Count me three with Victor and Harper. In terms of a DG NE calendar, I consider it the people contributing, not a geographic area. You're in Dnut. Besides, everyone needs to get hosed once in awhile ^_^
Great psychology Debi!
The photo contest
You can count me as four Dnut!
When I read NE calendar I thought of the NE members, not the geographic location so there better be some dalhias and nuts in the mix! ;)
LOL
i agree that anyone who contribites here is included - especially nutty canucks that spell things with a U in them.
I love you dnut! A NE endeavor that doesn't include you? BLASPHEMY! I hear what you are saying, but what makes the NE forum wonderful, and the best forum on the net, is the wonderful mix of people and their unconditional tolerance, and acceptance of each others' differences. The calender will reflect that wonderful quality.
I agree completely with what they said, dnut. Though I don't do pics, I would love a NE calendar.
awwwwwww (blush) Debilu I am funky happy that you are funky happy ^_^
Yes, DNut---you can't escape us! I hope we can have the format before Dec. 30th, or after Feb. 2----I won't have a computer in FL.
Okay - let's hear some ideas for the calendar. How about everyone interested can offer one photo? Let's say what we are considering offering so we can cover different times of year. How about a poem from Don and a photo of a painting from Jo Anne? I'll check around for reasonable prices.
Feel free to offer any other ideas.
I'm interested but I don't have any photos to offer, ohhhh... now that I think about it maybe I do.
But what if you're a lousy picture taker?
Then you get the 13th month. ^_^
lol
I wish they left the access to the calendar pics...I wanted to show my bil the pics.
All of my garden photos were on my old computer which of course is history, so I better do a sunset...not usually up for the sunrises!
Very pretty Polly!!
Thank you! Maybe Jo Ann will post a picture of the picture she painted of it. Very complimentary.
Actually, it's on Jo Anns website. Towards the bottom of the page. How cool is that to have someone make a painting of your picture.

it is very cool
Thanks. I was very flattered Jo would do that.
Gorgeous. The Fingerlakes are so lovely in fall. Those trees look like they are on fire.
That was actually northern Vermont, but I had some requests from friends for prints or screen savers. It's my screen saver at work and one coworker couldn't believe I took it.
I think it would make a lovely puzzle. Have any of you checked into selling your pics to puzzle makers?
Thank you, no, I never thought of that.
Is there any way to see how many votes your picture got?
Martha
It was listed for 1-3 place and runner ups.
Maybe if enough people submit photos there could be collages each month so everyones photos could be included. They could be grouped by theme. they would be smaller than the one photo but everybody would be included.
Or maybe one of those longer calenders that doesnt end in Dec but includes a few 2011 months.
Or a gardening calendar that starts in March!
Good Idea!
Or even one of those old fashioned type calenders that have the yearly calender on the bottom and flip up pages on top so there are more room for photos and you could flip to whichever one you wanted.
Of course, cost would be a factor too.
I assumed you were talking collages so everyone could submit a picture. But if you want to go with a single picture per month, certainly don't bother with mine. I will still want to buy a calendar.
Yes - we can try to get everyone's in.
depending on how many pic's are entered and thier quality 4 per month might not be too many - and let the best pictures win - there should be no limit on how many photo's a person has.
This sounds like a fun idea. I like the collage idea. If you group them by theme then what is the criteria for each theme? Subject matter and time of year? How would we submit them and should we get a ballpark price for it first? Okay too many questions. I would have trouble to pick one, how about each person submits no more than 5. One for each season and additional favorite whole garden shot or a critter pic.
I was searching for a photo for Lemon Daddy Hydrangea and look what I found! I think there are a few artists here that qualify....

Oh wow!!! I'm painting my cyclamen right now. Don't think I could make the deadline though. My bursitis is bothering me a lot.
On that note, last week I finally figured out what my next goal in life is. It's been a long time since I had a goal other than to be 'Mom' to my son. I'm going to enroll in the certificate program at NYBG for Botanical Art and Illustration. I'm really excited about this. I'll probably take a long time to get the certificate, because I have to work, but I don't care!!! I'm just happy to be doing this!!
Congrats, Harp! Wonderful. I took a class at NYBG one time and one of the other students was the lady in charge of that department. She is no longer there. Have fun!
Wonderful goal! Enjoy the journey!
that is great Harper!!!.. so proud of you!!
