I tried listing them on Craigslist.com before. And just listed the plates there again for the Indianapolis area. There are a lot of people who sell them on eBay for not much money. Too much to mess with along with the shipping and everything. And I can't sell the Hummels with chips. Just thought I would ask you girls if you would be interested in any of them.

When she moves out on her own she will learn to love the dollar store!!

DS only asked for the DVD's when he moved out, Flowers. So we kind of played Monopoly with them.

DD is stuck to the hip with 2 of her friends, they were talking about apartments today, but she's only 16, so I have time. I have a feeling she's the one that's gonna clean me out, but I could use a new set of dishes!

I'm getting a kick out of oldest daughter. When she was home, had to be designer everything. Few years and two kids later she is scouting GW and thrift shops, knew that one was coming lol

Yeah Flowers,there's not too much that I don't like as far as food goes. I have never liked peanut butter. That veggie plate Dave has up the thread looks pretty good! The Christmas blue plates aren't a set of plates. I used to use them at Christmas for cookies etc.

I have my grandma's "fine china", or so I thought. One night my mom had a plate held up to her chest - then proceeded to tell me the story that they got them when they went to a double-feature at the movies for 2 cents a piece. If it was a scary movie and someone dropped their plate, everyone would clap.

That's probably as close as I'll ever get to fine china.

Someday when I grow up I will plan my meals, until then its a good thing the defrost on the microwave works well.

Now Venice I lied, was thinking plates to eat out of. I do have a collection of plates of my youngest daughter in the china cabinet but have no room for more. That is so pretty!

Do you remember the chicken soup bowls, the kind you take the lid off of? My Dad got me one probably in 1970 the year I got married and still have it. Wouldn't take a million for it.

Well, I got my "good" set of china when I was about 25 from the Army PX where they were really cheap. I ran out of everyday dishes so I have been using those. It is not my taste any more.

Pretty Venice, are those from the PX? looks like old editions

Well, I have 9 different blue plates. I collected them when I was 25 or so. Don't use them.

don't get rid of them Venice, family members may treasure them some day.

I know they have that old looking charm. They are about 40 years old now. Can't get that pattern any more except at the hard-to find site.

I don't think my daughter-in-law would like them. She is real picky about her tastes and she is not into old looking things.

none of the young people are but will come around later I'm sure. I use to dispise antiques but love them now.

I have a large lamp in my bedroom that was husbands Aunts. It has a big gold raised rose on it and base is tear drop shaped in ivory, very pretty

Your grand daughter might like them Carol. You might consider writing a note for her telling her how you found them and a bit about your life when you got them. It could begin a really nice correspondence for the two of you. You could start with one and see if she was interested in more.

yea Dixie, DH brought home a big claw foot sofa for our first home. I told him he better get that ugly thing out of there. I would love to have it now lol

I have a picture of my great grand mother that was handed down to me in its origional frame. That my great aunt gave me. Other stuff as well. But I tend to treasure that the most.

I've got a big oval frame made out of what I'm sure is an expensive wood. The glass is out of it and need to get it restored. My Dads baby picture was in it and he had a gown on lol

I don't have anything that has been handed down in the family except for my Grandma's bowl on the left in that photo and my Great Grandparents player piano.

I know what you mean. When my grand mother passed she had 2 of the old claw foot bath tubs. None of us wanted them. Could kick my self. You can too if ya want. Grin
