Cute, Moon.

I'm behind the line leader 2 threads in a row!! Talk about timing!!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Saved that spot just for you Smiley....grin

What's the recipe for the day?

Dang!! Very similar to what I had yesterday, Dave. Only my zucchini was in a salad and I had stuffed shells.

Thanks for the choco update. When I look at a recipe, I skip right to the technique. It dawned on me that I know nothing about making chocolate, and better get a general idea.

Moon, I also decided to make the pretzels to go with the snack mustard. Gonna try to get as much homemade as I can, I can't wait to try it all. I think I'll be taking a few days off from work...

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I think you will have to as busy as things are. Be good for you to have a few days to play in the kitchen. You can post pics of the successes....grin Did you find a hot cocoa recipe?

Keaau, HI

For Hot Chocolate, follow the chocolate recipe, then add milk after adding the vanilla.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

DD loves hot chocolate, I'll have to remember that, Dave (copy & paste, copy & paste)

Moon, haven't looked for a dry recipe yet, but will. Printed the last thread to get all my ideas in order. I have plenty of days to use up, that's the good thing.

I think I better try the chocolate ahead of time, though, just to make sure it's as good as Dave's looks (wink! wink!)

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I thought this might help to inspire you, Smiley....grin

done and printed. Thanks, Moon!

Maybe I'll try a couple chocolate spoons for her, too!

Dave, Jordan and I are making a veggie pasta for tonight's meal. So far he has chosen broccoli, cauliflower, bell peppers and black olives....did i raise that kid right or what....grin

Keaau, HI

Mmmm! Hot Chocolate!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

I kinda thought that might appeal...grin Gotta make sure Lynnie sees it too....You could also make peanut butter suckers....really easy...scoop p'nut butter onto a straw to make a ball. chill for a few minutes and then dip in chocolate a few times with a rest between dips. wrap with saran when chocolate sets. You can make them any size and roll them in chopped peanuts or hazel nuts between dips.

Keaau, HI

Smart young man Jean! Hard enough to get adults to eat veggies.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You have to start them early. Jordan has had a variety of veggies since he was a tiny toddler. Called broccoli baby trees and he was fascinated....ranch dressing helps get them started...lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

DS is like that too, Moon. Loves his veggies.

DD would like Dave's picture better! I have one of those grinders, it was Grandma's, but hasn't been used for it's intended purpose in years. (It sits atop the piano that's gotten the same treatment)

Well I'm on a mission now!!! Seems Virgie ( my Christmas mouse), has ventured out of the computer room into kitchen silverware drawer. Put all silverware into dishwasher and hope Virgie trys to find it. And when he does he will be on the ride of his life lol Gone now to think up other evil ways to catch him. Just thought you would want to know he he

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Boy is that mouse in for a surprize.....he doesn't know who he's dealing with.....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

yea but gotta hide my cigarettes and coffee he's too fast lol I"LL BE BACK!!!

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Our office is in the plant. The plant is kept at about 60°, so when it gets cold the mousies try to get in the office. And they do. Katie went in the bathroom & 3 of them were teetering on the edge of the wastebasket having a party. She came out of there squealing!

So Brad got rid of them, found out where they were coming in, yada yada. The next day he was fixing his lunch in the kitchen and found a mouse in the dishwasher, alive. So he hustled it outside to the field by the scruff of it's neck & came and told me about it.

So I asked him if the mouse was clean ^_^ Needless to say, we ran the dishwasher empty.

It's weird, we are in the middle of the city, and we've seen deer in the back on our docks. They walk the tracks behind the building.

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

DH went "City Fishing" in the garage last year when we found a family of mice. Long story short, he took a shoebox, tracked just a touch of peanut butter to a hole in the top of the box, and sat and waited...... and waited......

Had an old bike helmet rigged up across a beam with a rope. When the mice peered into the hole to see what smelled so good (a big blob of peanut butter) he would let go and the helmet (upside down like a 'U') would knock them in the heinie's into the box. Then we took them over to the park & let them go.

We were cracking up, let's not talk about the one that got loose in the car on the drive over to the park.....

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

I'm with Katie Smiley, one of us has to go! Virgies party days are about to come to an end. Catch ya this evening if your in here. Have a good workday!

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Too funny Smiley....would have a hard time getting back in the car....grin

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Thats a funny pictue, a mouse with a helmet over its eyes looking for a way out lol

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

It was really funny. They'd get knocked in that box. When he first showed me, I said "you're gonna get mouse guts all over the place". he said "no, no dear, they'll just get knocked into the box".

City Fishing. Yes, the car came to a screeching halt and I refused to get back in until we found him. I mean, until HE found him.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good girl....men and their silly games....grin

okay, back to work....later

Trying this again, I lost my first post........what happened to that. I have NO idea.

Is that a picture of Jordan Jean? Handsome lil fella.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday and all are feeling better that had/has been feeling sickly.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Hi r Rachel. That is my second GS, Aidan, the little Aussie....he really liked that dark chocolate chip croissant.....

Hope you are having a good day.

Aidan, sure is a cutey Jean. I can't remember, how old is Jordan and I hope your feeling a little better today? It's a gloomy day here and will be all week.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Jordan had his 15th birthday September 1st.....not my baby, but will always be my baby....grin

Think this was an ear infection, but is actually feeling better, thanks.

We have sunshine here today and should for the next few days....so glad as I am tired of gray days....grin

Do you have big plans for Thanksgiving? Jim is working, so we are laying low and taking it easy.

Good to hear your feeling better Jean.

We have a family get together on Thanksgiving (mother's side) and then another get together at my Grandmother's (father's side) as well. Me and my brother's wife do the cooking for that one ;-)

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Do any of you collect blue Christmas plates?

Indianapolis, IN(Zone 5b)

Or do any of you collect Hummel figurines or want one? I have 2 that have chips on them and can't sell them for more that a couple of dollars, Coquettes and Little Fiddler. Let me know if any of you would like them.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

not me Venice, never had the proper layout for any given meal even tho I have done a lot of dinners. My collection consists of three different sets of plates and mason jars with handles to drink out of. Think that mindset hit when kids kept dropping the good stuff and breaking it when they were small. lol

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

What a cutie Aiden is Moon. I like that name too.

Smiley your DH must have a lot of patience to wait on a mouse so he can kick its butt.

Rachel sounds like you are going to have a busy Thanksgiving. You're going to need a big nap after all that food...grin

Venice I don't collect anything but thanks for the offer.
Well I collect dust. LOL

Kenmore, NY(Zone 6a)

Did you check ebay, Venice? Maybe someone might want to complete a collection.

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

JJ have some extra I can send ya :-) Hi Rachael and Dave, missed ya again nice pictures and Rachael two big meals in one day, hope your fasting now.

Jesup, GA

Moon the little fellow in the picture is sooo cute! Hope you are feeling better. I had a long nap. Rachel,I keep missing you. Hope you are well and plan on having a Happy Thanks Giving! Poo's are nervous. I think they just plan on quietly slipping by T.G. Grin I dont think they feel very secure this time of year. They are celebrating a (we lived through T.G. party.) Grin

Woodhull, IL(Zone 5a)

LOL flowers.
My middle son bought me a set of plates for Christmas 2 years ago ,because he said he thought I should have something that matched.

I did before I had kids!!

Leicester, NC(Zone 8a)

Man I'm sick of peanut butter, how bout you Dixie? Moon Aiden is so adorable, I have a Aiden too and will get to see him Wed.
