, the darn thing won't die. It had service once when it was two weeks old. Last year it quit, and I was sooo happy, dreaming of a new widescreen, and a lovely cabinet to put it in. Until Russ found the reset button.

Nice tree Victor. Those old ornaments are a treasure PollyK. Things made/grown by kidlings are the best methinks. My neighbour Anne has a giant spruce that her son grew for a school project as a Christmas tree present for her.

my mom has a bigger stereo then that Polly!

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

Well, what is your mothers stereo like, Allison? I think they actually call mine a victrola?

I have no idea what year my record player is from, but it has the wind up arm.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

looks like a buffet table.. I am guessing 4 or 5 foot long... huge cabinet with louver doors to cover the speakers.. it has the optional 8 track player!... moving that monster is no easy task.. always fun cleaning

Hannibal, NY(Zone 6a)

I remember those! No mine is not nearly that big. The 8 track player was never even thought of when mine was made. Would you believe we still have tons of eight tracks stored away? No eight track player, though.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

My parents had one too.....Victrola that is.

I just realized I never posted a pic of my tree. Got carried away looking at everyone else's tree's and special ornaments that I forgot!

Beautiful tree. No shortage of presents at Pixies.

This thread has been so fun! Love seeing everyone's trees and ornaments. I'm already thinking of how I will miss my ornaments when we take our tree down and they go back into storage.
Speaking of that: when do folks take their tree(s) down? Ours stays up until after Jan 6th. Must admit, it feels like about time by then.

I believe one step-grandaughter is missing from this picture........

Need a wide lens for that shot Louise!! LOL This was hard enough ....we all went over to were poor Justin was sitting. It was easier than getting him up and moving him as he wasn't feeling all the well. I climbed up,into the back cornor so no one would squish me!!

Pixie, Great family shot even without your 4 legged members. We had just the two dogs and DS and we didn't manage to get a picture of us all. Here is our tree that we put up on Dec 24th with the girls. Patti

Patti, do you ever get the opportunity to sit on the couch?
;) Cute!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Venu20, You got that right. They are out for a walk right now, so I can sit on it for a few minutes. 12 degrees outside, so it will be a quick sit. Patti
